We cannot say enough great things about The Izla Beach Front Hotel. Even before we arrived, they were very helpful & quick to respond to our requests for assistance . They helped arrange airport-ferry-hotel transportation and, after we experienced several flight delays, they were gracious enough to communicate with the shuttle service about our changes in arrival time.

Once we arrived, the beauty of the hotel and its location were immediately evident. Perfectly positioned towards the southern end of the island, away from the busier northern end, we felt at peace right away.

We highly recommend the all-inclusive package if you plan on sticking around the hotel for most of your trip as we did. It was well worth it.

This brings us to our favorite part of our vacation: The hotel staff. Always pleasant; always friendly. They made us feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. Something we haven’t experienced much even traveling domestically. We honestly can’t say enough about them. We wish we could remember all of their names, but frequency brings memory.

At breakfast and lunch, Crisandra & Sharon greeted us as we entered the Izla Cafe. Upon being seated, we were once again welcomed by Gerardo, Carlos, Rodrigo, or Russel, but usually all four. They greeted us like old friends each time. In the evening, Jose Luis was there to make sure our dinner needs were met.

Speaking of needs, Virgilio & Reyes were more than happy to oblige ours at the poolside bar. We can’t wait to return.

I stayed at Izla Hotel last year with a friend. We had an amazing time and no complaints. This year I went with some other people, hoping we would get the same experience. We did the all-inclusive and enjoyed all of the food and drink drinks that we had. The staff were lovely, especially the bartenders. They really went out of their way to get to know us and make sure that we had a great time. The beds were comfortable and we slept well

The hotel was very clean and in a perfect location right on the beach. The staff were very welcoming/friendly and most were always very helpful. However there were a couple of staff members who were quite rude and dismissive which was very disappointing!! But we would like to mention Josue (rooftop bar) who was AMAZING and very friendly and accommodating!!

We had a foul smell coming from the bathroom, so after complaining the staff were very apologetic and immediately upgraded us to an ocean view room.

The only negative to this hotel was the food. It quickly became very repetitive and boring as it was pretty much the same food every day/night as part of the all inclusive package (all inclusive menu was different to the normal menu with very limited choice!!). And we didn’t even know about the special dishes when there was an Italian night. I think the hotel management should review their food and have more buffets in the evening and different types of dishes as it quickly became apparent that most of the guests were eating out and the restaurant was empty most evenings.

Overall we had a lovely relaxing stay at this hotel.

I stayed for 3 nights. The staff was very polite, and everything looked very clean. The room was spacious and very nice. The beach is not that great, so I only swam in the pool, which was wonderful. We also traveled to Playa Norte for a better beach experience.
The only thing I didn’t like about this hotel, and probably the reason I wouldn’t come back, is that I was given a room close to the entrance. My room was probably the sixth one from the lobby, and I could hear a lot of people talking loudly during the night, as well as the neighbors next to me. I even heard the couple next door arguing outside their room around 2 a.m., which was very sad.
Since sleep is a priority for me during vacation, this was a big issue. All three nights I didn’t get a good night’s sleep. Maybe if I had a room on the second or third floor it would make a difference, but on the first floor and so close to the lobby it was very noisy, both in the morning and at night.
Other than that, the hotel was very good. Even though I really liked the hotel, resting and getting good sleep during my vacation is a priority for me, so I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

When we arrived at the hotel we asked for a bottle of water and they didn't gave any at the reception. We had to pay 80 pesos for a bottle of water at their restaurant. The hotel is at the south end of the island far away from the market and other amenities. They only have one restaurant. Very small beach front with sea weed all over.
There is no fridge in the rooms and ice machine was out of service. For two days we asked for a coffee in our room and they ignored our request.
I give them 1 star.

Poor and slow service. I didn't stay all- inclusive stagf barely acknowledged my presence. Food came cold and was given 2 separate bills accumumating extra fees. Extremely expensive transportation 150USD option from hotel to airport. Extremely expensive experience for such poor over all service and food.

