The Best Western in Welland is like our \"home away from home\" -- from the front desk staff (all shifts) to the room cleaners -- and Deihdra (sp?) who does an exceptional job with the substantial breakfast that Best Western is deservedly well known for , out stay over the years has always been an outstanding experience .

Staff was pleasant and helpful. The single issue with the suite was handled immediately by the maintenance person who couldn't have been nicer. Beautiful living space and clean. Breakfast was good and had a variety of food as I expected. Coffee was available past breakfast time as I like to have a second cup. Walking path for the canal was behind the building and we walked the mile up to the Bridgewater Brewery which was excellent.

Front check in clerk was exceptional. Trinity is a gem of an employee. Her positive upbeat demeanour and her attention to detail in explaining everything we needed to know, before we even asked was appreciated. Not often do we encounter a person who takes such pride their work. As the first person guests encounter, the face of the hotel, she should be complimented for doing an impressive job.

There is stomping sounds when people are walking above the room. The breakfast options are limited and there is a big problem with a cross contamination because sausages and eggs are placed in one container. Their management needs to be mindful of people with dietary restrictions. The kitchen lady is not at all welcoming. She is always watching for people who are making waffles. The breakfast room is terribly small.

Clean & Comfy Stay

We had a wonderful stay at this Best Western location. The check in staff was friendly and welcoming. The suite was very clean and perfect for our family of four. The kids were disappointed to learn that there was no swimming pool, but they enjoyed their stay. There is a river directly behind the hotel that allows swimming and there are life vest rentals. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast which includes scrambled eggs, ham, potatoes, bagels, English muffins, yogurt and waffles from 7am-10am daily. The bathroom offers complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The lamps all have USB charging stations and the suite offered a stove top, mini fridge, plates, bowls, utensils, dish soap, coffee maker, tea, coffee and wash clothes. We will be back!

Staff provided excellent service. Bed was super comfortable and the room spacious and clean. A separate bedroom with its own tv. Would definitely stay again. There isn’t really anywhere to walk close by - the downtown is not very nice. However, just alongside the hotel is a lovely pathway along the water with “The Docks” where you can rent kayaks, peddle water bikes or paddle boards. Nice seats to sit by the water as well.

Best Western for Sure

We checked in later than expected and were warmly welcomed. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room, with a separate bedroom, a compact kitchen area, etc. A nice breakfast was included. At check out, we mentioned we were going to go see one of the Welland Canal locks. The attendant kindly provided information and directions to the Lock 3, notable for its viewing platform. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.
