This place had a beautiful view to the ocean from the room we stayed in. We were feet away from the ocean view. From our bed the ocean was at our feet. Only thing we didn’t like was the box spring bed. I feel for the price the beds should have been more relaxing. However still a great stay

The view from the window is amazing. Unfortunately, the water does go down so having the room directly on the water goes away for a couple hours. It comes back quick though. The room was pretty clean and the bed was comfortable. We will definitely be going back to this hotel again.

The property is beautiful. The rooms were wonderful. However, check-in is at 3 o’clock and our room nor were our friends rooms ready until after 3:30. It worked ok as we all sat in the beautiful lawn area overlooking the bay. The attendant in the office did not have a smile, seems subdued and was not friendly. She was probably stressed however, as guests, we needed a happier, greeting.😁. But we will go back again!

I think we were the only folks there. The loft room we had was large, with a nice fire place. The walls are decorated with interesting artifacts. I'd stay there again. If you're \"selective\", the furniture is a little worn and there were stains on the bedroom carpet. The staff was helpful and nice.

Beautiful location, walking distance to anything you need. Comfortable rooms, but…I would advise ensuring the upstairs neighbors do not have heavy feet, because you will not sleep at all.

We unfortunately did not have a balcony view ( the bay is beautiful) Lou, the hotel manager? receptionist ? should get 5 stars. Great hospitality! The location was great, and I would give it 5 stars had we gotten a room with a view . Unfortunately our view was the back of a restaurant. Great location and I would recommend it to other travelers .

This was such a lovely place to stay. It was beautiful, clean, quiet and the location was perfect. There were lots of places to eat within walking distance too. The staff is exceptional! They truly made my stay wonderful. I would recommend a staying here. It's well worth the cost.

I had an amazing stay at Backside Bay Inn! I booked a balcony room and was blown away by the gorgeous view of the Bay—especially for the great rate I got. The room was spotless, and the entire property was beautiful to walk around. I genuinely wish I could’ve stayed longer.
Big shoutout to the manager, Dan the Man. I arrived late at night, and he made the after-hours check-in completely seamless. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, which made a huge difference after a long day of travel.
I definitely plan to stay here again in the future!

Great property on the water with nice grounds and sitting areas. Staff was friendly and helpful. Couple great breakfast options snd saw a restaurant and bar with live music within a block of the hotel. Fantastic walking trail about 5 minutes away too. Would definitely return.

Slept well but shared parking with restaurant

The property photos, all show the upgraded images. Our room was in a non upgraded room with tiny old bathroom and no counter space for toiletries in a small strip of rooms attached to a Thai restaurant where they started equipment before 8am. The property has beautiful grounds but we wish they had put us back away from the noisy neighbors. Could use a new bed.

The staff was very friendly, able to start the check in process since we were early and allowed us access to the grounds before the room was ready for us. The room was very clean and comfortable, the garden was beautiful, and overall was one of the best stays.
The fan in our bathroom started acting up and the response was almost immediate to get it fixed. If we come back to the area, we plan to stay here again. Thank you Back Bay Inn!

We had such a wonderful time at Back Bay Inn! The bungalow was cozy, private, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. We loved how dog-friendly the property was, it made the trip so much easier and more enjoyable. Buffy our dachshund loved it. Check-in was a breeze, and everything felt smooth and stress-free from start to finish. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful stay with comfort and charm!

The “garden view” rooms look upon cars and a small parking lot with the garden beyond so that was not entirely honest. I can appreciate we are in a quiet country area but the tiny shower stall, tiny bathroom sink, and single narrow glass shelf (only wide enough for a tube of toothpaste) did not “read” as the 3.5 star hotel it claims to be. The location however is gorgeous but it is not a 3.5 star hotel. It also smelled so strongly of bleach when we arrived we had to open all the windows and the door. Again, a very low budget experience.

The property was nice. The garden room isn’t really looking onto a garden. It’s adjacent so that was a little bit disappointing. But the grounds are very lovely and taken care of nicely. Although my room did look out onto a dead hedge.
I enjoyed that there were two cats that popped around every once in a while. The service was very good. Everything I needed was taken care of right away. The room I was in was showing some signs of aging. But I understand it’s hard to keep everything fresh when there’s so many people going through. I wish there’d been a microwave, but they didn’t have that and no kettle for tea in the room. But I could use the Keurig for hot water.
All in all, it was a very pleasant place and I recommend staying there.

The room we stayed in was called the Garden Room, and we assumed it had a garden view as opposed to the ocean view rooms. Instead it was one of 4 Garden Rooms that were in a sad, separate building away from the bay and the lovely main building. Just out the front door was a parking lot, and our room was adjacent to a Thai restaurant. For the expensive price and 4.5 star Expedia luxury rating, we expected more. It was a real disappointment after viewing the beautiful photos online. When our neighbor shut his door, it reverberated loudly in our room. There was no air conditioning. The shower stall was tiny with no shelf to place your shower items. The nozzle does not adjust so depending on your height you may get sprayed in the face.
On the positive side, it was clean, nicely furnished, with comfortable beds. Pretty potted plants were placed outside the door and back window, and you could walk to a lovely garden and lawn with a bay view near the main building.
The price for the Garden Rooms needs to be much lower than the price for other rooms on the property. If the owners had been more transparent about the less than ideal location of the Garden Rooms we would not have felt duped.
Also we selected pay on arrival but were charged in advance - not a big deal to us but irritating.

This property is in a pretty location but there just isn’t much around to do and nothing to eat after 9. Our room was fine. Nothing great but it worked for one night. Very noisy though and hard to sleep through the noise. Staying in downtown Morro Bsy would have been better. Staff was great.

The furniture looked like they had found it on the curb. There was no table big enough for a meal. There was no night light so it was dangerous to get up at night. The TV was on a light switch by the door. The staff didn't know about it. The door hardware was old, cheap and insecure. There was no heater in the bathroom.
On reflection, the daily rate was outrageous for the setting, the room and the overall experience. I would not recommend it. I never saw another guest for the days I stayed. I know why now.

Nice, clean, quiet, well-maintained property in an excellent, safe location. Several nearby restaurants are in walking distance. This is my 2nd time staying at this Inn, and I will definitely return when I'm back in the area. This is a dog-friendly facility that charges $30/night per dog, which is on par compared to other places that permit dogs.