The hotel is quite nice. All of the rooms have a view of the water, though rooms at the ends of halls definitely can see more of it. The room I had was quite spacious and quite comfortable. Would’ve liked a desk or a small table though. Some rooms do have these… the bathroom is quite large with dual sinks and a very large walk-in shower. The toilet is in its own cubicle within the bathroom. The air conditioning was very efficient and the room came weight a ceiling fan.. after a few nights of too cold or too warm, I managed to get the room comfortable with the air conditioning set to 23 and the ceiling fan on. The balconies are quite large and offer a couch/lounger with padded cushions and a small table with two chairs. The main pool is quite nice with many lounge chairs - some in the water and some on the deck - make for a lovely way to spend the day. There is also a poolside bar but drink delis er service is very slow. The bar onsite was very hot inside every time I visited it. A spotty TV signal made watching the Olympics a bit frustrating. With long pauses of no signal and the tvs all frozen. The restaurant at the hotel is not very good. Quite bland would be the nicest thing I can say about it. The restaurant at the hotel next door is slightly better.. and if you are willing to walk about four minutes there is a very good little restaurant down the street on the opposite side and maybe 150 metres away. My wife and I at had three dinners there. The fajitas were very good!

We had a great stay at Isla Beach Front Hotel. The staff really made the experience. They were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with anything we needed.

The location was perfect for us. It’s in a quiet, peaceful part of the island, but still just a short golf cart ride to Centro, so you get the best of both world with relaxation and easy access to restaurants and shops.

The property was very clean and well maintained throughout our stay. The only minor note is that the pools are not heated, but they are kept very clean. Adding a hot tub by the pool would make this place absolutely perfect.

Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely stay here again.

Overall, it’s a very cute hotel with a nice room. However, the location isn’t ideal in hindsight, I would have chosen somewhere closer to the center so we could walk there in the evenings instead of needing transportation.
There’s only one restaurant (we chose the all-inclusive option), and the taco spot that was supposed to be open wasn’t open during our two-night stay. The Italian dinner was below average, but lunch, especially the Mexican dishes, was good, so it helps to know what to order.
Overall, it wasn’t bad, but I would have preferred to pay a bit more for a more central hotel.

The staff was very friendly but the quality of the food was terrible. We only ate there one time. The one and only ice machine was broken and there is no refrigerator in your room. The pools were nice but freezing cold. There was a nice beach although the lounge chairs were broken and need to be replaced. The hotel needs to focus on the details that make your stay more enjoyable. For instance, not having to ask for clean towels everyday.Our biggest complaint

The ALL Inclusive package we purchased was very misleading and items that were to be included were not.
Restaurant clean and lovely but the menu NEEDS to rotate items.
Very very certain our vodka (sky) was substituted for the cheaper house vodka. It is a clear taste difference. When I'd asked to taste the two varies in a taste test.... bar tender didn't deny and let me upgrade to what we rightfully paid for.
Also, all inclusive was not as delivered for menu items too. Felt very nickle-and-dimed if we wanted to have something different then on the \"list of inclusions/menus'. very cheap appeal. If we would have known from the beginning we would have just paid the extra regardless beforehand. maybe Tier the all inclusive idea.

The hotel itself was far better than we had expected. Location is fabulous if you are looking for a relaxing and stress free environment. We had the superior Ocean view room which had a gorgeous view. The room was quite large , very clean and the two queen beds were perfect. Nice large widescreen tv also, Walk in shower was enormous. Plenty of closet and drawer space. Except for the super bowl party outside, the room was very quiet. We had the all inclusive package and the food was good/very good with a wide selection.

We had one security concern which was handled in a quick and thorough manner. The management took it very seriously and the matter was resolved quickly. The staff throughout the resort were super friendly and attentive. Looking forward to a return trip in 2027!

The staff was wonderful. We especially appreciated Martin one of the wonderful servers. We did all inclusive and it was worth it if not spectacular. Some things were very good while others were not as appealing. There are few activities at least while we were there. It was clean and lovely and much less crowded than the north end of the Island.

