I loved this place! It was only me and I was fortunate to stay for 6 nights! Staff was very friendly. They answered all my questions. Tommy had a mini fridge and microwave oh and coffee maker. I am trying to stay in the fall but such a great place hard to find vacancy here!

This place was absolutely perfect to call home for the night! I went at the end of March so it was very cold and a lot of the shops were still closed for the season but I loved every bit of the island and this lodge luckily stays open year round which saved my butt! This place is clean, quiet, comfy, so so close to the water and right downtown where all the good stuff is! I’d stay here over and over again. The staff was so very friendly and helpful, we were thrilled with our stay!

Internet was good, TV was glitchy, air conditioner had a loud noise when in operation. The room was very clean, accommodating and comfortable. It was easy access to everything downtown. Our room was facing street side, so there was outside noise at night and could hear the horses all during the night. We enjoyed our stay on the island regardless.

Wrong description

Took my mother for her 80th birthday to the island.We reserved a two beds in a room and ended up with the room having a furniture change without our knowlege. A loveseat is not a bed. Mom had difficulty getting out of bed all night and moving around room due to this change. Told upon arrival that this was not going to be acceptable and all front desk lady said waa she would change reservation picture on the site. Told her again at check out and on the message and they did nothing but say sorry. Very disappointed. If you reserve two beds in a room you should get two beds. Had i known early on prior to arrival i would have gone elsewhere.

This is our third time on the island. We’ve stayed at some nice big Rizzi expensive places, but this place for the dollar and the location was absolutely perfect. You don’t have a nice foyer to lounge in or rocking chairs out front, but nobody’s gonna know if you use somebody down the street. Lol! We would definitely stay here again, especially if we made last-minute reservations as we did this time.

The Pontiac Lodge was the perfect stay for our weekend getaway! You approach it right when you get off the ferry. Check in was smooth. You do have to walk up a short flight of stairs to get to your room(s) but very manageable. Rooms clean, beds comfortable, downtown. Would recommend staying here!

Only drawback, it was right above the busy street so with the windows open we heard people walking by until @ 2 am, and horse hoofs clomping by (kind of charming, but…). The second night with the windows closed, it didn’t bother us. I would stay here again.

Walls are paper thin and my room was across from the office so It was hard to relax or sleep. I was woken up at 2am from the old water pipes sounding like they were going to explode. Not worth it for how expensive it was.

Great management! We went to Pontiac Lodge after the season ended and most businesses were closed down. The room was as expected - clean and nice. We originally booked for 2 nights but canceled 2nd night due to everything being closed (I should have done my research first). The owner/manager was gracious and allowed us to cancel and she was very pleasant. She made the hotel choice worth the experience. Much appreciated. I would stay here again.

Front desk staff were very helpful and nice. There are about 10 steps to reach the rooms. The room at night was not dark due to the outdoor lighting. It would be beneficial if room darkening curtains were added. The hotel is across the street from Shepler’s, which was convenient.

Check in was a breeze! We arrived to the island earlier than expected and were able to leave our bags at the hotel while we got lunch. The location is perfect; just across from the ferry dock. I would definitely stay here again.

Pontiac Lodge is a nice, affordable, well-located place to stay. It's clean, very spacious, and hearing the clip-clopping of the horses as you wake in the morning is lovely. It's neither modern nor flashy, so go elsewhere for that, but I'd stay again.

We slept great! The beds were comfortable. I didnt see an elevator, but the stairs were easy to manage and there was vending machine and ice near our room. We will be back!! Definitely recommended. 10/10

Charming decor. Outstanding location. One building away from Main Street; very walkable to the Grand Hotel. I only gave it a 4 b/c there was no elevator (and no valet to tip to haul your suitcase up the stairs) and no noise insulation. The next building was only a few feet outside our window, and there was a half inch opening under our room door allowing in all noise from the hallway as if the people were right in your room. This opening also let in light, keeping the room from getting fully dark at night.
But overall it was good and I would stay there again.
Suggestion: When you get off the ferry, tip the ferry dockworkers and they will carry your suitcases up the stairs to your room. But you still have to carry it down yourself.

Hotel room was outstanding. The front desk was incredible, she let us drop our bags and enjoy the day while they were getting the room ready. The location is directly across from the ferry landing so easy to get there and to go home. We had a corner room overlooking the main street and had a view of Lake Huron also. All the restaurants are just fown the street an easy walk. Taxi was available to go up to the Fort or the Grand. Highly recommend the Pontiac Lodge.

This hotel requires a walk up a flight of stairs, I don’t believe they have an elevator. It’s right next to the Kingston kitchen at the village inn which has great food. It’s also close to other restaurants and shops, right downtown. The room we stayed in was clean and spacious and nicely decorated. It was very comfortable. I have zero complaints about the hotel. They had a dockporter bring our bags to and from the ferry and up to our room. We had a great stay.

Really liked our room. The setup was great. Very convenient to ferry. Could have been a little cleaner. There was a used water bottle next to the base of the bed.
Also, the room could use another lamp.
