People doing drugs in front of their room. Place was full of terrible smell
The mattress was terrible, they need to throw it away. The bed sheets seemed they were not cleaned properly. They were wrinkly like freshly used & spread again.
Sorry I will not go there again.

I would not stay here again. Toilet paper roll was broken, cracks in the walls and baseboards, the bed felt broken uncomfortable to sleep just felt dirty. Not to for get my wife almost feel in shower as its not leveled flat its a stand up shower with a curve,. I dont recommend unless u just want a quick place to stay and dont care about how u spend ur money.

First - the staff were extremely wonderful! They had a polite, kind and professional personas. I truly appreciate that when I stay somewhere

Second - the property does look somewhat run down, but it is a place to sleep and it was peaceful inside the room and just fine! Not everything is how it seems.

Third - the bed was comfortable and the pillows were great, just the carpet felt cool on the feet. Not a big deal at all, just maybe if staff see this they can look into that ?

Fourth - overall experience was 85/100! I would highly recommend staying at this nice location!

Building is getting old what we felt need upgrades everywhere, whether its main entrance, restaurant and or rooms. Had to switch to other room because bedsheets were not replaced found pet hairs everywhere. Staff was helpful and supportive. Noticed that room does not have mini refrigerator so had to put food to their kitchen freezer. Highly recommended to make it easier for younger families. Price was reasonable through Expedia but could have reviewed the comments before booking. Pictures wouldn't say real story all the time.

The air conditioning doesn’t work properly & it smells bad. Firstly they gave room next to kitchen area which was really bad experience and when we checked our beds it was kind of old ones. Overall the picture doesn’t match the appearance. DONT GET FOOLED BY LOOKING AT THE PICTURES.

We as a family of five travel 2 hours to come to Niagara falls and did not have a great experience at this hotel. We thought as a Howard Johnson hotel it would be a beautiful property for the amount of money that we spent here. It was a very terrible experience. The amenities were garbage. The toilet seat was off like not safe at all for children to sit on or for any idol to sit on. There were bugs in the room. There was only a mini fridge and that was it for amenities in the room. They had a pool outside that was very dirty and disgusting. The property itself it looked like a trailer park. The breakfast we decided not to go to have. It was Continental. We were told when we checked in that there was no eggs or any type of meat. I would not recommend this hotel.

Never again, room smelled like a mixture dogfood, mold and cigarette..
Cigarette burn on the toilet seat, a tissue stuck to the wall from a previous guest. The AC unit had a large gap over it that let in bugs. Greasy smudges on furniture likely left by previous guest that hadn't been cleaned. And the towels left in the room were very old and raggedy.

The staff seemed pretty nice and the bed/bedding was decent.

I am disappointed with my recent stay. The room did not match the photos shown online, and the cleanliness was unacceptable. The wash basin had yellow stains, and the couch bedsheet had visible stains and marks.
I have photographs of these issues and can provide them if required.
Given the poor condition of the room and the difference between the advertised and actual accommodation, I believe the stay did not provide value for money.

First impression, the room had really strong cigarette smell, so much it hurt my throat. At first glance the room seemed clean but looking closely it was very poorly maintained. I did not even trust that the sheets were even changed from the last guest. The shower is red so it was hard to see if it had been cleaned properly. Generally the hotel looked unkept and poorly maintained. Pool was empty and the breakfast area was dirty. I could not even eat my “free breakfast”. My friend, at a different room, had a bug bite on her arm in the morning, so we all checked out and transferred hotels on the first day, even though we had reservations for 3 nights. The staff was friendly and helped us with the process.

For the price point it was good. The staff was helpful and the stay was what we expected for the cost. Parking was an additional $10, the room was tidy and had ample towels. The continental breakfast again matched the price point. Just be aware of the distance from the hotel to the falls, however it was an easy fix as we found $10 parking within a ten minute drive.

It is unfortunate that updated photos are not required regularly on the site.
The staff were friendly enough but the place seems to offer long term stays for transitional people. We almost drove home and did not stay. It is very loud, walls are very thin. Parking is additional $10. I did not feel safe. Property littered with cigarette butts. I would not recommend this property and would never stay again.

The room was clean, updated flooring. Could use small broom because walking in the room brings in way too much dirt and constantly wiping your feet off. Had a working air conditioner, good shower, bed were comfortable. The furniture looked like it was just thrown in, probably low budget, it was old. Parking was a little tight, especially when all the parking is taken up on the restaurant side of the building, but atleast everyone got a parkingspot. Staff was very pleasant.

Room was clean but need updated, bathroom room has no bath soap but there are dispensable hand soap at the bathroom sink and dispensable shampoo and conditioner in the bath tub stall. I've never experience like this that the bath stall has no soap for bathing. The bathroom tissue holder has rust all over and need to replace. The bathroom counter, faucet knob was not feel clean. Breakfast room was okay, only bread loaf (would suggest to add in bagels) tiny muffins, waffles, apple juice and orange juice, coffee and tea, fresh banana. Overall, it is good for the price, budget friendly.