There’s a gym with usual gym equipment in good condition. Restaurant had a good breakfast buffet. Lots of lounge chairs around pool and on beach. Room was okay staff were very nice and helpful-Food and restaurant-(stated multiple restaurants but there was only 1) were below par- stayed all inclusive and many things were not all inclusive. Told somethings were a price but then once you purchased -price was higher. A TV was set up for Super Bowl- but they wanted to charge to sit near tv and to have the buffet/drinks supplied for Super Bowl which you could get the same stuff in the restaurant. I would not chose to stay here again.

and spacious rooms. Overall a tidy well kept space.
It appears the hotel is under staffed hotel staff tries hard and are friendly. It was apparent upper management was on site, but would not adopt an all hands on deck to help when busy. When house keeping tended to our room, we were more often than not left with no hand towels, toilet paper, or bath matt. Restaurant menu was supposed to rotate between Italian and Mexican every other day, while there over 11 nights it changed once. Pool towels are the rarity to find. There is only ever 2 or 3 available at one time. Servers in restaurant, lounge and beach bar were friendly.

The rooftop pool is nice but the bar was never opened. The pools are freezing cold, would be nice if they were heated. Had to always ask for more bottles of water, wash clothes and hand towels. Our room was missing a mini fridge. The breakfast buffet is great- omelet station is really good. The buffet server's bust their butts-great service!!! The 2nd restaurant NUMA was never open. The bar service could be a lot better.

The room smelled moldy and after 2 days of coughing and congestion, I asked to change rooms. The hotel was practically empty, but they seemed like it was an inconvenience. Then after changing rooms, a pair of jeans and a charger were left in the other room, but staff had no idea where any of it went to. We asked for several days, to no avail. Staff was polite otherwise.

Hotel staff were wonderful. The rooms were clean and had beautiful views. The balcony was spacious and comfortable and the rooftop pool area was perfect for relaxation. Plenty of wonderful food options from Italian to traditional Mexican and American with fresh fruit and vegetables and omelets made to order everyday. They even cooked the fish we caught and brought back for us and it was delicious! It's in a quieter spot on the island so it's good for children. Restaurants and bars within walking distance.

Property was very clean and pretty quiet. The roof top bar was hardly ever open and what restaurants were walkable closed early. We had a plunge pool room and that was the best decision we made as it was in close proximity to the main pool, bar and restaurant and steps onto the beach and into the ocean. It was also warmer than the main pool for this time of year. The beach is small but nice. The water is clear but it is kinda muddy and very shallow. Food was decent for an all inclusive. The most memorable part of our stay was breakfast with our waiter Martin! Hands down the BEST!!!!! Always ask for him!

Izla is a very clean, quiet, and peaceful place. The rooms were spotless, the bathrooms were very spacious, and the overall atmosphere felt calm and relaxing. At one point we even had the pool all to ourselves, which was a huge plus. The staff was very attentive throughout our stay.
We opted for the all-inclusive since we were looking for a romantic getaway and didn’t want to leave the property, and overall it was worth it. Breakfast was okay, dinner was great, snacks were good, and the drinks were also great. The beach area was quiet and felt private, which we really appreciated since we were trying to get away from the crowds.
The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because check-in was delayed by almost 3 hours. Our room wasn’t ready until close to 6 PM instead of the scheduled 3 PM due to housekeeping delays.
Overall, this place is amazing, private, and very clean. We would definitely consider staying again.

