I've never stayed at an all-inclusive before this and I'm just blown away. The resort was beautiful, not too big and easy to walk anywhere without it being a hike. Tons of food options and 99% of everything we had was delicious! Drinks were a light pour but you could just ask for a double. Beach had very little seaweed, super clean and beautiful. We had a wonderful time!

The pool area was great and clean loved the
hammocks to relax in the pool. Staff very friendly and tentative. The food was great, ambience was good too. The rooms were very nice and the mini bar was stocked with a variety of drinks loved the selection. Loved the beach and walks at night. Felt very relaxed, comfortable and safe.

Mine and my husbands stay here was absolute perfection. They had so much to do on the property, pools, spa, gym and different shows and activities at night. The food was a 10/10 at every restaurant but if I could recommend one it would be ‘The Grill’. Staff was always friendly and made sure we were comfortable in every aspect. We were treated like VIP’s. We would definitely come back again.

I had an absolutely amazing birthday stay at Excellence Playa Mujeres! From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional and the entire resort exceeded my expectations. The property was beautifully maintained, spotless, and truly felt like a luxury escape. Every area of the resort—from the pools to the restaurants to the beach—was clean, relaxing, and well cared for. The all-inclusive experience was worth every moment, with delicious food, great drinks, and plenty of options throughout the day. What really made this trip unforgettable was the staff. Jakeline the manager was amazing, there was an issue with my initial room and within a couple of hours of informing the property not only was I placed in a different room i was also upgraded with club level amenities. The entertainment team and wait staff (Alexandria, Alfredo, Ruben, Tonatiuh) was absolutely top tier—friendly, energetic, professional, and genuinely focused on making sure guests had a great time. They created such a fun and welcoming atmosphere that made celebrating my birthday even more special. If you’re looking for a relaxing adults-only getaway with beautiful scenery, excellent service, and amazing vibes, I highly recommend Excellence Playa Mujeres.

Overall, we had a good time at Excellence Playa Mujeres. The resort itself is beautiful, especially the pools, which were clean, relaxing, and one of the highlights of our stay. The staff was always friendly, welcoming, and clearly working very hard.

That being said, the food was below average compared to what we expected from a resort of this level. Another issue was the slow service at times, especially when ordering drinks by the pool, which often took much longer than expected.

It honestly seemed like the resort may be understaffed, because the employees were kind and doing their best, but service delays were noticeable throughout our stay. With better staffing and improvements to the food quality, this resort could provide a much better overall experience.

My wife and I came here for our honeymoon and had the best time! We stayed for almost 2 weeks and would have stayed longer if we were able to.

The entertainment was great, and they incorporated a lot of tradition and meaning into their live shows.

The cleaning service was very respectful and considerate when coming into our room. The room was always left clean and in pristine condition.

The staff for the room service when ordered were also very respectful when they would bring in the food. The room service food was very good.

The staff were very friendly and it really made the stay even better. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable.

The pools were maintained and kept very clean. There were no complaints that we had when it came to the pools.

The bars had a wide variety of drinks and were delicious. The bartenders were fun and kept up with the busy crowds.

The food portions were larger than expected and were filling. The food was very very good! Overall, it was an amazing experience at each restaurant.

I just want to take the time to thank all the staff who made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. A lot of work goes into maintaining the resort. The maintenance personnel, groundskeepers, bartenders, hosts at each of the restaurants, waitresses and waiters really make the place what it is. We felt welcomed the second we stepped out of the vehicle and had our luggage handled by the staff.

My wife and I highly recommend this resort!

We have stayed at several Excellence resorts, this one i thought was going to be a standout and it wasn't. Food was alright, about the same as the others maybe a tad better. The drinks were good but i ran out often. The Honeymoon suite was the best part of our stay, it was a beautiful room and rooftop. If you have been to one Excellence you've seen them all. Not bad for price but but we will probably stick with Garza Blancas for our future Mexico trips. This resort is a 7.5

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon- and we had an excellent time! The layout and grounds, access to the beach, and level of service were great. We loved hanging at the beach or poolside with consistent and friendly beach-side service. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and Mexican buffet night the most- the other food options were fine, not anything exceptional. It was relaxing to have be in an all inclusive with many options on site. We did an excursion to Chichin-Itza, a cenote and Valladolid organized through the hotel which was an informative and adventurous day - bookended by a lot of relaxing in the sun! I also enjoyed a spa experienced facilitated by Gilberto. The staff were all friendly and our room was a relaxing and lovely, with a private view of the lazy river, a continually replenished bar, and great room service. We had a relaxing, excellent time!

