Overall, we had a very nice stay. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff was friendly and did their best to help, even though many of them spoke very little English.

The food was delicious, with a great variety of dishes from different cuisines around the world, so there was always something new to try.

The only downside was the pool area. It was quite simple and lacked attractions like waterfalls or other features that would make it feel more special.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable short vacation, and we had a great time. I would definitely consider staying here again.

Very helpful and kind staff! The restaurants were pretty mediocre aside from Kulinarium, I’d say the buffet had the best food so skip the other restaurants. Rooms were okay on cleanliness, more like a surface level cleanliness, our bedsheets had lipstick stains upon arrival. Beacha nd pool both well maintained. Overall had a great stay.

I had a wonderful stay at RIU Latino in Cancún. The hotel is beautiful, exceptionally clean, and offers an amazing beachfront location. The food was excellent with plenty of variety, the entertainment was fun, and the staff throughout the resort were always friendly and welcoming.

I would especially like to recognize Gustavo at the Front Desk for providing outstanding service. From the moment I arrived for check-in until my departure at check-out, Gustavo was professional, courteous, attentive, and genuinely committed to making my stay as enjoyable as possible. His warm attitude, efficiency, and willingness to help made a lasting impression and truly elevated my experience.

No wifi when you go to the beach area. Also they should have built washrooms in the main dining (Moctezuma) as it’s a pain in the ass to go to the nearest one (which was btw far) located by the sports bar / near the gym.

Foods were all tasty and delicious!!!! I gained 3.5kg in a week! Can you imagine?! 😂

The resort was overall great the food , the atmosphere, honestly everything. Food wise we stuck to the buffet mostly you couldn't go wrong. The beach was kept as clean ad possible. It's definitely more of a active/party vibe hotel so if that's what you're looking for I would definitely recommend this one.

Primera vez hospedándome en RIU y la experiencia fue muy positiva. Tanto las habitaciones como las instalaciones se encuentran en excelentes condiciones, destacando por su limpieza y buen mantenimiento. El personal fue atento y contribuyó a que la estancia fuera agradable.

La comida estuvo bien, con una oferta variada y sin ningún reclamo en cuanto a calidad o servicio. Como único punto a mejorar, considero que la selección de postres podría ser más amplia o tener una mejor elaboración para estar al nivel del resto de la experiencia.

En general, todo estuvo muy bien y quedamos muy satisfechos con nuestra estancia. Sin duda, esperamos poder repetir esta experiencia el próximo año.

This was our second visit to RIU Latino this year. We came in March with our friend group and again this June with our adult children. We had the same stellar service, food that was higher quality than so many other resorts I’ve visited, and a vibe that is fresh, clean, and FUN. We love adults only atmospheres and appreciated the humor and enthusiasm of the entertainment staff. The shows, the mariachi band, the daytime pool games…all kept a smile on our faces . If we had any negatives it would be that we hate having to use room keys instead of having a wrist band that’s easy to keep track of. We all lost our cards or accidentally left them in our rooms at least once. Otherwise an amazing visit! Don’t miss the lobster rice at the Kulinarium and if you want the best morning waitress in the buffet or Pepe’s, it’s Esly. She recognized us immediately, gave hugs and was so excited to take care of us and now our kids. She made us feel like family. We will be watching for another great deal to send us back!!

The property itself is pretty and clean. The food is mostly inedible, we struggled to find something that wasn’t low grade cafeteria food everyday. The restaurants had food the same as the buffet- both VERY low quality food. There is no room service options, only 2 sheets on the beds-no blankets. We called and asked for a blanket and it never arrived. We called the next day and requested it, finally hours later after 4 calls requesting it, they brought us a blanket. The alcohol is all off brand, they can’t make mixed drinks (only beer or wine) in the buffet and restaurants. The bartenders themselves were so great but the supplies they were working with was low quality. The “resort credits” offered when you book is a complete scam. The “credits” are actually just a $10-$15 off coupon for a specific $210 massage or $75 pedicure and can only be used once. The “credits” are really a few coupons for overpriced services and essentially false advertisement. The overall “vibe” of the resort is a lower quality resort for young adults (lots of 18 -20 year olds) that are beyond drunk, we also saw several physical fights between guests, overall making it very low grade compared to other resorts (we have previously stayed at Barcelo in Riviera Maya) and LOVED it. The only positive of the resort was its close proximity to Isla Mujeres. We took the ferry to it 2 days for real food and a much better beach and service. The water exercise class was also fun and the instructors were great!

The service was great. The hotel was clean. The entertainment group did their best: hard workers, amazing job. The food was good; the only issue we had was that the lights went out for about 30 minutes, which was not under their control. They were able to restore it as quickly as they could, and everything went back to normal. Overall, everything was good.

Food is very repetitive. Great idea to have foods from different cuisines but terrible execution. Food wasn’t great. Lights went off completely THREE times on the SAME day. Key NEEDED to be on the key holder or else electricity in the room wouldn’t be available for use. Disco Club should be open on Sundays as well. Don’t be misled-SPA is NOT included in price. Prices in stores inside the resort were very overpriced. (Example: a pack of two ibuprofen pills was $25 USD) Ocean needed to be cleaner. It wasn’t terrible but could’ve been a lot better. However resort was very clean. Great price for what’s included. Staff was incredibly friendly however if you entered buffet an hour or two before they closed, you don’t get good service and sometimes, you don’t get service at all.

