We had a beautiful room with a walk-out to the quiet pool. The room was well appointed, fairly large and very comfortable. We had no issues getting cabana chairs by the pool because we are early birds. We appreciated that the chairs with shade were first come-first serve so no extra charge. The pool and beach service was super quick and we never found ourselves waiting too long.

Overall, the beach is just ok. The view is beautiful but the shore is quite rocky and had so much seaweed we didn’t even attempt to get in to the ocean. The pool was beautiful and impeccably well maintained. The pool activities were kept pretty quiet. In fact, we didn’t even realize they were happening across the pool. We would have preferred the pool to be a bit more lively. But, if you’re looking for quiet relaxation, this is the place for you! There wasn’t food service offered at the pool but we went in to the buffet which is near the main pool and grabbed a snack if we needed it and brought it out to the pool.

The buffet and restaurants were all fantastic! We loved the crepe station at breakfast. Our favorite restaurants were the French and Mexican. The Italian was also good and we felt Ember was just ok. But, every person we talked to had a favorite restaurant. There wasn’t any bad options. It is just a matter of personal preference. We went to dinner around 6:30 every night and never once had to wait for a table.

The evening shows in the theater were very well done and I would recommend!

Joia Paraíso falsely presents itself as a 5-star resort. In reality, it is barely a 3-star property, and that is being generous.

The rooms were dirty, unsanitary, and filled with strong musty odors. The smell was so severe that we were forced to demand a room change. Even after relocation, the replacement room was still not properly cleaned, clearly indicating systemic housekeeping failures.

Room service was unacceptably slow, and nearly every request was met with attempts to charge additional fees. When these issues were escalated, management displayed complete indifference, responding with rigid policies instead of solutions. There was zero hospitality mindset.

On Christmas Eve, we requested a specific dining time and were deliberately pushed to a late seating. A server explicitly stated this was because we booked through Expedia, confirming discriminatory treatment based on booking source. This is not only unprofessional—it is unacceptable.

Despite the resort having fewer than 300 guests, staff aggressively controlled seating areas and restricted where guests were allowed to sit, creating an unwelcoming and hostile environment. The resort was slow, yet operated with arrogance instead of service.

The food quality was low-grade and unsafe. Multiple members of our group suffered gastrointestinal illness, requiring a visit to the on-site clinic. Being charged for medical care resulting from food served by the resort is unacceptable.

My wife and I loved our stay at Joia by Paraiso. We took a 10 day vacation away from our busy lives and the kids. The staff was always friendly and gave generally great service. The food at the buffet varied every night and was amazing. We tried the restaurants and the food was a little too fancy for us so we don’t have much of an opinion here other than sometimes the service there was good and sometimes it was just ok.
The entertainment team was great. There are many activities everyday and they keep things fun. Jules, Raymundo, Pedro, Cassadra and Mala stood out to me. The daily crazy games are a must.
The pool bar is the place to be in the afternoon and the barmen there give a great service (Luis, Saulo and Gabriel).
You get access to all the other lobbies as well which is great. Golf course right on site, I didn’t get to play on this trip but some other guests had good comments on the course conditions.
We went scuba diving with Dressel Divers that have a dive center right on site (it’s at another lobby so a 5-10min golf cart trip), we purchased a package that included different dives and it was great (we’re certified divers).
The rooms were the best i’ve had in any all inclusive resort even if we got the basic room.
We didn’t always go to the shows but when we did they were pretty good. The rock show was absolutely amazing with the lead guitarist being the best i’ve seen live performing all the solos.
We loved our trip and chances are that we will be back at this resort.

Place was amazing. I took my wife there for her birthday. The food was amazing. Room was amazing. The staff was beyond friendly. I loved the fact that when you got a beer they gave you a can and there wasn’t a towel checker either.

It is a 100% encapsulated site. So you really can’t leave the property unless you take a cab. The stores are quite expensive on a relative basis. So make sure you have everything you need. It is a 5 star world class resort, be prepared to be impressed

The resort was an amazing experience. The property is breathtaking. The service was great from the start and never let up. The staff was sincere and kind. They made us feel welcomed and appreciated. The food was very good for resort standards. I had some of the best tacos I’ve ever had from their restaurant near the beach. The pools were in nice clean condition. It was very nice seeing the wild life animals pop up outside. It’s a resort I would love to visit again. Housekeeping kept the room nice and fresh. The shows within the resort were top notch.

The only downside is the Boomer fest who were in the resort. It was a very old crowd. Sometimes you’ll catch them giving you a stare. I mean you’re in Mexico. You shouldn’t be shocked seeing a Mexican American staying at the resort. You can tell some are just stuck in the old days. I was hoping to be part of a young vibrant crowd. This is something out of the control of resort.

This stay was to celebrate our 21 year anniversary. This was our first big trip out of the State/ International and it was the best experience. I am not sure how next years vacation will live up to this trip.
It was the best relaxing but exciting fullfilling times we have ever had.
The service was incredible they made you feel like you were the president or someone very important from the bellmen to the cafe shop everywhere you felt wanted to be there and everyone had such good attitudes.
We loved it can't wait to go back.

Absolutely a beautiful property! The staff was amazing! Gabrielle and Fatima always had smiles on their face and we’re there to help us with anything we needed! The food was excellent. We never had a long way to sit. Especially loved embers steakhouse. The buffet was by far the best buffet we have ever been to. I had great selections of food some days we ate there for all three meals. They had really fun activities set up. Fernanda was especially our favorite. She was so upbeat and positive and always got everyone involved in the activities. We had such a great time with a wonderful day. We would definitely come back.

Food selection was fine. Some selections could have been warmer especially breakfast. Lunch and dinner at the buffet was good. Not fond of Mexican restaurant. Italian and Japanese were good. The thing that stands out the most about this property was the outstanding service. Everyone was genuinely happy to assist you and make your stay pleasant. It was rare to pass by any staff member who didn’t smile and say hello and that included landscaping and maintenance staff. Wildlife at the site was also entertaining.

The corner Butler Ocean suite was one of the best views I’ve ever had in Mexico. This is an amazingly beautiful property. They have a lot of beautiful spots to take photos. I had my wedding ceremony here. I would not suggest having a two person wedding at this resort, but I think it would be amazing for large wedding parties where you can get help from family and friends with getting ready for your wedding, and taking good photos. Our best photos were selfies on my iPhone. The photographer didn’t follow directions for the main photos that I paid extra for. The minister was phenomenal. He gave a beautiful service. We got married in the garden area inside the lobby. It is such a beautiful area for a wedding.

This is by far the best resort I have ever stayed at. I will definitely be back again! Thank you to Fatima our butler and Ricardo our driver who went beyond and above for our stay. I love how the resort does not use plastic! If there was one complaint it would be to have a sign up system for pickleball so more people can participate. The food was great, the views, the app, shows, and most importantly the staff! This is a big resort!

We also took advantage of several of the fit and fun classes they offered. The boot camp, strong, and kick boxing sessions were all great workouts with engaging and energetic trainers.
