My room was perfect! Two queen beds, table and 2 chairs, whirlpool tub in the bathroom. It was within walking distance of the dock. Had a nice size pool. Only down side was that the breakfast room was across the parking lot in a different building and it was raining, and it was very hot in there, but the breakfast was decent. Will stay there again though for sure!

If I could give this hotel zero stars, I would. This hotel does not care about you or your children’s safety. All they care about is taking your money.

I booked a stay with this hotel four days prior to arrival so I did not purchase the travel insurance, thinking I wouldn’t need it. Unfortunately our stay ended up being the peak point of the smoke coming down from Canada. Closing the majority of things to do in Michigan.

I called Expedia asking for a refund since I was traveling with my 8 year off son. The hotel denied my request for a refund. So I called the hotel directly simply asking if I could change my dates since Michigan was under a poor air quality advisory. This hotel was extremely rude and refused to work with me even in the slightest.

I even asked the manager if she would travel to Mackinaw with an 8 year old, she just sat there in silence. To me the silence was confirmation that she knew what she was doing was wrong.

I’ve honestly never been more disappointed in a company and I feel like I was taken advantage of since I paid upfront. I will never booked with this company again.

We requested an accessible room. The bathroom was large, the countertop was elevated to accommodate wheel chair and there was a riser on the toilet. There was a tub which was not accessible. There are, I believe, 3 buildings. The pool was in the middle building and continental breakfast on second floor of building 3. If you have mobility issues, find other accomodations.

This motel is so outdated, dirty and kinda gross. The only positive it had was the location. The lock on our door seemed super weak and unsafe (I wouldn’t stay there as a single female traveler, beware) and the outlets didn’t work. The bed was super uncomfortable and smelled like beef jerky. I don’t want to know why. A lot of things inside the room didn’t seem to work. Lights flickered a lot. Carpet was sticky. Our room had an overpowering mold smell.

This was a cheaper route and so we were nervous ended up enjoying it better than the hotel we spent more at! We thought the beach was great (there was trash but think that’s not the hotels fault per say just the people on the beach)—we had a slight change of plans so I called a day prior and they couldn’t cancel my reservation so we made it work..we left a stuffed animal in the room, they called me which was nice..was hopeful they would mail it to me as we had already left town and they didn’t suggest that so that was a bummer wish to have gotten my daughters horsey back. Nice of them to call though but curious why they couldn’t ship it to me? Regardless was a nice stay and enjoyable stay

We arrived early in the morning and made a pre-check to ensure our check in spot. By 6:00 pm We finally came back to get to the final check to our room.
By the time We got into the room We immediately noticed that the outside walls were so full of dead insects and walks isle floors were so nasty, but We thought at the same time that probably this is because is close to a shore... but the worst part was when We got into the room, all bathroom was really bad: garbage as female products in the floor, bathtub with a molded sheets and hair all over the floor...

I spoke with the lobby host and offered me to exchange a room, but the room wasn't big enough as I rented a 2 rooms with 3 beds...

I really wanted to leave but the host kindly asked to please wait to send a person to clean the room, it took almost 1 hour to have a person to clean and then took 1 extra hour .... by the time We start showering it was almost 9:00 pm...

We understand and appreciate the efforts but all these should have done before our arrival no during our stay...

We would like to have a refund... I made a complained to the hotel but experia was my point of contact... if you need pictures let me know...

This hotel was fine for an overnight stay and the location is convenient, however a little bit underwhelming for it's premier location. The staff seemed uninterested. The pool and hot tub worked, but the whole place gave me the vibe that the ownership just isn't trying very hard to make it a nice place. The included breakfast left me feeling like we should have went to Denny's instead - but there isn't one! If you need a place to stay for a night before heading to the U.P. or are staying longer and aren't expecting great things, it will suffice.

We booked our stay at this hotel and found it to be in a great location for shopping and eating. The real issue is the facilities are outdated and the place needs to be renovated. Our toilet was not mounted properly, the wall paper was poorly maintained and the overall decor of the room was extremely dated. The beach access was nice, but there needs to be better maintenance of the area and lounge chairs on the beach. We will not be staying here again in the future, unless they put some money into this place.

Check in on 6/15 for 3 nights. Went to the room , dropped off luggage, and toured downtown. Came back and checked the room. Disgusting, moldy bathroom ceiling and tiles, toilet cracked. Only 1 working light bulb in the bathroom ceiling, I went and got one from the front desk. No apology. Sink had no stopper. Coffee machine and fridge not working, plugged in the refer. First there was no coffee or cups left, got some from the housekeeper. After checking the coffee pot was moldy inside. Carpet wore out and damp, no air turned on in room before arrival. Balcony door and frame moldy, no screen door. Great view of lake. Pool and hot tub in a different building, both dirty and the smell of chlorine was bad. Breakfast was in a different building as well, tried to eat there at 7am on the 16th but worker called in, open late. Poor choices. We left on the morning of the 17th even though we paid for it. Upon check out clerk never inquired or seem interested in our departure. I ran hotels for 12 years, Best Western Choice, and Super 8 franchises. This place should be fines or shut. I feel I should get 1 night stay refunded.

We stayed at this motel so we could visit Mackinac Island. We loved the island and would love to come back, but we will not be staying again at this motel! It really needs a thorough cleaning. Definitely needs to be updated. The arms of the wooden chair would easily come out. The tray holding the coffee maker wasn’t clean. There was no alarm clock. Very basic, even though the pictures look nice. Musty smell in our room. No A/C in the breakfast room area and they had windows open. Looked like the ceiling had leaked in the past, it was stained. My husband wanted to just get a different motel, but I was afraid we wouldn’t get all our refund. We stuck it out and enjoyed our vacation in spite of it. A cheap place to stay!

The bathroom fan was loud, the A/C had a mildew odor from it (I understand being by water that it may hold humidity), the rug in the gym needs to be replaced, the washer/dryers were all out of order, and the breakfast was poor...with coffee creamers being bad. The price was good and located conveniently to the town. This place has potential and with some TLC it would be great. Overall, the place served the purpose, but would have liked to have better breakfast choices and a nicer gym. Also, the main building does not have an elevator, so if you cannot climb steps, you need to ask for a main floor or a place in the building with the breakfast room, as it has an elevator.

Overpriced for the quality

Was in a “handicap accessible” room, that was NOT accessible. Would not be able to get a wheelchair from the door past the bed to the other side of the room or into the bathroom. Both sets of peep holes on the door were painted over rendering them useless to see anyone knocking on the door. The bathroom was spacious and had a jetted tub, so that was nice. The breakfast was NOT very complimentary. Breakfast hours were 7am-9am. Had to go to a separate building on the second floor to find the food that was offered: pancakes, ham slices, yogurt and bread slices. The toasting oven did not work properly so bread never got toasted. Coffee was hot but not good. Parking lot was small. The hotel did offer a discount on ferry tickets. The “Arnold ferry” terminal was a short 4 minute walk from the hotel, so that was nice.
