CONS 1. I don't like carpet in a hotel room 2. The drain in the shower was slow to drain and came back up (gross). So I had to stop the shower lather up and turn back on to rinse. 3. No YouTube (we watch old movies and other things on there 4. We watch Fox news and it had no sound. Kind of weird to us. Every other station had sound. So if course we couldn't watch that station.
PROS. 1. microwave 2. High ceiling 3. Bed was comfy but bedding looks old. 4. The lady at the desk was so friendly. I'm not sure if I would stay again.

The AC was on a timer from the Edison Co that shuts it down from 8pm to 8am. No air, no movement. It got quiet warm we had to sleep out of the sheets and blankets. We will not stay here again.

The view was amazing! Just a hop, skip and a jump from all the shops.

The owner was very friendly and super sown to earth. My family and I were very impressed with the room. Unlike the other places we've stayed at, Avalon Inn didn’t have people at all hours of the night making noise, running up and down the hall, etc.

I would highly recommend this place. Definitely worth the price. We're definitely coming back!

The room was clean and roomy. Check in was seamless and staff friendly. The only drawback was that the air conditioner would not stay on for any length of time and we were told this is a recurring problem, in part because the unit is inches away from a bed making the unit's thermostat think the room is cooler than it is. The remote for the television wasn't working and the young man at the front desk couldn't solve the problem, so he generously let us use the master remote. Would stay there again.

The good… location, comfortable beds, size of room.
The bad… The room was very noisy, from the traffic on the street to being able to hear the couple above us having s** above us for 20 minutes in the middle of the night (the bed sounded like sawing). The room was quite bright and the window coverings need to be thicker. The tile was very slick. The room needed a deep cleaning, there was a coat of dust on the ceiling fan. The room had an odd smell and the room needs updated, unscratched furniture.

The facility was safe, comfortable and clean.
The staff was delightful, helpful and friendly.
We'd stay here again without any question.
However, I would prefer NOT to stay in the same room abutting the electrical equipment room (104) which had a slight continuous buzzing noise from the buildings water heater system. It wasn't unpleasant just constant and it in fact didn't impair our great night of blissful sleep.
We definitely would recommend spending your time here!

Mediocre in Morro

It appears there are dozens of similar motels in Morro Bay to choose from. This one lacks towel racks in the bathroom and no closets, with not a single hangar for your clothes. The furniture is worn out and falling apart. It's ok for a night or two but don't expect much. On the plus side, saw hummingbirds from the room's small balcony. Low occupancy meant plenty of parking.

The staff were polite and helpful, though one night stay. The room was spacious but in serious need of updates. Paint peeling off the very inexpensive furniture. No freezer in the fridge and the toilet was not secured to the floor.

I have stayed at fireside in numerous times, I have always felt that check-in has been so easy and I’ve always felt safe being there. It’s walkable distance to my favorite coffee shop and bookstore. There are numerous dining options that are also within distance.

This hotel should be a $60/night not $250.
It is old. I could hear noise form other rooms that kept me awake past 2am. The only good thing about it was the location. The bed was OK, (a bit hard).
No water stream in the shower.

The person on the phone was lovely the accessibility room was great but one of the staff thought the ramp for my wheelchair was the perfect place to chain up his bike it was there in the afternoon and first thing in the morning blocking the sidewalk and the ramp so I couldn't safely leave the room

We were welcomed by a very nice and friendly desk clerk. The room was exceptionally clean and modern. This is the nicest place we have stayed in Morro Bay. We will certainly return. The two downsides were that the wi-fi was too slow to stream a movie and the seagulls pooped all over our car!
