The building looked fantastic from the outside. BUT our room was Damp the carpet, the bed and the sofa sleeper. The bathroom was in very poor repair. The toilet paper holder fell out of the wall ( the tp was even damp) The toilet seat was stained yellow and chipping apart. There was a domestic dispute out our door on the beach. I went down spoke with the 2 workers and the manager. They looked outside and did nothing. In total this went on for over an hour. Cussing throwing things at each other. Something that should have been stopped. The \"waterpark\" was very dirty and run down. You were to have a wrist band and be staying there to use the park. I watch several people from other hotels just walk in to use the park. We had a terrible experience with a older man that was not staying at the hotel. He was making very inappropriate comments about my daughter's bodies. He did not know I was their mother and left right after I spoke with him. Needless to say there was no level of security. The only reason we stayed was we were traveling with our dogs. There were no options to move to that expected dogs. We will never be staying here again and would not recommend anyone else to stay here either.

Overall hotel was very nice. We arrived at noon and they went ahead and checked us in early at no extra cost. Hotel could use a little updating in a few areas. Our shower had a couple damaged spots of drywall and they were taped over. Waterpark was nice minus the mostly empty pool in the middle with old, dirty water sitting in it. Lakeside beach was very relaxing and amazing views.

The water park was bad. Water slides torn down the pool had no signs to tell you how deep it was and the kiddy play area was freezing. And the humidity in the rooms was terrible the carpet felt wet. It’s gone down hill since we stayed here 6 years ago. Will not be coming back

Around the outside of the building was messy with old grills and garbage cans filled with trash, our air conditioner barely worked and we had to shove towels under our door to keep the cool air in to be comfortable. Most of the plugs were loose and our chargers wouldn’t stay in. The toilet also tipped when you sat on it. Staff were very friendly and we were able to bring our dogs which was a nice thing. It is one of the cheaper places to stay but I’d just spend a little more next time to stay somewhere else. Overall I give just ok!

The hotel is a bit outdated and worn down. The beds weren’t bad, but they weren’t especially comfortable either. The waterfront view was definitely the highlight! It was the perfect spot for watching the fireworks and enjoying the scenery.

I didn’t get a chance to check out the water park. From what I could see, the slide was missing, but luckily the beachfront made up for it and gave us a great place to relax. I also appreciated that the hotel is pet-friendly.

Parking was a bit of a mess, as there weren’t clearly marked parking lines, making it confusing to know where to park. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay.

Hotel was good overall. The only downside was that there was no microwave in the room; instead, there was a shared microwave downstairs in the common area for all guests. I wish there had been a microwave in the room. Other than that, the beach view from the balcony was amazing, and the indoor pool was excellent for kids to enjoy and have fun.

We liked having the option of the water park and the beach! That being said, we nicknamed the water park, “haunted” because it was very run down. The studs were present for two waterslides that had clearly been removed.
The water park also doesn’t open until 12pm so that is very lame.

This hotel was rather expensive was supposed to have a view to the beach with a balcony which you did. The railing was rickety, almost falling off full of spiders cobwebs it had not been cleaned in quite a while. The outside of the building is covered with mold the room smell like mold would not stay again and would not recommend.

The rooms need dehumidifiers. The musty smell and moist carpeted floors were disgusting. They advertise a waterpark, but it is very unsafe. There are no lifejackets there so make sure you bring one. between the lazy river and the kids splash pad there is an unkept pool where the waterslides used to be. It still contains some green, murky water but It’s not even half full. It should be covered or filled in. Only safety is a rope telling one not to enter. The price you would think you’d have a microwave. Only 1 out of 3 rooms I reserved did.

Well, I won't recommend room 104 it needs maintenance ASAP. The carpet smells of mildew we asked to swap rooms but the workers are from other areas as this is a seasonal gig. I think they tried their Best, but I feel the shape of our room might just be the standard. The bathroom wasn't really clean to any standard you would expect for a hotel that is charging what we were charged. The tub feels like you could be the one that your foot will fall through(very soft in some places) like they tried to fix it, plot twist it's not \"fixed\". The water is constantly dripping out of the tub faucet. The panel on the kitchenette is holding on for dear life. I wish I would have researched better. The \"waterpark\" is a total joke. And you shouldn't bank on a fully functional waterpark. To be honest... I feel how are the owners not embarrassed by this hotel? How is their \"waterpark\" passing any type of inspection? Is the inspector family? It's wild to say the least. The Beach area is the nicest thing it as going for it. The total resort gives off slum lord vibes. I feel bad for the workers who have to deal with complaints that the owner should deal with personally. The pool area blows my mind how it's fit for people to enter. There is a half tore down waterslide platform and the pool that goes with it had stagnant dirty water. And wasn't secure from people accessing it, seems like an accident waiting to happen. This whole place seems like it needs a legit inspection.

I’m guessing this hotel was once nice——years ago. It’s outdated and needs a deep cleaning from carpets to chairs in common area with stains

The rooms are outdated and dark although our mattress and pillows were firm. Once you close the window coverings, it became extremely dark in the room with the lights on. The only lights were bedside tables that needed brighter bulbs. Nothing was dusted in the room including a mirror that sat on floor against the wall (it had been there a while as you could see how they vacuumed around it. We set the air conditioner to 66° and the room still did not cool down. Not sure what they wash their towels with, but the towels had a strange smell.

There was a heavy air freshener smell especially in stairwells as if masking smells. The hallways were also dark. The carpets had stains and hadn’t been vacuumed the time we were there (same crumbs, dirt, and sand during our 2 night stay).