The staff at this resort was absolutely fantastic. Excellent service at the restaurants and they simply went above and beyond. Food was great and service at the bars was excellent . I checked in on my birthday and the staff left a bottle of tequila in my room with a note wishing me a happy birthday. They also decorated it with some balloons, which was really personalized. I would recommend this property.

This has been the cleanest Riu resort we’ve ever been to. Housekeeping was amazing, the staff was super helpful, the ocean views were beautiful, and the food was really good. The buffet was excellent as well.

All the bathrooms were squeaky clean at all times and always smelled fresh. Every staff member was very helpful and welcoming.

What really stood out was the massage at the spa. Niomi was simply incredible. I usually don’t expect truly great massages when I go to resorts, but she completely changed my mind. I finally got the deep tissue massage I was looking for — to the point where I almost wanted to yell — but I’m a big boy, so I kept it in.

In fact, the massage was so good that I fell asleep. I even fell asleep during my facial, which my wife thought was hilarious lol.

The only issue with the spa was the speaker in the cold plunge area. It kept making a loud popping noise, which definitely needs to be fixed because it can disrupt relaxation.

Other than that, we had no issues with this resort. The beaches were super clean, the water was crystal clear and blue, and the entertainment was decent — although it could have been a little better. Overall, I highly recommend this resort. Great job, guys.

Awesome... 2nd time here (Aug 2025 was the 1st time). In my last review I said that there were tons of mosquitos (but it was rainy season). This time, none, zero, nada. everything was great, food, service, resort, room, entertainment, beach (barely any seaweed) and the beach area always awesome. We enjoyed the Riu Party (white party), they also have the Jungle party and Pink pool party which we did not attend. Great shows everyday followed by live Latin bands. Great entertainment crew that never seems to be tired (Ana, Funny-funny, Dana, Paola, Alejandro, etc), Clean rooms thanks to nosotros camerista Naty, also great and attentive meseros (Briant, Nino, Nelly and Armando the mesero and Armando el jefe from restaurant Milan). Also appreciate the insights I received regarding the Riu resorts from Miquel the assistant manager. Well organized, and well run resort, never an issue with the food, which is also always fresh and tasty. I love the fact that the pools are well organized and separated (activity pool, quiet pool, volleyball pool, and 2 Bar pools. Also the "mobile bar cart" is a great idea (senior Mike was the best, always doing the rounds around the activity pool and always attentive). We will miss the beach walks up the playa until the other 2 Riu resorts (Palace and Dunmar), and down, all the way to the Light house (Punta Och). Never a dull moment. We cannot wait until we will be back again.

The food in the buffet could be better but it’s the same meals everyday and no change. They don’t really have funny and party activities but they organize to get transferred to a different Riu for the party. Since it’s also an international destination I would say hire a few who can actually communicate in English or even basics- was so overstimulated by using signs and your DJs announcing in Spanish, which is good but the audience we couldn’t understand it.

One day I came back a little earlier to my room and saw housekeeping washing glasses in the washroom sink - not hygienic and I was wondering what soap or cloth did they use.

As a resort I think having robs is a little bit more aesthetically appealing.

I normally don’t like leaving negative reviews, but unfortunately this is the second time I’ve stayed at a RIU resort and experienced VERY disappointing service.

My boyfriend and I stayed from May 12–17 to celebrate my 30th birthday and our anniversary. Before arriving, I called to ask if the resort could do something special for the occasion. I was told to mention it again at check-in, which we did. We were assured our new room would be decorated when we transferred rooms the next day.

When we arrived at the new room, our luggage was missing and the room had not been decorated. After several trips to the front desk, the issue was eventually resolved, but the process was stressful and disorganized. To make matters worse, one of the staff members sent to decorate the room was visibly rude and rolled her eyes at me when I explained that I only speak English.

When we brought this experience to the front desk, the response lacked empathy and concern. Throughout the rest of our stay, service at the restaurants was consistently poor. We were often left without drinks, and at multiple points my boyfriend had to get up and serve us water himself.

While we did meet a few friendly employees, the overall service and food quality were very disappointing. We spent a lot of money on this trip and expected a much better experience, especially while celebrating such special occasions. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we will not be returning & don’t recommend to stay at any Riu.

We have traveled many times before and have access to timeshares which includes both RCI & II. I will travel again with RIU and will make this a vacation spot because of the flow and easy of everything. There were many things to do in Cancun or the neighboring cities (Tullum, Cozmel, etc .....) ...we had an amazing time and when we book our trip next year, 2027, it will be for 14 days instead of 7 days and 6 nights. Not enough time to explore everything.

3 males We worked with at check in reception were not helpful. When checking in they did not give us the basic information such as wifi information. Then the room we were in all of a sudden the wifi stopped working and we had reported this issue over 5 times throughout the day and no one came to repair it. We did not have wifi connection, the room phone did not work and tv was not working as well for the last 2 days. This was so inconvenient for our stay. Will not be returning to this RIU again.
