The room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows.
For breakfast; bagels, muffins, coffee, oj, yogurt. The ladies were very very nice. Yup, we left them a tip.
We did not use the AC. We slept with the window cracked open, as it was nice n cool outside.
Restaurants are very close by, like 4 minutes away.

Rundown, adequate at best. Sheets almost felt like they were dirty. Mattresses were soft and mushy.
I would not go back.

It was very clean and pleasant. I would stay there again. Yes it is a little run down and need some TLC.

Staff was amazing super helpful very friendly! They literally loved their jobs. Pool is very large kids loved it we also loved that it was open until 10pm. Breakfast was great as well.
It was helpful to have 3 beds for a family with 3 kids not old enough to sleep in a separate room.

The ceiling tiles is almost falling apart from being wet wth the rain . The bath tub has stains all over ! The fridge is covered with dust from the ceiling pieces . Breakfast is ok . The room needs a lot of improving .
William
Lots of noise from dog and guests. Beds were fine. Breakfast was free but sparse.
Barbara
Smelled musty. Beds sank in the middle. Mold on bathroom ceiling. Bathroom light worked sporadically. Door to get in the room was so hard to open that we thought we had the wrong room. Phone in room didn't work. No breakfast, manager did have bagels with cream cheese in the office. Internet wouldn't connect.
$30 charge for our 12# chihuahua.
Do not recommend.

WARNING - Fraud / Theft Scam Ripoff
At 11:33 PM on Sunday, Jun 14, I booked a room on the hotels.com app at the Travelodge by Wyndham Mackinaw and received a confirmation email. I then went to the hotel and arrived within 5 minutes, to find that I could not check in because the reception was closed and no one was there.
The hotels.com app let me book the room despite there being no way to ever check in.
The app did not notify me that there was no way for the booking to succeed.
I was denied a refund. The decision on whether to give me a refund was left up to the hotel, though this is surely an app malfunction. The hotel has no incentive to do the right thing and the hotels.com claims it is not their problem.

Great staff!
Carlos
Muffins bagels frozen hot cakes no real orange juice high c coffee 15 inch tv cold refrigerator water wouldn’t be hot if you used any cold but for the price it was alright no boiled eggs no self make waffles
Chad
Easy, cheap place to stay while traveling through the area. Accommodations were adequate. There was a barking dog next room over that was very disappointing.
Loredana
The room was clean but everything is old the staff has was very nice and kind air conditioning did not work.
Daphne
Our room was absolutely filthy. There was literal dirt on the floor, dust all over everything. It smelled stale like it’s been sitting for months. There was MOLD all over the bathroom. Every neighbor was loud, rude, and inconsiderate. The only good thing was the air conditioner worked great. However, the lady we dealt with the day of check in- absolutely wonderful. 12/10 rating for her and her only.
Lisa
Clean room, simple and worked for what we needed. Price was great for area.
Jonathan
Pleasant personnel. No problems. Basic accommodations, but that was our wish.
Doris
I just wish the front sign at night didnt show old name. Very difficult to know which one.
Don
Clean room and reasonably priced
Lawrence
The price was right.
Jennifer
Everything was great best hotel for we’ve had since coming to the city
Michelle
The rooms were clean although it smelled of smoke and the tin was slow going down.
Keith
Ceiling tiles were falling out and water was dripping and had a weird smell and a lot of moisture in the room.
Edward Patton
everything is good. Room is clean, big.Bed is comfortable.Bath is good. Only room smell is not good.
Dorothy
Our awesome mini vacation
The location of Travelodge by Wyndham was perfect! Close to the casino, shopping, restaurants and of course, the main attraction: Big Mac Bridge and the Lighthouse!
jerry
staff was great. bed sheets were old and stained. $55 so go with it.
John
Outdated and dirty
Teresa
This is a good place to stay.
Like most hotels that is affordable it can use some work on the outside.

