I purchased three nights at the Morro Crest through Expedia which stated it was pet friendly. We arrived on the 24th of June and had a quiet night. The next afternoon I got a call from the office that they were demanding us to leave because of the pet. I argued with him that it was registered as a assistive pet and that did not seem to matter. They told me if we didn't leave they would call the police. We called the police to find out what our options were and they said they would not come out on a call like that that it was ridiculous since they advertise their pet friendly. Disgusted we left the next day I did not get a refund on my room I have file the complaint with the Department of Justice for a violation of the American with Disabilities Act. My advice is if you want to stay here don't bring your animal there was nothing else that was particularly good about this property. David

The good: Location, cleanliness, easy parking.
The questionable: staff was not friendly or helpful, check-in was very late afternoon (4 pm), questions were curtly answered, TV service was poor at best, sounds from neighbors transmitted easily through the walls.
Summary: OK for an overnight crash pad, because it’s one of the least expensive for the area. But to stay a while to take in the attractions of the area, I would recommend paying a little more for a better room.

I enjoyed a very clean room, friendly and accommodating staff. Viki in reception was kind, helpful, friendly, and a delight to speak with. The location made it easy to walk to visit the bay front on the Embarcadero, to take in restaurants and shops, and to enjoy the sea life, and beaches near the rock. There were baby otters and an abundance of sea lions. Being also close to downtown encouraged a visit to the farmers market and lovely shops such as Made in Morro Bay and a great bakery with discounted goodies. This is a pleasant economical motel with good free parking.

The location was wonderful. Walking distance to farmers market, restaurants, and waterfront. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately, the beds were uncomfortable and not stable. The shower did not drain while using and the bathroom was very small.

The motel Staff are always kind and accommodating. There is plenty of parking, the rooms are surprisingly huge for the price you pay. Customers should consider this a blessing in disguise because there is no other motels around that offers this much for such an affordable, amazing deal. It's no wonder they are always busy. So book in advance so you can get the best rate!

We reserved a room, to find out the room was double booked and they moved us to a nearby sister property that was a vacation rental. The place was nice size but the room initially smelled of heavy paint, only to realize the under tone scent was heavy curry. The couch for the tv/sitting was on a futon with a thick metal frame that we could feel under us… not comfortable. the new room with $10 less rate was not at all comparable, so we are very disappointed with our stay by any means.

The room was clean and quaint. The heater worked great, and while there was no AC, the ceiling fan and box fan kept things comfortable. The bathroom and shower were clean and well-maintained. The rooms are small, but perfect for one or two people—three would fit, but it would be a bit snug. The location is great, within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, and coffee spots. The lady at the front desk was very kind and friendly.

If i could give zero stars i absolutely would. Unfortunately I didnt read the yelp reviews on this place before staying here. Booked the room for 6 days. Long story short, the bed was dirty and hadnt been made, the bathroom was disgusting (fecal matter on the toilet seat and something all over the sink and mirror), towels on the floor and toilets. Oh and there was also a cat in the room. As soon as the office opened in the morning ( we were not able to sleep in the room obviously) i went in and talked to the older lady at the front desk who was extremely rude/hostile. She admitted the maid didnt clean the room because it \"wasnt on her list\". I asked for a full refund and a receipt and she said she couldnt do that and that they were going to charge me for the first night even though nothing but a chair was used for a couple of hours. Theres a lot more i could add but thats the gist of it. Save your momey, this place is absolutely terrible.

Big trucks in parking made it impossible to park. No air conditioning but did find day two a fan which also blocked out the sound of the sea gulls which were no joke noisy all night. If you just need a place to sleep and close to water then probably okay.

The Morro Crest In. Was the best wonderful suprise of our road trip! The front desk was kind and helpful, the room was the best in our opinion! This was such a cute, small adorable motel! The price was right and the location even better. Cute room, nice shower, comfortable bed (mini shampoo/soaps). I liked that there was a table with 2 chairs, a ceiling fan and dimmable light. The parking was tiny, but it worked! Super friendly staff. Easy check in and out. Will definitely stay again.

The room we stayed in had a thick coat of dust on the wall as if it had not been cleaned in months. (See photos attached) We did not see the filth until the next morning, when we both woke up super congested. The clerk had zero customer service skills. She took personal offensive about practically everything I said when I showed her the photos of the room and asked her to come upstairs to view it for herself. She refused to come look at it and said “I’m not going in that room because I have allergies!”. I explained to her that I just wanted to have a clean room to stay in and not be charged $250 for a filthy room. She started blaming the owner, the housekeeper… saying it was housekeepings fault because they didn’t know how to speak English. When we spoke to housekeeping and showed her the issue, she kept saying Manager… Manager.
At best, this property is horribly managed and apparently the owner doesn’t really care how the guests feel about their stay.
In addition, there were no amenities at this hotel of any kind.
I have submitted pictures showing the thick coating of dust that was on the wall. It obviously hadn’t been cleaned in months at best. Both the owner and clerk refused to do anything to compensate us for the condition of the room the night we stayed. We had to change hotels to finish out our weekend. I highly recommend that everyone stay anywhere but at this place for health reasons alone. Who knows what else they don’t clean properly. BEWARE

From the outside it looks like most motels in many small towns in CA - regular. But never judge a book by its cover! The room was clean, the bathroom was also clean and modernized considering the age of the building. Overall it was a pleasant surprise to stay at this motel. Also, its location is within walking distance to a bunch of downtown stores, eateries and the like. If the need arises again in the future we would stay at this motel.

Stayed a night, clean room, bathroom, everything was excellent. No Air conditioning as was already informed, kept 1st floor windows open for fresh air. Surprised to see a huge walk-in closet with doors removed. Toilet tank valve leaks draining water all the time so had to turn off supply at night to stop hearing the sound all night. Parking is limited and a hopeless vacationer had parked over the lines occupying two spots. All restaurants at the marina are walkable. Overall wonderful stay.