Staff are rude, took 45 min for someone to come fix our tv the first night and we had to tell him to not be so rude. Second night tv didn't work again so had to wait again for it to be fixed. Would t answer the phone when we called the front desk.
Holes in the wall beside where the ac is so you can hear everything from outside. Towels are toddler sized. Say they are dog friendly but they are not!!

Accessible to and from any point, specially the Falls. In a very nice area, lots of places to eat, even a grocery store within walking distance. Even has a Tim Horton right in front of it. Nice sized rooms with AC/Heater and comfy beds. Safe area, never felt in danger. Friendly staff. Yes, it needs a little love to improve the buildings, if/when they do it'll definitely attract more customers. There is A LOT to see, so if you're on a budget and don't want to spend a lot of money in a place you'll just be crashing in to leave your luggage, get a hot shower and sleep, this is the place. If you want a fancy, Instagram-able place, this isn't for you.

I had previously booked a room at another hotel it was a very horrific experience so I was nervous and it was a very last minute decision to go to Howard Johnson Inn , however when I arrived all my anxiety vanished the front desk were very helpful and empathetic to my situation. The cleaning staff whipped up a room for me in no time and everyone was amazing! Great service, clean rooms, wifi and continental breakfast definitely recommend!

The property is pet friendly. We brought our little Bichon. Check in was easy and quick. Hotel room was clean and basic. Air conditioner was loud. The hotel is on Lundy Lane so it's convenient but it's on a busy street. Do not expect quiet room. Easily heard next door neighbour conversation. Surprised to find hot water pressure pretty good in bathroom. Dove shampoo and conditioner, hand wash were provided, just missing body wash. We brought our own, so we don't bother asking the receptionist. Bath towels were old. Better to bring your own towels. Continental Breakfast includes sliced bread and coffee. There's a waffle machine but a long line up. We didn't eat breakfast there but got breakfast from Tim Hortons across the street.

The parking was a problem because I was charged $10. Please include this charge in your advertisement. I wouldn't have booked.
The room had poor lighting.
The bathroom requires a paint job and new caulking.
The heating system was noisy.
The room doesn't come with cable. You're expected to use your own Netflix account and register with ROKU. I was also charged another $10 for what I don't know. I would stay away from this place. I'd spend more to get better conditions.

I didn’t use internet or breakfast services. My room’s sink drained very slowly backing up. Jet tub was difficult to turn on or keep running, fridge froze all my food and possibly damaged very expensive medication, which I will not know until I try to use tomorrow. I told the staff when I checked out, with the response of “hmmm ok”, nothing more.

Internet connection said good but you couldn't watch more then 1 minute of any show without it buffering and continuosuly disconnecting and needing reconnecting to the internet. My boyfriend had to use the hot spot on his phone so we could watch something. I was fine with the parking fee as it was clearly stated ahead of time. What I find decieving is they say a mini fridge is "available upon request". So after arriving and calling to request one, they then inform me its an additional $10/night. I would suggest the wording gets changed to "available upon request for an extra fee" so there is no confusion. But I do think its pretty cheap to not supply them in the rooms in this day and age. I stay at nice hotels and cheal motels across Ontario, and depending on my type of visits, even the smallest most basic rooms have still had fridges and microwaves in them. Hairdryer did not work. We were put in a corner room beside the housekeeping closet and in the morning the housekeepers stood outside talking and were generally loud and kept waking us up. It is a pet friendly motel. I was aware before booking it. But that should not mean that dogs can just sit in a room barking all night long.

Positives:
The heater in the room was exceptional. There was lots of hot water. I like the Dove shampoo and conditioner they supply in the big bottles. The jacuzzi tub got very hot, even though it fills very slowly, the jets worked well and it retained heat for over an hour.

My stay was enjoyable. Upon arrival I were advised that the room category I had booked was unavailable due to a plumbing issue in the room. We were offered an alternate and recently renovated room and complimentary parking to make up for the issue. Facility itself is a bid dated and shows its age on the outside but the room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was limited and entirely carbs. It would be nice to add a protein of some kind but as an included feature it was good. Overall value for dollar was very good and I would return.

Very disappointing stay. This is supposed to be a Howard Johnson by Wyndham, but it does not reflect the brand standard at all. The photos online are misleading and appear outdated.

The room felt worn, and poorly maintained. Bedding looked off-white and aged, pillows were flat, towels had stains and felt rough. The bathroom toilet was unclean, had cracked tiles, some damaged baseboards, and very slow water flow from the sink tap. No bath soap was provided.

There’s an Indian/Hakka restaurant attached to the hotel and the smell is very strong throughout the lobby. Our “non-smoking” room also smelled like smoke. If you’re sensitive to odors, this is not the place to book.

Windows didn’t seem to have proper locking mechanisms, which raised safety concerns. We skipped the continental breakfast after reading recent reviews and went elsewhere instead.

You truly get what you pay for. Read recent reviews carefully before booking — don’t rely on the website photos.
