This worked well for us. Was in walking distance to the ferries to Mackinac Island as well as to the shuttles and the many shops and restaurants . Spent a leisure day visiting and getting acquainted with the city and then a day on the island enjoying the people and places there -- even had lunch at the Grand Hotel. Bed, linens, & towels were superb. Pool and Hot tub were great. Grab and go breakfast was OK. Hotel had discounts/coupons for the ferries and restaurants which helped keep costs down. Exterior walkways and sitting areas need a lot of care and attention. However, the hotel was very busy! We would stay there again.

The staff was very accommodating to us. The property was great for the price. Very clean rooms. Location is great, especially if you want to walk to the shopping district. My only complaint was the “complimentary breakfast”. It was granola bars, hot cocoa, and coffee. I was also disappointed in the lack of microwave in the room. I do plan on staying there again though. The beach was great. Very well maintained and clean. Chairs and fire pits were provided.

Property owner lists room as capable of sleeping five guests but when you walk in there are only two queen beds. One would assume if a room says that it sleeps 5 people there would in fact be something for the fifth person to sleep on. When arriving at the room and seeing only the two queen bed texted the front desk and let them know that there wasn't a pull out of a roll away and they said we could rent a rollaway bed for $50, after paying for the room already which has a zero cancellation policy so we would have lost all of our money, classic bait and switch. I contacted corporate and made a complaint but they didn't seem to be able to get anything done for me even though they said they were going to.

This place was disgusting. Mold, mildew, moss growing everywhere. Old, worn out carpeting covering decayed wood on the walkways. Went to get \"complimentary\" breakfast, found doors locked one day and gross coffee and crumpled granola bars the second day. Ended up going next door to Best Western to get drinkable coffee. Requested 2 rooms near each other and got room separated by 3 buildings, each on the furthest end from one another. Major problems with plugging in phone charger and computer. We will never go to a Super 8 or Wyndham hotel again. Tried to save a few bucks and ended up in a disgusting situation. Fortunately, Mackinac City offered pleanty of options to keep us away from the room.

Dirty and run down. Very disappointed. NOT worth that amount. Moss all over, spiderwebs everywhere, sand in all corners. Then they charged me for a roll away! A horrible, rusted disgusting rollaway. Their parking lot is a mess. The \"coffee\" in the front desk is actually for next door, another hotel. Disputing the rollaway charge because it's offensive.

The property was very dirty looking. Very worn-down and old looking. As I was climbing the stairs to get to my room I was already wondering whether I'd made a real mistake in booking the place. (I hadn't read any reviews until AFTER I had made my un refundable booking.) I felt so uncomfortable that when I entered the room I decided to check for any bed bugs. I found none on the mattress. So far, so good. Then I carefully checked into the creases of one of the chairs and freaked out when I saw a bug dive under the bottom cushion in the blink of an eye. Shaken, I called the front desk person, who asked me to come down. She asked me to show her this bug and followed me to the room with her camera. There was nothing to see as the cushion could not be lifted up far enough to see under it and it was attached and could not be removed. I was offered another room, but I declined. Although I had no \"proof\", I know what I saw. I would not have walked away from an almost a $1,000 non-refundable deposit (The booking was over 4th of July weekend.) otherwise! Luckily, my son was staying in the hotel next door and offered to let me share his room.

I recently stayed in this hotel, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. While the view from the room was stunning, the overall experience left much to be desired.
Upon entering the room, I was immediately disappointed by the cleanliness. The room was very dirty, with visible dust on the furniture, the floor was extremely dirty, and the bathroom had clearly not been thoroughly cleaned. The toilet was in poor condition, with some parts broken, and there were several other maintenance issues, such as broken locks on the door and sliding glass door that didn’t seem secure.
To add to the frustration, a few light bulbs were missing, which made the room feel dim and uninviting. It's the little things that make a difference, and the lack of attention to these details really stood out.
On a positive note, the view from the room was fantastic. It provided a beautiful panorama of the of the lake, which was a definite highlight and almost made up for the room’s shortcomings. However, considering the price I paid, I expected a much cleaner and more functional space.
Overall, while the view is worth mentioning, I can’t overlook the state of the room. I would not recommend staying here unless the hotel addresses the cleanliness and maintenance issues.

Mediocre hotel

The room was mediocre at best. It was not really clean. It was dusted down, clean bed sheets, and clean towels. The floor in room and bathroom weren't that clean. I could still feel a grittiness on the floor possibly from sand, which is understandable because it is beachfront. The hot tub in the room worked so so. The jets weren't very powerful but it was a big tub at the least. The balcony was filled with spider webs and spiders, it looked as if they never dust the webs off. Overall we only went there to sleep and spend time on the balcony watching the lake and the nightfall. It is a good location if you pick the beachfront room, the large price is due to the view and hot tub. I'm not sure that was worth it but live and learn.

Dirty, rude, Discriminated against service dog.

When we first arrived at this hotel, I attempted to check-in and the woman at the check-in desk was arguing rudely with a current guest who was asking for some money back as he described their room being horrendously dirty. The hotel refused stating their card had already been charged. However, I didn't want to base my opinion off of that interaction, but I should have used it as a warning. The rooms were atrocious. Broken lamps, dirty bathrooms, cobwebs and spiders in the corners, and the carpets were so dirty I didn't let my kids take their shoes off. I didn't even want to bathe them in the tub (which had a shower head that didn't work, water wouldn't even come out). Then to top it all off, I brought my service dog (I am a disabled veteran) and was asked to provide proof via paperwork and asked what my diagnosis was that required a service animal, both of which are illegal. Then I was forced to sign a piece of paper declaring my animal or they threatened to kick us out. According to reviews, the terrible service, rude staff and disgusting rooms were all a common occurrence. We will not be staying here again and this business will be reported to the state and attorney general for their behavior surrounding my service dog who is EXTREMELY well behaved and friendly. Don't stay here. It's not worth the time or $370/night they charge.