We did not utilize the pool/waterpark or the game room. We walked to the pool area and the hall outside of the pool area smelled like urine. We checked out the game room and the bowling area was out of order and some of the arcade machines said out of order. We did not use the pool table because you had to pay to play. (We have stayed at other hotels and never had to pay to use the pool table. )

Staff was cordial. When we checked in, they said they upgraded our room.

I wish I had read the reviews before booking this hotel.
The problems started as soon as we opened the door. There was a strong, unpleasant odor throughout the property, and it became even worse when we reached our room. We found bugs on the ceiling, stains on the bedding, and what appeared to be evidence that the sheets had not been properly cleaned. To make matters worse, the sliding balcony door would not lock, which was a significant safety concern.
The bathroom was also in poor condition. The wallpaper around the shower surround was peeling, and there was visible mold behind it.
One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was the advertised water park, but that was extremely disappointing as well. The only usable attractions were a lazy river and a pool for guests over 44 inches tall. The water slides had been removed, and the pool they previously emptied into still contained stagnant water that looked more like a swamp than a swimming pool. The entire water park area appeared poorly maintained and inadequately cleaned.
Overall, the hotel was dirty, poorly maintained, and did not meet expectations. I would not stay here again and would recommend that others read the reviews carefully before booking.

The advertised waterpark was a joke. The two large slides on the website were no longer there but rather cut down and the pool they flowed into empty and not safely blocked off. The children’s play area was covered in algae and the play structure was broken in many spots. The entire walking area was green with algae as well. It was quite disgusting. Several windows in this area were broken and covered with. The rooms were fairly gross and not kept up, but beds were clean, thankfully. The best part was a beautiful beach and amazing view.

Pros: The desk staff was friendly and helpful. Check in was quick and easy. Our room while a bit dated was clean and nice. There was no microwave in the room but there was a fridge. We had a lake front balcony room on the first floor. It was a beautiful view however to no fault of the hotels it was May and the Mayflies were so bad you could not dare to open the slider so we had to enjoy the view through it. So if you are going in May don't pay for the upgrade.

Cons: We were with a school group so the \"water park\" was the draw. However it was not what I would consider a water park and it was not taken care of or clean. There was a lazy river that the kids went in that was alright although the paint was chipping. There at one time must have been a slide but it was gone and just the ladder structure was left behind which was covered in chipped paint. The pool that the slide would have emptied into was partially empty in the middle of the room but still had maybe a foot of standing dark green slug water in it that STUNK!! In fact the whole pool are smelled so bad like fish I refused to let my kids go in there the second day. The hot tub was not overly hot and the paint from inside was chipping so there was floating paint chips in it. I made everyone that went into the pool area take showers immediately following their time in there.

I feel bad because the staff was so nice but I would only go back if I just needed a place to sleep quick. The amenities are lacking.

My family was looking forward to this stay because it was a waterpark and the hotel looked beautiful online, very false advertising because when we arrived it was absolutely disgusting! Hot tub was cold and full of slim; the lazy river was circling a pool that was completely green and scummy; the big slides advertised were not even assembled no slides to even go down for my older kids this was very disappointing after a long day of travel. Then the little kids play area was so full of slim going up the steps and it had scum on all parts of the slides; one pool was ok, but not worth the cost of $173 what a joke....

Reserved a 2 bedroom (3 queen beds) with family room online, for family of 5. Hotel advertized an indoor water park which was advertized online and on the hotel sign. We got this for our daughters 12th birthday. Got there, and water park wasn't opening for another 3 days, on may 11th. We were in the off season which i get, but no where on the hotel sign nor on their online page did it state the water park wasn't open. Daughter was disappointed snd hotel wouldnt refund. Then, our room was a basic style room, with 3 beds in it. They said this was their \"family\" room. If so, they need to stop advertizing the room pictures they had for the room then, which showed 2 bedrooms and a living area. Hotel room was dirty and falling apart, with wall paper peeling. Toilet was very loose on floor and whobbled. Also was clogged. I had to ask for a plunger in order for us to use it. 😷 Also, no breakfast served here, which is a major downfall. It did have a really nice view of the lake and mackinaw bridge. Right on the waterfront endge. That was the only redeaming factor.

Overall I enjoyed my stay and the location was just sooo good. Definitely returning!!

The staff was nice but it was the dirtiest hotel room I have ever stayed at!
First of all the hotel and the area around were full of spiders, apparently, it is spider season in October but it would be good not to have spiders inside the hotel room,the screen on the balcony door was so old and full of holes that it had no purpose in keeping out spiders and other insects
Second, I don't think anyone had ever dusted the room, except for the main area like the table, TV stand, and bathroom counter everything else was dirty and full of dust
The shower curtain was moldy and so old
The AC was so old and loud
AND I FOUND AN EYELASH EXTENSION ON THE BADFRAME
Don’t think I’ll be staying in there again, which is a shame cause the view from the room was beautiful and the location was great

They made extra effort to stay with our dogs they gave us a ground floor close to the dog run area. Front desk was very helpful and informative. I did not get her name but the checkin lady was happy friendly and knowledgeable she was great!!!!! Thank you

The room was nice comfortable and very affordable. However the room did not have a microwave or refrigerator. When we came back on Monday and we selected a different room with a microwave and refrigerator. Apparently you should specify that you want a room with a microwave and refrigerator. Also there's no breakfast. But for the cost, none of that stuff mattered.
