I had previously booked a room at another hotel it was a very horrific experience so I was nervous and it was a very last minute decision to go to Howard Johnson Inn , however when I arrived all my anxiety vanished the front desk were very helpful and empathetic to my situation. The cleaning staff whipped up a room for me in no time and everyone was amazing! Great service, clean rooms, wifi and continental breakfast definitely recommend!

The property is pet friendly. We brought our little Bichon. Check in was easy and quick. Hotel room was clean and basic. Air conditioner was loud. The hotel is on Lundy Lane so it's convenient but it's on a busy street. Do not expect quiet room. Easily heard next door neighbour conversation. Surprised to find hot water pressure pretty good in bathroom. Dove shampoo and conditioner, hand wash were provided, just missing body wash. We brought our own, so we don't bother asking the receptionist. Bath towels were old. Better to bring your own towels. Continental Breakfast includes sliced bread and coffee. There's a waffle machine but a long line up. We didn't eat breakfast there but got breakfast from Tim Hortons across the street.

The parking was a problem because I was charged $10. Please include this charge in your advertisement. I wouldn't have booked.
The room had poor lighting.
The bathroom requires a paint job and new caulking.
The heating system was noisy.
The room doesn't come with cable. You're expected to use your own Netflix account and register with ROKU. I was also charged another $10 for what I don't know. I would stay away from this place. I'd spend more to get better conditions.

Paper thin walls, smelled like smoke, cobbled together bathroom, uncomfortable beds with pillows like pancakes, toilet wasn’t working properly. I could go on. If you’re looking for a cheap place to stay, this is it, but there are reasons why it’s so cheap.

I didn’t use internet or breakfast services. My room’s sink drained very slowly backing up. Jet tub was difficult to turn on or keep running, fridge froze all my food and possibly damaged very expensive medication, which I will not know until I try to use tomorrow. I told the staff when I checked out, with the response of “hmmm ok”, nothing more.

Internet connection said good but you couldn't watch more then 1 minute of any show without it buffering and continuosuly disconnecting and needing reconnecting to the internet. My boyfriend had to use the hot spot on his phone so we could watch something. I was fine with the parking fee as it was clearly stated ahead of time. What I find decieving is they say a mini fridge is \"available upon request\". So after arriving and calling to request one, they then inform me its an additional $10/night. I would suggest the wording gets changed to \"available upon request for an extra fee\" so there is no confusion. But I do think its pretty cheap to not supply them in the rooms in this day and age. I stay at nice hotels and cheal motels across Ontario, and depending on my type of visits, even the smallest most basic rooms have still had fridges and microwaves in them. Hairdryer did not work. We were put in a corner room beside the housekeeping closet and in the morning the housekeepers stood outside talking and were generally loud and kept waking us up. It is a pet friendly motel. I was aware before booking it. But that should not mean that dogs can just sit in a room barking all night long.

Positives:
The heater in the room was exceptional. There was lots of hot water. I like the Dove shampoo and conditioner they supply in the big bottles. The jacuzzi tub got very hot, even though it fills very slowly, the jets worked well and it retained heat for over an hour.

My stay was enjoyable. Upon arrival I were advised that the room category I had booked was unavailable due to a plumbing issue in the room. We were offered an alternate and recently renovated room and complimentary parking to make up for the issue. Facility itself is a bid dated and shows its age on the outside but the room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was limited and entirely carbs. It would be nice to add a protein of some kind but as an included feature it was good. Overall value for dollar was very good and I would return.

Very disappointing stay. This is supposed to be a Howard Johnson by Wyndham, but it does not reflect the brand standard at all. The photos online are misleading and appear outdated.

The room felt worn, and poorly maintained. Bedding looked off-white and aged, pillows were flat, towels had stains and felt rough. The bathroom toilet was unclean, had cracked tiles, some damaged baseboards, and very slow water flow from the sink tap. No bath soap was provided.

There’s an Indian/Hakka restaurant attached to the hotel and the smell is very strong throughout the lobby. Our “non-smoking” room also smelled like smoke. If you’re sensitive to odors, this is not the place to book.

Windows didn’t seem to have proper locking mechanisms, which raised safety concerns. We skipped the continental breakfast after reading recent reviews and went elsewhere instead.

You truly get what you pay for. Read recent reviews carefully before booking — don’t rely on the website photos.

They first put me in a room with a cold tile floor and no working heat. Then after calling Expedia, they moved to another room. I ended up having to disinfect the wall that was smeared with feces. That was gross! The laundry facilities were not available. They claimed the pipes were frozen. I understand that can happen, but when I asked about a nearby laundromat, the attendant said I’d have to do an online search for it. Rude.

This hotel was extremely disappointing and nothing like the photos shown online. The property is dirty, run-down, and clearly neglected.
The bed was in very poor condition — when you sit on it, it sinks and feels like you’re going to fall through. The floors were dirty, the electrical outlets were broken, and the mattresses were stained, which made us feel very uncomfortable and unsafe.
Overall, the hotel looks old, damaged, and poorly maintained. It does not match the pictures at all, which feels misleading.
The only positive aspect of our stay was the staff, who were polite and kind, but unfortunately good customer service cannot make up for the lack of cleanliness and the poor condition of the rooms.
I would not recommend staying here until major cleaning and renovations are done.

The room was disgusting. Reeked of smoke. Dirty toilets and sink. Around 10:00pm tenants were fighting, behaving aggressively and violently. Therefore we got up and left. The owners refused to refund the room, but with a kid in the room I was not taking the chance.
Management was not up for the job and cleaning crew is obviously not doing their job.
Never again. If these hotels are promoted by your company you need to change you standards.

No problem with staff room was clean the extra charge for parking is not right and the heavy charge for my dog was a lot what extra work involved for the amount,outside building was very dirty needs alot of repairs done around the property overall appearance was unacceptable. A little loud at night with party people but that is dependant on who is around during the stay. Rooms are dated but clean. Found it strange there was shampoo but no soap? Breakfast is Continental so don't expect much more than toast, cereal and coffee. It is exactly as described. Additional fee for parking but that is listed so I was fine with that. Good place to stay for the price.

During my stay, my phone fell under the bed. When I moved the bed to retrieve it, I found a used needle. This is completely unacceptable and dangerous. When I reported it to the front desk, the staff did not apologize, did not seem shocked, and offered no compensation or solution. The lack of cleanliness and lack of concern from the staff is alarming. I would not recommend staying here.

The room was clean but in terrible condition. The mattress was old, squeaky and saggy. The toilet was not properly bolted down so it rocked. The ceiling tiles over the tub were water stained. The tiles around the tub were broken. The bedding was very worn and the towels were the cheapest I have ever seen. The faucet handle was so loose that I had to tighten it to be able to use it. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

The room and property were clean, no issues there. There is an Indian restaurant attached to the hotel and the smell was overpowering. Also, the room we got had been smoked in and smelled of smoke heavily. The entire building is very old and needs to be completely renovated, inside and out. Nice staff.