The entire resort was extremely clean, all of the staff was very friendly, helpful, so happy we were there. The service at the restaurant and at the bar was excellent. The staff truly enjoyed working there, you could tell. The food was excellent. Our rooms were quiet, the pool was clean and the water warm. We enjoyed everything about our stay here! Izla Hotel is well away from the hustle and bustle of the North End so it it mostly quiet and relaxing. You will need a golf cart to experience the Island. Ice Bear Bar is almost directly next door and attracts over 1,000 people a day, but they mostly stay at the bar and its beach. The staff at Izla are great, Dario the doorman is always quick with a smile and great advice on where to go for the day. Rejes at the pool bar makes everyone feel better and knows your name by the 3rd drink. The rooms are clean and the bathroom is large with a great balcony with a couch. We did not end up with the all-inclusive, which we were thankful for, as the island has so many great restaurants and coffee shops, get a golf cart and go explore! If you do buy drinks or food on resort, expect to pay more than in the States, it was usually almost double the cost of the rest of the island and always included the tip. Only the beachside restaurant ever opened the 10 days we were there with the same menu and breakfast buffet but they did have dinners on the beach and special dinners for Christmas and New Years which were extra. The beach is clean but you cant go in the water as the bottom is all mud. There is also not a lot of walking room from the resort if you like long beach walks. We enjoyed the rooftop pool as it was a little warmer and had amazing views of the turquoise waters and Cancun. All in all we enjoyed our stay but will find something else our next time.

Came a few hours early asked if room was available for check in which it wasn’t, was told to come back at 3 (normal check in time) and still wasn’t ready say around lobby for a while about 30 mins until they finally changed my room completely and put me in a different one

The beds were very comfortable and I could not feel my husband moving, so we slept well, also, great pillows! The music was a little loud till 11 pm.
Clean rooms and property, wonderful, friendly responsive staff!
The drinks were good but food was ok.
Location I would not really recommend as it is so far from the beaches. The private beach there is so small.

The staff is rude, unprofessional, non organized. Through our stay the hospitality was horrible. For snack bar on the beach it took over an hour to get our food our waiter Reyes was rude and only giving us excuses and he even kicked the bar stand out of frustration. Also the bar man Virgilio ignored us for drinks. We were also not informed we had to reserve dinner and beach tables for New Years Eve, we felt casted out as hotel guests. We spoke to the manager that the front desk told us it was general public for the beach area to celebrate New Years Eve, we were kicked out by staff. The manager came to set us up a table and he never returned and passed us a few times through the night and ignored us. For breakfast the waiters ignored us asking them multiple times for simple stuff like silverware, also if you pay in cash, you have to go to the hotel front desk because they don’t have a cashier. Also, my mother in law fell down the ramp outside of the breakfast cafe and they brushed it off and only gave her pain relief cream. They need to have grips on their ramps so people won’t slip. Overall it was a horrible stay and dealing with the staff was frustrating. For a being a 4 star hotel it felt like a 2 star.

Our room was gorgeous. Ground floor walkout with plunge pool walk 40 feet and your in the turquoise water of the Caribbean ocean. The staff would always greet you with a friendly smile and by the second day they called you by name the specialty dinner on the beach was fantastic. We had to special thanks to Ephraim for arranging a wonderful meal, both nights Reves in the pool bar along with his staff were wonderful lots of laughs around the bar top for sure

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Izla! The rooms are absolutely beautiful—spotless, modern, and very well maintained. Everything felt clean, fresh, and thoughtfully designed, which made it so comfortable to relax after a day out. We had the top floor room with the bathtub on the balcony.

The all-inclusive dining was excellent, with a great variety of options and consistently high quality. What truly stood out was the exceptional service— the restaurant and bar teams were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond by remembering specific details about what we had eaten and drank the day before. Combined with the clean, well-maintained pool and beach areas and the beautiful views, the experience felt both relaxing and genuinely personalized

A special shout-out to Yeimy at the concierge, who made our trip effortless by helping us book all of our activities and transportation at very reasonable prices. She was incredibly helpful and made sure everything ran smoothly.

We truly loved our experience and would absolutely recommend Hotel Izla to anyone visiting Isla Mujeres. We can’t wait to come back!

The staff was so helpful and kind. We didn’t not eat at the hotel. The location is more remote but nice and quiet and relaxing. We had issues due to a Bug in shower, lack of towels and mold in the room (smell of mold was strong).

The room and facilities was nice and clean. However, since we purchased the all inclusive package we were expecting a bit more variety when it came to food. They had 1 restaurant open the entire time and menu was the same EVERYDAY. You can imagine how redundant that can be for 5 days with the same food options. And it wasn’t like they had a huge list to choose from. There was another restaurant that the staff said was open for dinner (Italian) but they never opened during our 5 day stay. Needless to say we were very disappointed.