It was ok
Michael
The stay was what we expected, even though it was quit noisy as the evening came and it should have been quiet time. The breakfast staff was GREAT she was so polite and friendly. Would recommend it if needing a place to stay
Anne
Our second night was also great!
We stayed two nights, a Saturday and a Thursday, and both nights were great. We so appreciated the breakfast!
Anne
Great place to stay!
We enjoyed our stay. All staff members were friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The breakfast was perfect to start our day. Plenty of coffee!
Donna
Nice stay
Sam
Place needed upgraded. Rooms needed upgraded and mattress was worn out.
Robert
Solid choice for an inexpensive stop over.
Good reasonably priced option for Labor Day. Room was clean, comfortable. Only issue was very low water pressure in the shower, but it was usable, although almost felt like water was trickling out. Quick check in/out. Good budget option for one night.
Julia
Out dated, poor water pressure. I wouldn't stay there again.
Tanya
Easy check in. Clean room. Reasonable walk to town.
Cynthia
Was a great value, but facility itself is old with some issues mechanically
Mei
The continental breakfast is a joke. The worst breakfast ever. Staff is not helpful.

Purchase of ferry tickets
When we checked in, the woman at the reception told us that the ferry tickets to Mackinac Island included priority boarding, so we purchased them. However, it turned out that priority boarding was not actually included.
Mindy
Older property, but clean and affordable.
Miranda
Outdated rooms, confusing booking. Thought i had booked double queen beds as it stated on the booking and pictures. Only got 1 queen bed. Room smelled musty amd carpet was stained and bunched up.
Chadi
Terrible decision
This was our worst stay in a hotel ever. The hotel is not in good condition and needs renovation ASAP. Breakfast was bad and they use coffee that makes us sick.
Dennis
Room Smelled Moldy
Sugar & Creamer In Room Was Hard As Rock
Lampshades Were Melted Inside Of Bedside Lamps.
Chairs Around Table Were Stained
Pillows Flat As Pancakes
Electrical Plugs Loose, Wouldn't Hold Electrical Devices In Plug...

The shower did not work. The exhaust did not work. No microwave. And they double cgarged me.
It was very inexpensive so thats that.

Great connection to the ferry to Mackinaw Island.....$1 off the tickets, free shuttle, and could leave our car parked here. Thank you!
Rebecca
There are definitely pros and cons...
Pros:
- Was the \"cheapest\" around on a Friday night (we paid $110)
- You can buy Mackinac ferry tickets at the front office for $1 cheaper than online. Plus the Sheplers shuttle will come and pick you up from the hotel and drop you back off there after which was awesome. Travelodge will let you keep your car there for the day while you're on the island even if you stay the night before.
- Free breakfast, although there weren't too many options.
- Bed wasn't too uncomfortable, but very small pillows
- Front desk staff was nice
Cons:
- Hairdryer and TV didn't work
- There was a spider and mosquito in my room
- Musty smell especially in the bathroom, felt moist in the room, gross ceiling tiles that are molding, the shower wall moved when I leaned on it (weird and gross)
- Floors are super dirty and must not get cleaned. My socks got black on the bottom after walking around just a little... so maybe pack an extra pair of clean socks in the morning and wear shoes around.
- Room in general just felt very run outdated, but it was a budget place so I guess you get what you pay for

It is a dated motel ... some aspects are showing the age. Staff were delightful. And the breakfast option was very unique.
Michael
Our room had tiles that were raised as if a possible water leak had happened. The room had a very distinct odor to it as soon as you opened the door. Bathroom was very small a very very low shower head, that was not good for my 6'2 husband. Breakfast was nice and warm.
Rok
They move us to a different room because of faucets leak, the other room was hot, no air on, tub faucet leaking in there too, WI-FI slow, pool closed! We should get reimbursed for one of tge room at least!
Thanks
Thanks
Monica
Clean
Very clean. Served its purpose.
Andy
They said they just bought the hotel so give it a month and we'll see what happens. The breakfast was just okay the first day it was a couple hours late or so. Second day it was right on time but the cleaning stuff lady I asked her a question about some pillows because the front desk said they had none and this lady had four pillows extra for me within 10 minutes. That was worth a $5 tip. For coffee and something else and I thanked her because I needed them pillows to help me sleep.. the hotel was quiet except for some of the cars that were staying there beautiful cars absolutely incredible the people were nice there they had a few complaints. But overall it needs work but they just bought it remember that so give it some time.
Magdalena
Staff was very helpful and pleasant. The hotel itself was old and not kept up. Our room had chewed up trim and walls from a dog presumably left in the room. The shower wall was caving in as if there was no wall behind it. There was also a bad odor in the room. Location was OK. We were able to walk to Shepplers marina ( one mile ) and leave our car at the hotel.
Paula
I canceled this trip thru Expedia and thru you. I paid for the cancelation trip but still haven't received my refund. Could you look into this for me. I would greatly appreciate it.

