The hotel more than met expectations and was in a great location. Check in was fast and easy. There are no elevators so if stair climbing is an issue you will need a lower level floor. They provided a good continental breakfast in my building and the main building, but they do have fresh lemon water and cookies throughout the day ONLY in the main building. They should do that in all buildings. The Pedals Cafe was nice, I just wish there was more information about the Pedals Package online or provided at check in. We may have purchased it, but didn't realize it was part of their accommodations until the day before we left.

Harbor View Inn is a wonderful place to stay on Mackinac Island!
It's only a few blocks from Main Street, walking distance of 10 minutes, yet far enough away from Main Street to be quiet & peaceful.
The Inn is very clean, the staff was very helpful & friendly.
Bike rental is cheaper at the Inn than other rental places & it's a short walk of about 6 blocks to the ferry landing.
Our luggage was handled very well--picked up at the dock from the ferry & in our room before we even got there! They also transported our luggage to the ferry dock & put it on the ferry for us when we departed the island. All this was done at no cost!
I highly recommend staying at Harbor View Inn!!

Our stay at the Harbor View Inn on Mackinac Island was perfect! We will definitely return to the Harbor View Inn if we stay on the island again.

The property was beautiful and perfectly maintained. Our room was very clean and attractive; however, it was so tiny and cramped that it overrode all of the good things about the property. We understand the price being so high because of where it is located, but the size of the room was ridiculous. Also, the frosted-type covering over the glass door was totally ridiculous because of the amount of light that came through. And, for over $600 for the night, we had a view of the top of the awning over the area below.

We've stayed here repeatedly, and the recently remodeled accommodations were even nicer than before. When we arrived about 10 AM, the desk clerk assured us our luggage could be left at the hotel, and she would call when our room was ready. She did call about 2 PM, and we were allowed early check-in. Chocolate chips cookies were available mid-afternoon. We came for the Lilac Festival, and the hotel porch was the perfect vantage point to enjoy the parade. Monday breakfast was tasty, offering an interesting mix of ham, cheese, and hardboiled eggs, with mini croissants and muffins. The clerk arranged for our luggage to be transported to the dock in time for our planned departure.

The view was beautiful. The rooms were clean. It’s just the staff that needed help. They seemed very disorganized. When we checked out, we took the ferry. They explained they would deliver our bags for us. Which they did, but they were marked for St Ignes and not our actual destination- Mackinac city. My husband and I both were very clear on Mackinac city as they asked twice. But they still sent them to the wrong destination. One of the bags that they delivered they tied so tight with a knot that it ruined the bag. I couldn’t get it open my husband and I tried everything and had to cut the bag open. We stayed for two nights. We got a knock on the door on the first day and they’d ask what our name was because we weren’t even registered to the room. Yet we had checked in… And then also we had opened the windows for fresh air, and as we opened them, the screen fell out of the window. We were on the fourth floor with two children. This to us was very concerning. The views are beautiful. You can smell how fresh the carpet is as it was just remodeled. All that part of the stay was great. Again the staff is just very disorganized.

We loved our stay at Harborview Inn. It was very convenient to everything we wanted to do, but of course the island is small and I believe that most locations are quite convenient. We love that our room had a view of the harbor. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very friendly. This is a very last minute planned trip. There was a Knights of Columbus convention on the island so we were a little disappointed, not to be able to go into the grand hotel and just look around. Obviously that has nothing to do with this property and we were so happy that we chose something more centralized to the main street area and really easy to walk around anywhere we wanted to go.
