This property needs alot of updating. Its a very old building it has a musty smell and the bathroom was extremely small. Our floor was slanted and had to sleep with our head at the foot of the bed. It was clean and the hot water was great.

New Owners, Positive Changes
I often stay at this hotel because it is close to the bridge and a park I enjoy. There are new owners, and they have already made positive changes. The bed was more comfortable than prior visits. The bedding had definitely been upgraded. It was soft and new compared to the old, dated, gross stuff there before. The area was quiet, despite being right across from the highway. The room itself was very clean. Probably could use some updating, but did not detract from the room. Desk staff and managers were very friendly and super helpful. Looking forward to my next stay.

This hotel has just been taken over by new management a month ago. I can easily see that the last people left it in very poor conditions. Good luck to the new owners, they have a long road ahead. As far as where this place is located; couldn’t be any better! Fast trip to shopping, excellent dinning next door and very close to the ferry’s.

Odd odor, not much of amenities. Beds seemed clean and were comfortable. Not a bad place just to hang your hat overnight. The biggest irritation was that people parked in front of our door which affected ease of loading and unloading. Perhaps designate the parking spots with room numbers.

The location of the hotel was good. The room we got was dirty. Black stains on carpet and was never vacuumed. Dirty towels on the bathroom floor. Ceiling tiles pulled up with water spots, like the carpenters didn't complete the job.Asked for clean towels, the cleaning help don't clean until we leave. They never cleaned when the previous people left. Had to go get clean towels when we saw the cleaning people outside. No soap. No kleenex. The only good thing was the mattress was nice but the room smelled old and musty. I guess you get what you pay for.

HVAC unit was ineffective. I did not expect elegance from a budget motel, but this did not meet minimum expectations. I would not recommend.

I have stayed at this hotel before and I have enjoyed doing so. It appears as though there is someone new managing the hotel this year. They are friendly, helpful, and do a nice job. The room I was in was a little small, which I wouldn't mind, but it felt a little crowded. The room was clean and the area was quiet. It is close to the bridge and downtown.

The ceiling tiles in the bathroom were full of mold which I'm didn't see the night I checked in. I'm still dealing with the after affects of that. The shower tiles also had mold in them. It was quite shocking when I opened the shower curtain in the morning. I complained at check out and they didn't even apologize or say they would correct it

The property shows lots of deferred maintenance. The room needs deeper cleaning. There were cobwebs, the tub was in bad shape & the bathroom ceiling fan needs a good vacuuming (see picture). Curtains were riddled with bare spots. I expected more. It was a bed. I don't recommend.

We were there for 3 days, I thought they might have come in one day and got the garbage, checked towels and stuff but never did. There was a dumpster outside our room we dumped our own garbage out each day when we got back from are adventures.

Wallpaper was coming off the walls, knats flying around, lamp shade was disgustingly stained right beside the bed, all around felt dirty and gross! Manager on site wouldn't return our money because we booked through a third party, and haven't had any luck with a return from hotels.com. BEWARE, STAY AWAY!

At check in, they tried to downsize our room to a queen, despite us booking a king. That gave us a weird vibe since the hotel was clearly not overbooked. Even though room was out dated, it was clean. A scary incident took place, the bathroom door locked and took quite a few minutes to get it open. “breakfast” was very lack and not breakfast.

We stayed one night -overall it was great location a little noisy being right by highway. Older hotel, but comfortable, clean and friendly. Price was great for what we needed for the night, might stay elsewhere for longer stay.

For the most part our 3 night stay was ok but we had trouble getting in our room door every time we left and came back. It was just an actual door with a key but the handle and locks were difficult to turn. Plus our 2nd night there the cable went out and the staff didn't not even realize it and didn't have a way to fix it but by the next day it fixed itself.

Went to office 3 times, no one was at the front desk all 3 times. I went there during the morning and late afterons. One of my visits to the front desk, when someone finally come to the front dest it was a young kid. He could NOT answer questions because I don't think he know englist that well. I will NOT stay at the Knights Inn ever again and will recommend to others NOT to stay also.

No Frills But Worth the Money
I like staying here because of the location. It is across frim the expressway, so there is traffic noise, but the proximity to downtown and the park/Mackinac Bridge is worth it. The hotel itself is fairly quiet. The rooms aren't amazing up to date, but theyre clean and comfortable. Staff is usually helpful and friendly. Room was spacious. Great for a solo trip.