Staff was very hospital, especially the staff in the breakfast area. The rooms need updating, ceiling tiles stained or falling down. Bathtub won’t shut off. Tub stained. Bathroom floor tile pitied.
Dawn
The rave reviews on this hotel are not what it is
The pool was not available until the night before we left, and it was so cold you couldn't enjoy it, they have a mouse problem and the mice had eaten holes in creamers in the breakfast area, bought a swiffer mop and mopped the floors because our feet and socks were dirty from walking on them, whatever they use as an air freshener was overwhelming and gave you a headache for abou 24 hrs, it was reasonable for prici g but i am not sure how they have rave reviews, if you are looking for a cheap place to stay that isn't great but gets the job done this is it, not some place you want to spend much time in
JOHN
Very clean, kind staff, very PLEASED !!
Verified traveler
Room was very clean but a little dated. Everything worked. All the outlets are taken up by motel stuff. Had to unplug coffee maker to charge phones. The room was comfortable.
PAM
There was no breakfast. We waited until 7pm amd left as it was not open. No staff to check out, called and they were sleeping. Left key in room. Mold in bathroom. Shower wall falling off.
Richard
Room was ok on the cleanliness. Railing upper level are not to code, Way too low. Breakfast was ok Price was cheap. If you want a yuck cheap stay it's ok
Cindy
One of the rooms the TV didn’t work. Staff came but could not fix it. Another room had no shampoo. Liked the room size and the table and chairs. Very pleasant.
Lindsay
There was mold growing on the ceiling and walls and there was a dead bug on the side table.

update
room needs serious updating. bathroom faucet doesn’t shut off all the way, tile sheet by the shower head is bulging and the calking is coming away, fan blows hot air, mold behind toilet. light shades are old and dirty as are the fixtures and furniture. window curtains coming off the track, owner needs to take pride in this establishment. I doubt room 102 is the only one that needs updating. Paula, Dan’s wife
Elizabeth
It was perfect
Jessica
I would never stay here again.. to start off the room was definitely not kept very clean. There was cobwebs everywhere. The smell was less the pleasant. An it looked like they were fummagating a mattress for bed bugs right in the parking lot. To top off the stay when we came back from a day on the town our door was wide open an 2 men were doing maintenance on the ceiling in the bathroom. Said they had a work order. Why would you ever put us in a room if you plan on doing work on said room. Was definitely upset seeing how all our personal items were in there. Save your self the problems an DONT stay here!
Jeffrey
Main office smelled like manure. Low water pressure in shower. Breakfast was very low quality.
Elizabeth
Very very dated. The key cards didn’t work. Had to go to the office multiple times to get new ones
Thomas
Liked shuttle service to and from boat dock.
Bathroom was tiny and in serious need of repair Drains in shower and sink were clogged and slow. Hair dryer was not working. Lightbulbs needed replacing. Difficulty communicating with cleaning staff. Room in general needed a good cleaning.

We stayed at this property two years ago before it was taken over by Wyndam and it was excellent, clean and a good price. Since then it has become dirty, lack of repair. We will not stay here again. The chain should be embarrassed to have their name on it.
Richard
Property outdated. Neighbor had a dog, which barked part of the night. Overpriced.
Kimberly
Quiet area, safe and walkable to downtown. Always great staying there.
Kate
The room took several hours to actually be ready after check-in time. We had to get ready for a wedding, so was a major inconvenience to be told our room would not be ready without being cleaned/door opened for several hours. Would absolutely not stay again.
Roney
The bathrooms were very dirty.
Tim
Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Late checkout was helpful. Property was dated and the breakfast was a bit lame, but good enough for one night stay in Mackinaw city.
Kristina
We were assigned a room when we first arrived. It was in such poor condition. It barely had any water pressure, the air conditioning didn't work, had damp rid under the beds (in a pet friendly room), the power outlets were outdated. We complained and a nice young man at the desk changed our room after the air conditioner didn't work. It was a better room, but for being a Wyndham Hotel very surprised at the condition of the whole unit

You get what you pay for. It’s a poor condition motel. The wall by the shower was moving. The table in our room was falling apart .
So it was a ok motel just for sleeping and to clean up. They are serving free breakfast everymorning but not the healthiest . Staff was friendly !