The room was okay, not very clean. Bed was comfortable. The staff super friendly. We did not have all inclusive so drinks and food were very pricy. I liked the location, you can walk to restaurants in the area. If you have small children they will love the little beach. I personally wished they clean the bottom the there would be more sand. I do not recommend staying.

We purchased all inclusive. They had the same exact subpar menu every single day! Alcohol only included cheap liquor. For two drinks with Tito’s and cranberry we were charged $40 and said that was a 50% discount. Do not waste your money at this property! They did not clean our room at all the entire 5 night stay. They made the bed and we had to ask for clean towels every single day. The floor was dirty and they never swept or mopped it.

Our stay was a week long in October. The weather was beautiful. Even when it rained it was SO warm. The staff are the most incredible humans. We have pictures with them we plan to send back. We had the ocean front room with a pool on the patio. The patio pool is small but nice to take a dip after being in the ocean. I would recommend bug repellant of some sort if you want to spend any time in the pool at night time. The mosquitoes are insane. The big pool is gorgeous and was practically empty the whole stay. There is also an adults only pool on the top floor. It is more of a lounge pool than a swim pool. It was also empty 99% of the time. The beds and pillows were fairly comfortable. Shower was clean, had good water pressure. The only thing I would say is that if you are doing the all inclusive and are there longer than a week, the food may get boring.We tried everything on both menus. There was not any food that wasn't delicious. Our favorite was the tomato cream soup, I could eat that every day forever. It was exactly the relaxing vacation I had hoped for. Thank you to Jose Luis, our favorite waiter, along with Ninette, Adrian(bartender), Julio, Arturo, and anyone else we missed. We will definitely be back to this resort.

Snorkeling: We saw a small ray and lots of fish just swimming off the shore. We took a snorkel excursion with a company we booked at the hotel and saw ray, barracudas, and lots of colorful fish.

The hotel is clean and the employees were freindly. This place is not family friendly though. They blast loud music at the pool bar until 11pm most nights but sometimes even later. The roof top pool/bar was rented out for a private party when we were there that had room shaking base until 2:30am, I could literally hear every word to the songs from our fourth story room. The food in the restaurants is mediocre at best. Make sure that if you pay with a card you see the server enter the amount due because they will add their own tip without your knowledge so we tipped again with pesos. The room ventilation system is not great, the floor and bed are constantly wet from the humidity and the rooms are very musty. We stayed here hoping to be away from the craziness of playa Norte but unfortunately that didn’t work out and we didn’t not get much rest. The area is nice and there is some tasty restaurants a few minutes driving down the road. We really enjoyed Kin Ha day club which is close by.

The hotel was in decent condition but was older and needed updating.It was clean and staff was friendly. Food left us with indigestion and bloated.We had all inclusive and our friends paid same price as us and they also booked through Expedia and when they arrived their reservation did not have all inclusive on it and Expedia was impossible to get a hold of and when we’d finally get through to someone we would get disconnected.when we got to an agent they said nothing they could do about it. Terrible!

I feel this hotel flies under the radar. Seems too good to be true, but it’s true.
The staff are phenomenal. Attentive and personable.
The hotel is a little dated. If you’re expecting a 5* American resort, this isn’t quite that, but it doesn’t pretend to be either.
Great food selection, surprising affordable, and quiet location. I could see sun chairs being hard to find if it’s full, but we didn’t have any issue.
You will have to cab to the Centro district, and playa Norte, so keep that in mind. It’s about 10-15$ each ride. You can rent a golf cart across the street a block down, and you can walk 15 minutes to the centre of the island town area, and 20m or so to the rainbow stairs. Overall I’d highly recommend as home base to explore from.
The all inclusive package was also a great value. They have a buffet or a la carte, depending on the day, and you can just order anything you want.(just be sure to still tip like you were paying) there are some restrictions for premium brands or lobster, but they offer you a steep discount on those should you wish to order them.
10/10 experience. We plan to go back.
