Overall a very comfortable stay. There were a few things that stood out that made it less appealing. The toilet paper holder needed replacing and there was no place to get ready with a mirror except the washroom. The washroom had no place to put toiletries.

For the price, we were happy with our stay.

We had everything we needed for our stay, including TVs on the bedrooms with Netflix for our kid (wifi was working fine).

The property has been upgraded over the past two years. We stay here at least twice each summer to attend events at the Welland International Flatwater Center. It’s a safe and comfortable place to stay. My only complaint is that there is nothing offered for breakfast. Not even coffee or tea! With the price being charged(comparable to hotel prices) some food and drink options are expected.

Disappointed and Disgusted

When we first checked in, the front desk attendant told us the air conditioning was not working and that we could decide whether or not we wanted to stay before we checked in.
This is not a last minute decision I was expecting to make. They said it would likely be fixed the next day, that would only inconvenience us for one of our 3 nights and we decided to stay. However this was just the begging. The room stunk. The bedding stunk. Only to be described as a mix of body odour and old food. Shower was dirty with a used wet cloth in the middle of the floor. There were many bugs in the room and the bed my son was staying in. The linens were not clean, we all got rashes and my wife got pink eye from using them. The staff was unfriendly and so, I was hesitant about raising any of these issues with them. Lastly, food options are absolutely terrible and what they do have is grossly overpriced. Since the condition were this terrible we also, had to go offsite for water, as bottled water is banned from the Niagara college properties.
Don’t think you’re saving anything staying here. Save your sanity and sanitation by spending a few more bucks anywhere else.

Staycation

Came to town for a Jackfish baseball game and golf the next day. Location was perfect for our stay in the area. Clean facility with friendly service, free parking and 24/7 attendant at the front desk. Felt safe while on the property. If you're looking for a no frills place to stay this is your place. Not the Royal York, but does not claim to be either. Clean, safe, comfortable, free parking, perfect for one or two nights. Only negative regarding our stay was bathroom kind of small but this will not change our plans for staying here again in the future.

I had not realized it was also a college dorm when I was searching, the lot access or more to the point exiting is lacking, a tour bus for whatever reason parked at the entrance and blocked the only way in and out, an exit only would be handy for those moments, let alone some signage for buses to drop off from an adjacent lot nearby, also signage to indicate this is in fact the place, I followed Waze and didn't note anything that indicated this was in fact the location.
Staff behind the counter was helpful, I was astonished there were no paper towels or napkins that could be from my south of the border biased expectations as this was my first time to Canada.

Pubic hair in shower, beard hair all over the sink, mold above the shower. this is not a hotel it's a dorm that they run as hotel in summer. Def not worth $100 night and the drive was a long one to it. Does feel like safe area. Very loud and mattress is hard as a rock. Very tiny bathroom! If you want just a place to shower and sleep not comfy for few hours it's ok but not much other than that. Very rundown building!! Good if you're on a very low budget

This place is NOT a hotel, it is a dingy school dorm that resembles a jail cell. The black mold and drop tiles in the bathroom, filthy floor, and dirty carpet over concrete was repulsive. Everything smelled like a locker room. The beds were rock hard, bolted to the wall and definitely not queen-sized. The bathroom and shower was ridiculously small, making it impossible to bathe children without getting drenched. The kitchenette was a joke, lacking basic appliances, plates, utensils, or even soap. Safety was also a concern with no internal door latch, only relying on an electronic lock. It's not family friendly or suitable for children. The fact that students pay to live like that is shocking. Save yourself the dorm/jail cell experience and find anywhere else to stay.

Arrogant staff, filthy carpet, stupid card keys

Stay here if you're ok with filthy hallway carpet, getting a parking ticket even though you have a valid parking pass, rude student staff who like to lecture you, and card keys that never work.
If you're lucky you get a decent clean room with fake wood floors. If not you'll get a smelly carpeted one.
I had no issues with my room as it served me very well. The beds/linen were clean and comfortable. Two things really upset me, however. First, when you check in they will give you an archaic parking card where they stamp your check out date. I got one and put it on my car dashboard, but two nights before I checked out, I got a $25 parking ticket for parking at the guest lot as usual. I was very upset, and called the number on the ticket. The city of Welland runs the parking lots there as they're part of Niagara College. So, I had to deal with them to cancel the ticket, which they did eventually, but this wasted so much of my time there! The front desk student staff was not helpful. They tried to lecture me demanding a picture of where my pass was when I got the ticket. The manager was sitting behind the window hidden from us, and could've intervened but they never did and always left everything to students there. Unbelievable. Also, my card keys never worked. Got locked out too many times there. I had to go back and forth to the front desk 6 times in one occasion because the card didn't work! They promised to fix the reader but never did. Disappointing.