A nice surprise based on the price!
I was very pleased with the hotel. Based on the price I didn’t think it would be as nice as it was. It was clean and comfortable without any bad smells! I would definitely stay there again.
Joshua
Good not great
Room smelled like weed. Everything else was fine. Get what you pay for.
Ellen
The ceiling tiles over the tub was ready to fall out. Air Conditioner didn't work (didn't cool). We went to another motel and tried to get a refund and was told that it was booked by a third party so only refunded one night. Open staircase, not desirable to us. Worse than that the host of the motel lied to us about a room on the first floor telling us there was none available. Then when we returned, there were several available after booking at another motel. I would not recommend this one to anyone.
Kathryn
There was a dog barking for a few hours when we first checked in. The bathroom door in our room would not shut and there was a missing lightbulb.
Kenneth
Great clean, quiet place. Room was huge and staff was on top of things. Definately stay there again
Gary
no microwave
Jenna
The continental breakfast wasn’t much of a breakfast they had microwaveable pancakes, cereal, bagels, and mini biscuits with canned gravy
We also had chewed gum, candy and other garbage behind the bedside tables when we checked in
The pool was amazing and the room wasn’t terrible but trying to find parking was horrible because of how booked the hotel was nightly

Parking lot very small, not what I expected for the price
Gayle
Beds very uncomfortable. Shower curtain did not stay in place. Dark ceiling tiles from past leak.coffee pot did not work. Poor air conditioner. Will not stay there again.
Phillip
This place was amazing! The only little issue I had was with the toilets flushing a little slowly, but it wasn't too much of a problem and when it did stop up, staff was quick to help out. The room was clean, staff was helpful, and the pool and breakfast was pretty good. Overall, I'd say this place was great and I hope I'm able to come back again someday.
Kevin
When we checked in were told the water pressure to the bathroom sink was low. I asked if the shower was good and hes said it was good. WRONG! It was as bad as the sink and it took 5 minutes to get any hot water. The A/C didn't work and the beds were terrible. Most of the wall outlets were wore out and wouldn't hold our charger blocks. We talked to the front desk before we checked out and he said the manager would call us sometime today. It's 10:45 pm and haven't heard from them. Avoid this place.
Margaret
Good place to stay on a budget
For a place to stay on a budget it was good. The room was clean ,though needs some updating. The beds were worn out 1 you could feel the springs. Continental breakfast was pretty good. The pool was clean but chilly.
Fred
Stay at Mackinaw City - Travelodhe
First room was small and curtain to outside did not close all the way so he gave us a different room which had some cobwebs and floor not real clean and black stuff on the floor in toilet area! Bed was comfortable! Staff not real friendly! Never got a receipt. Hope they didn’t screw me on price! Not sure about future stays at Travelodge.
Don
All was great EXCEPT, there was no butter found at breakfast for my toasted bagel. I also noticed that cabinets that normally hold muffins and donuts were empty. Something else was missing but I can't put my finger on it. Yes, you provided breakfast but I think you cheated. Still happy with our stay though.
Roxanna
The front desk staff went over and above to accommodate, for many people. We arrived in the rain on motorcycles and she did everything she could to be helpful with room locations, early check in, and great walkable option for a super meal. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Kudos 👏
Mary Edna
Room is clean, staff are pleasant, furniture acceptable but not all of the lights are working so it is on the dark side.
David
Property is vey tired and needs a facelift. Very strange setup with a separate building for breakfast. We opted to get breakfast elsewhere.
Akil
TV did not work.. intercom does not work. wifi is crappy
Jessica
Hot tube
The room was comfortable. Only thing was when we turned on the jets in the hot tub and clump of black hair came out into the water( not good)
Beata
It was very dirty and smelly.( from the cigarettes). The windows very dirty and sticky. Also we had a bad breakfast
Nimit
Good experience
Melaney
Everything was bad about this place.
Andy
Staff & the price were great. It was a safe, cheap place for an overnighter with my teenage daughter on our way to the UP. I would stay here again, but if you want luxury or a hotel you're going to spend a lot of time at, you may want to look elsewhere.