Great staff! Had a great time! It was a very nice resort. They really kept everything clean. They give you daily maid service and nightly turn down. Food was great! . No reservations were required other than Spice International. (Hibachi). Beaches were nice and were cleaned up daily. We had a swim out room. They provided drink services at our swim up which was convenient. Entertainment was decent. Love the coffee and pastries shop! You have to try the chocolate donuts! Loved getting hot or iced vanilla lattes everyday. Pools were really nice. Plenty of chairs were available. Lots of activities daily offered. Download the app when you check in and you can reference anything you need during your stay. I give it an 8 out of a 10. Bathroom area needs to be closed off better in your room. I’m an early bird. Anyone trying to sleep
In will get an eye full of light from the bathroom since it’s open to the bedroom area.

Outstanding service! Luxurious and welcoming! Beautiful white sand beach, gorgeous view. I enjoyed many of the fun activities including pool Zumba, candle making, beach yoga, and sound healing. Nightly entertainment was first class—many different styles of music (vocal and instrumental), dance, magic, even a circus above and around the main pool! We ate in almost all of the restaurants and the food was awesome! Already planning a return visit in 2027!

8. Beach view was outstanding, could not count all the shades of turquoise.
9. Entertainment-phenomenal. Silent disco, dance party and Illusionist was the best, still cannot figure out how performer did things. Left us all amazed.
10-please get excellence upgrade, makes a huge difference.
11. Very calm resort, no parties just a place to enjoy quiet honey moon, relaxing stay, just couples late 20's 30-60's lots of LGBTQ couples-resort and guest very open and accepting.
If you're thinking about it, just do it. You won't be disappointed.

First time at Excellence Maharas, and we spent the day on the beach. The service from Josue and Floricel was outstanding friendly, professional, attentive, and incredibly fast. They treated us with genuine kindness and made the entire experience feel special.
Our room was excellent as well comfortable, clean, and beautifully maintained.
What really impressed me was that the director and assistant director personally took time out of their busy day twice to ask how we were enjoying the facility. That final touch showed me this place truly cares about every guest.
Because of the way we were treated, we will absolutely return. Truly exceptional service all around. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was overall an excellent resort. It was very clean including the rooms. Staff were very friendly. The check in experience was great! The food was delicious, plenty of restaurants/food selection at this resort. We had a great time.

The reason for the 4 star and not a 5 star review:

I tried to contact the hotel directly before attending to confirm our reservation as we booked through Expedia. I was only able to speak to a call centre and I was told there was absolutely no way for me to speak to someone at the hotel and that there was no way to confirm the reservation as I had booked through a third party. I thought this was bizarre and made me feel uneasy not knowing our reservation was confirmed with the hotel directly.

Poolside drink service was slow and there were a couple occasions where we would order a drink and it didn't show (even with a tip).

This was our Honeymoon, we received a card to bring to a restaurant of our choosing for a romantic dinner which included a bottle of wine. Our waiter began to go over the wine menu and we made a decision. We were then asked if the wine was to be charged to our room, we declined as we thought a bottle was included with our experience. We were provided with a bottle of the house wine which seemed redundant as we could just order as many glasses of house wine as we wanted. The overall dinner experience wasn't anything special.

This resort was a bit too expensive for what it was.

Nice resort. Rooms are dated (some are renovated apparently) and housekeeping was spotty - some days our used glassware wasn’t removed and we weren’t restocked. Our fridge was left open 6 out of the 9 days we were there. Likes: the spa was amazing, very expensive but worth it. Great shows and nightlife. The food was generally very good. Spice was our favourite with The Grill a close second - and we are foodies. Pool service was consistently good.
Not so great: alcohol and cocktails were terrible. Often undrinkable unless you ordered something super simple. Watered down and no to shelf available unless you are Excellence. I even wondered if they replaced the half decent with cheap.

We have visited in Dec 2021 and Jan 2024 and this time in Jan 2026 was our third time. Even if there are clouds there is sunshine at EPM!!! The staff goes out of thier way to make the time SPECIAL!!!! they will do little things --like put flowers on your table or know you like a particular desert and save you the LAST ONE ! I They know if it is your last day at the resort and will do somethings special for you! The staff is so wonderful!!!! We will be back ! There are prettier places --but the service--that is what sets this resort apart from others
