The staff was friendly and even though they couldn't give us our keys early, they did get everything filled out and signed so we went to Bridge View Park (about 5 minutes away) to see the view and learn a lot of history about the vision and eventual construction of the bridge. We went back to the hotel at 3 and they handed us the room keys. Our room was clean but smelled very strongly of garlic (or some kind of strong spice) and I found a big chunk of endive in the sink drain when I was brushing my teeth.... no, it wasn't from my teeth! Hahaha, other than that, the beds were very comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean. The view of the Mackinac Bridge out our window was decent. We were towards the end of the building on the 1st floor so there were trees impeding our view a little, but we had a view of the south tower. Some rooms have awesome views. The hot tub was down for maintenance and ice machine was out of order, which was disappointing. The breakfast was the usual continental breakfast, hard boiled eggs, cold/hot cereal, fruit, yogurt and make your own waffle maker. The waffles are delicious!

The room and beds were clean and comfortable, we were so amazed and delighted to find a room with 3 queen beds!! What a bonus! The staff was very friendly and helpful, would definitely stay again. Great location and good value. The only small thing was the breakfast, nothing fancy, just a light continental breakfast--though they did have a waffle iron. We ended up getting McDonald's, across the street, for breakfast.

The view from the 3rd floor was amazing. The room was beautiful. The only thing was the carpet was so filthy it ruined a pair of my pink socks. I just the them out. And the windows on the slider was pretty dirty. But the cleaning that was done by the maids was perfect. Maintenance needs to get the windows cleaned as well as the carpet. The front desk pale were so nice and kind. We'll definitely stay here again.

I reserved 4 rooms for 4 couples. Each room was assigned to a different couple. When the first couple arrived they were given our room. We were the second couple to arrive, the woman behind the desk realized she had made a mistake but didn't know which couple was in our room. She claimed to have straightened things out but by the time the last couple arrived they didn't have a room for them. It took 30+ minutes to get things figured out. Somehow in all the confusion, both my credit card, which was used to reserve the room, and my wife's credit card were charged for the room. When we both got alerts that we had been charged, I tried to call the hotel to fix the issue but couldn't get through to a live person. We had to pass by the hotel on our way home a couple of days later, so we stopped in to straighten things out in person. The staff was very rude and we didn't get the issue fixed. I have disputed the charge with my bank.

i purchased a lakeview room and it was well worth the extra charge. I had a very nice balcony with table and chairs. the balcony overlooked a golf course and beyond that was a beautiful view of Mackinac Bridge and Lake Michigan. Also watched fireworks that were visible from my balcony that were set off in Mackinac city.

room was spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable. The shower however had no grab bar or non-slip mats.

While the rooms were nice and had been updated the hotel as a whole was just so-so. The pool and pool room were not in great shape. One of the windows to the outside was stuck open and because of that bugs were coming in, so there were dead bugs floating in the hot tub. The floor was also pretty broken up.

All in all really not a bad hotel,

The \"breakfast\" if that's what you want to call it had hard boiled eggs, waffles and 3 options of cereal and some additional options but no breakfast meat of any kind. I just think for the amount they are charging the breakfast should be better than what it is.

Basic. Needs updating, and a deep cleaning.

Wife and I are both non-smokers, so the smell of old smoke, with a hint of mildew, in the room irratated our sinuses. It was not overwhelming, like a casino, but definitely present. I would imagine that the cleaning staff smokes ( outside of work, not in the room) so they are unaware of the smell.
