I experienced a couple of issues during my check-in process that I feel need to be brought to your attention. First, when I requested an early check-in by just one hour, I was informed that I would need to pay an extra fee.

Furthermore, when I asked the front-desk staff member for their name, they informed me that they were not allowed to provide it. This lack of transparency was quite disappointing and made the check-in process feel very unwelcoming.

Additionally, I chose this hotel because other reviews indicated it was very close to Niagara Falls. However, I found that it is actually a walk of almost a mile to get there, which was disappointing.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The location was excellent and very convenient for visiting Niagara Falls.

The breakfast was decent, but the selection was quite limited.

My main concern was the check-in experience. Although I had already paid for my reservation online, the receptionist took my credit card for a $100 security deposit. The explanation about the deposit and when it would be refunded was not very clear, and I was simply told it would be credited back within five business days. Unfortunately, my credit card was not returned to me after check-in, and I realized I had left it at the front desk. This made the experience stressful and could have been handled much more professionally.

Another downside was the parking, as there were very limited parking spaces available.

Despite these issues, the clean rooms and convenient location made the stay enjoyable. Improving the check-in process, staff communication, and parking availability would make the overall guest experience much better.

Horrible experience at Kalika Hotel!

We have stayed here before and had a good experience. We traveled to Niagara this June with my parents and stayed at the Seneca, which was awesome. We checked in for a few hours before a 3:45 AM train. Paying for a full night at the Seneca felt like a waste. Checking in was smooth, and J.J., the front desk manager, was pleasant. We checked in for a few hours before a 3:45 AM train. I was paranoid about cab availability in the dead of night, so checked out and reached the Buffalo station, only to find out it was closed until 3:15 a.m. When we found the station locked, we returned to the hotel lobby to wait safely. Instead of basic hospitality, the night receptionist aggressively refused to let us sit. He threatened to throw my family—including two seniors over 65 and an 11-year-old child—out into the streets at 2:00 AM. When my son and I sat on the empty stairs, he power-tripped again, telling us to move. The manager, J.J., finally appeared but chose to side with his employee at first (who had blatantly lied) claiming that the receptionist had offered us seating in the dining room. Absolutely false. I demanded they check the CCTV footage to see the truth. This establishment has zero compassion, zero customer service, and zero safety standards for vulnerable guests. Never staying here again. Stick to name-brand hotels and avoid Kalika Hotel at all costs.

The hotel was okay for a 1 night stay. The price was decent. My biggest complaint is that it wasn't as clean as expected. It's a 20 min walk to the Niagara Falls, which is not bad and they had a free breakfast, although very basic. They had free parking. The 3-star rating is for cleanliness.

I grabbed this hotel because it was cheap, free parking, and only a half mile from the falls. For one night it was fine, but you get what you pay for. Staff was curt and nobody was wearing a uniform - just a t shirt and jeans. Room was pretty clean but sink was backed up, shower was dirty, and faucet was very loose. Parking lot had the wrong name of the hotel on the signs. Free breakfast was a disaster - nowhere near enough tables, very limited food (basically bread and cereal) and one guy taking his time replenishing the stations. Checkout time was 11 but they turned off my key at 9.

Also FYI that there are three floors to the hotel and no elevator in case you are handicapped or have trouble climbing stairs.

they even gave us just 1 room key, when asked for a 2nd key, they refused. extremely bad experiences overall.

Hotel was clean but a little awkward with the entry and up stairs to the next floor. Also breakfast are was small and cramped and breakfast was lacking. Only bread, cereal or yogurt and the times we went for breakfast either low quantities of items or out completely. No outside entrance from the back side of the building you have to walk to the front or the one side. Other side by the pool/non operating restaurant is locked

We chose this hotel partly because breakfast was included, but the breakfast selection was extremely limited. The only options available were waffles, bread, cereal, and yogurt. The breakfast area was overcrowded, and food ran out quickly. During our visit, there was no bread available, and it was not being replenished.

We spoke with the front desk employee, who explained that he was the only staff member working at the time and could not leave the desk to restock the breakfast area. Unfortunately, this left guests without assistance and unable to enjoy the breakfast that was included in the price of the stay.

Additionally, there was an unpleasant odor throughout the property, which made the experience even less enjoyable. Overall, the lack of staff, poor breakfast service, and uncomfortable environment made this a disappointing stay.

I would not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again.

Me and my boyfriend had stayed at this hotel once before the most recent time and it was a good experience our room was clean the staff was NICE and nobody was awkwardly watching us the entire time. The room name was under my boyfriend’s name so my name wasn’t technically on the room but i had spent days there with him. He had left i lost the key to the room and had asked for help getting another key the absolutely disgustingly rude lady at the front desk did not calmly tell me that she couldn’t give me one she in return yelled it’s illegal when i asked why and asked if she could just call my boyfriend and confirm that i stay with him so i didn’t have to sit in a car for hours but she continued to be rude. She then would alert the other staff that i tried to get another key? The next morning i go to go into MY HOTEL ROOM after running to the car for clothes and the other worker asked me which room i was staying in (which isn’t typical) i tell him and he calls the room. This whole entire stay was ruined for both me and my boyfriend because everytime we stepped out of our room there was the female worker by our room being nosey and watching us, outside workers would walk past our car if we were smoking, the staff is incredibly rude and unhelpful and UNPROFESSIONAL.
