Breakfast and food were and staff was helpful and nice it was overall a really nice place and not far at all from the shops and beach. Only negative things were there was hair on the bed when we got there under the blankets. Weird stains on the base of one bed. A weird red candy or pill on the floor we didn’t wanna touch it so we don’t know exactly what it was. There was a hotel cup under the bed, air conditioning didn’t work. Other than that it was comfortable

The bed was terrible, felt like I slept on springs. The breakfast wasn’t the best, consider more options. The stay overall wasn’t worth $600 for the weekend. Upgrading the beds would be a plus. And not charge so much for a view of an abandoned house and cars. I would reconsider staying here again. Over priced!

The hotel and hotels.com allowed me to book this hotel even though they were closed and were never going to let me check in that night. I booked the hotel after 9 p.m. on my way up the coast after a 7 hour drive. When I arrived at the hotel there was no staff and no one to help me check in and a sign that they had already closed at 9 p.m. and wouldn't be back till the next day. There is no after hours number to anybody or any way to contact someone to help us. I contacted hotels.com and by the time I finally talked to a human they told me that I should have arrived sooner even though I booked the hotel after they had already been closed. By that time it was after midnight and I couldn't even book another place online. The hotels.com representative was so unhelpful and indifferent they literally told me to just go around and knock on doors of other hotels to find a place to stay. This was easily one of the worst booking fiasco's I've ever dealt with and I've been through a lot. Never will I use hotels.com or recommend them and I have no idea what happened to Masterpiece hotel. When we showed up there was also people running all around being noisy as hell and rummaging through stuff since there was no one to watch anything. I've stayed here quite a few times and it has always been great. It's sad to see it so bad and have no help for its patrons. We ended up finally finding a place an hour and a half later and spent an obscene amount of $. Still no refund/help from hotels.com

We booked a room with a balcony to be able to sit outside and enjoy the view and the weather. Unfortunately the room they gave us had a solid concrete wall that was about 5 feet high, you couldn’t even sit on it. The breakfast lady was mad about something and was mumbling and slamming stuff not caring who was in her way. The person checking us in and out was pleasant but not very friendly. The room was okay, beds were comfortable and it was clean. We decided to try this hotel again after years of it being a regular stop for us but sadly I don’t think we’ll be going back.

It’s an old beach hotel as most are in Morro Bay. It’s decently clean and maintained in comparison to others in the area. The only major complaint is the extreme price gouging over a holiday weekend, we paid triple the average for a basic room.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times in the past and always loved the extra it provided. This time our room was right on the street. Very very noisy from traffic. Tried to open the sliding glass door to go out to balcony but it would only open about 2 inches and wouldn’t slide. There’s no ac which I was aware of but I wanted cool air to come in late at night but wouldn’t get the sliding door to slide. No one at front desk. In the past, the breakfast was amazing. Made to order. Made guest feel extra special but this time there were apples, bananas, oatmeal and small cut egg sandwiches. No bagels, muffins, waffles, cereal etc. like most other hotels. The tv didn’t work. Had to call someone. They did come up and reset it but still didn’t work. My son unplugged it and worked on it to finally get the channels. The sheets and bed cover had stains and there was hair in the bathroom from prior guests. The fridge froze all our food (milk, avacados, etc). The spa and gym were nice. Unfortunately for the price I won’t stay there again and that is heartbreaking as it’s always been such a nice place to stay.

We got the room with the hydro tub which was really awesome and such a cool thing to have in a room, it was like a little spa getaway which was nice. The staff on the other hand was really rude. We got overcharged and they did nothing but make us feel like we didn’t know what we were talking about! We were charged for early check in which was expected and the $100 hold, but they charged the early check in twice, we mentioned this to the front desk and they argued with us and just stated that all that will come out is the $134, yet we have two charges for the $34. They did not seem to care that we had a specific budget and had no compassion whatsoever. Also the breakfast is very standard when it supposedly had excellent ratings. The room and location were great, as well as parking but due to the horrible customer service we will not be coming back.

The bedding was honestly perfect — super comfortable and made it easy to relax after a long day. The shower was another highlight with great water pressure and consistently hot water. The toiletries provided were also really nice, and there were plenty of clean towels stocked in the room.

We also loved having complimentary breakfast and coffee in the morning, which made the stay feel even more worth it. Unfortunately, the rooms have old carpet with an odd smell, balcony was tiny with no chairs, unable to seat or enjoy the view as it looked towards an old garage with junk in it. The pool is heated, but very very small. The breakfast was poor with limited options.. only oatmeal, one type of croissant, apples and drinks. My kids did not enjoy it and didn't want to eat it. The room was clean and the staff is nice. I have gone there several times and have always been happy with it before, but this time was different. The bed was as hard as a rock and the TV package was terrible. There were no movie channels. Most of the channels were infomercials. I could put up with both of those, but I cannot put up with the breakfast. They had some kind of croissants with meat and eggs. If you’re vegetarian they had one without meat. However, if you don’t want, or can’t eat bread, you’re pretty much out of luck! They did have oatmeal, but I absolutely hate oatmeal! Gross! I’m allergic to wheat, so croissants are out! They use to have boiled eggs, yogurt and a lot of pastries, muffins and donuts. I didn’t eat the pastries and things, but my husband enjoyed them. They used to have bread to toast too and some cereals. One of the reasons we stayed there in the past was because of their breakfast. I can’t imagine anyone with children eating croissants with spinach in them. I know that my husband wouldn’t like that either. I will call next time, to ask about the breakfast. If it’s still the same, than I will find another place to stay!
