Everything was good; it’s just the extreme amount of mosquitoes in and around our rooms were a turn off. Had severe rashes on my toddlers body and face and our arms, the property needs to do something about the mosquitoes infestation.

We stayed here over the Fourth of July weekend while visiting St. Ignace and Mackinac Island. Considering the holiday, the price was reasonable.

The staff was the highlight of our stay. They were friendly, helpful, and waited for us when we arrived around 2 a.m. Communication through the Expedia app was excellent since the room phone wasn't connected. Housekeeping made the bed daily, and clean towels were provided whenever requested.

The room had a few cleanliness issues. The curtain had fallen off its hooks when we arrived, so I rehung it myself. We noticed dust on the headboard, inside the dresser drawers, and on the lampshades. The bathroom could have been cleaned more thoroughly, and we found a few ants and spiders behind the bathroom door and under the sink. The bed sheets also felt very thin compared to what you'd expect at most hotels.

The A/C worked great, the shower had excellent water pressure, parking was convenient, and the hotel was fairly quiet.

Breakfast was disappointing. It included toast, bagels, fruit, cereal, sausage patties, pancakes, waffles, coffee, juice, milk, and water, but no eggs or other hot options. The dining area also had dead flies on the window sill and dust in the corners.

Overall, the staff made a great impression, but better cleanliness and an improved breakfast would make this a much better stay.

The Cedar Hill Lodge was great for our party of 5 people for a one night stay. We were wanting a place to stay after crossing the Mackinac Bridge. This was a lovely newly renovated resort with lots of amenities. We stayed in room 252 which was in the Spruce building. We had the room with multiple beds and a balcony. The room was large, comfortable, clean, and worked perfect for us! The bathroom was clean and in good condition. The sink is outside of the bathroom which was very convenient for us having a large group. The kids enjoyed the pool which was open until 11 pm which made it available a long time to have fun! The location of the property was the best part! Close to Straits State park, Clyde’s’ Drive and many other shops and overall great location! We will definitely stay again when traveling through the area.

Beds were hard, no working lights in the stairwells (no elevators) and very limited breakfast options. Your 2nd floor balcony is a shared balcony with the whole floor but the only access is through your room.
Room looked clean, easy access from the bridge and the fire pit was a nice perk when arriving later in the evening. A/C worked well too.

It is an older motel in need of upgrades. There was water damage in the bathroom that needed attention, and the pocket doors between the rooms did not work. For a quick stay before and after Mackinac Island, it was fine.

I drove into town with an “injured” car window and no one in town open to help, but upon checking in, the owner of Cedar Hill Lodge eased my mind and had a plan to at least prevent the coming rain from getting in overnight. The care and concern for not interrupting my trip due to unforeseen circumstances was beyond helpful and gave me the confidence that I could continue on to Mackinac Island for the day with no worries- he was quick to help me figure out where to go the next morning for service and how to navigate getting from there to the ferry and back to the lodge when we returned. Also, you can tell that the whole place is in the middle of a complete renovation but still keeping the character of the motor lodge of years gone past. The carpets and furniture were new and the beds comfortable. Plenty of parking and a shuttle to the ferry and back. Also, despite being there at the beginning of the biggest weekend of the year (local car show), it was quiet at night. Would stay here again.

We were not informed that the property was under renovation. When we arrived, we checked in, are room was not attached to the hotel. We had a large trash dumpster overflowing right next to the room that they expected us to stay in. We went back to the front desk and questioned why. Woman was not very friendly. I said the hell with it asked to check out. She said she couldn't even print a receipt that we were leaving. I just ate the money I guess. We stayed at a real motel, the Quality Inn down the road. Much cleaner. You should probably inform your customers of the situation. Not happy, I'm out basically $100.00 Plus, I had to pay $120.00 for a clean room. Thank you for asking. Please tell other people, so they don't have the same awful experience. The next person may not have the money for another motel. Luckily, I saved for 6 months for my trip. Thanks again, have a nice day!

The room was newly remodeled. Fairly clean. The refrigerator was very small fyi
The TV must be the smallest I've ever seen for such a huge wall. I would say it's 23inches although I didn't measure it. It does prove difficult to see the picture very well and if you need to close caption you'll never see it from the beds. The bathroom wall next to the toilet look like it had some dried nasal discharge. Exactly! It's kind of enough to turn you off of the typical mediocre Hotel breakfast of mini muffins waffles yogurt milk, machine coffee that tastes like instant. You may want to get McDonald's coffee. There was no half and half only artificial coffee mate. They did have whole milk in the fridge. There's orange juice a toaster a microwave oven. They stop breakfast at 09:30! Seriously I do not know why some hotels do not serve until at least 10:00 a.m. if not 10:30. That I did not care for we nearly missed it but I was able to squeak in a waffle before the Clerk took everything away. Also the hot tub temperature was fine the water was murky and when you turn on the Jets it barely bubbled. Caution, the pool water was cool, fine for this summer. However to me it smelled like sweat. Yuck. It looks as though they are continuing some renovations and I hope it continues down to the pool and they replace the carpet and give the pool a good scrub and maybe a new painted lining or whatever they do with the concrete. Also the hot tub need some TLC.

My room smelled like airplane glue, i had a headache for 2 days afterwards.

The balcony and sliding patio door had no screen, so i could not open and air out the room. Whoever was recently working in the room seemed to have it open as there were many mosquitos in the room.
Breakfast was over run , nowhere to sit, on replenishment, i scooped up some food, the replenished egg and sausage were cold - i went to mcdonalds.

the room is a good size, they are in the middle of renovations, the bathroom was nice, the tv is laughable at 32\", for a newly renovated room that is kinda funny.

the beds were comfy and i slept well with the in room fan/ac unit on to try and lesson the overpower glue smell to some extent,

i can't see how someone can rent a room out in this condition in good conscience.

You get what you pay for and I probably wouldn’t stay here again. Wall unit in the room was super loud. Housekeeping didn’t notice someone’s boxer briefs balled up behind the slider door curtain. The hot tub was tiny and jets weren’t working. It was just meh. They’re remodeling the rooms nicely but it’s still a motel.

There is no place to hang clothing (closet with hangers). A mirror over the desk would be good if one is brushing their teeth or shaving to have an area to put on makeup and comb your hair. Eating area needs to be reconfigured. Can’t get coffee if others are getting their cereal, it was congested.
Rooms are nicely remodeled and beds were comfortable. Shower was awesome.

I reserved two rooms in the Spruce building for our family of four.
I got a notice a week later that they needed to move us to the lodge due to a large group booking. I asked if the room quality was the same and was told the lodge and spruce were all renovated. I said ok.
A few days later I got a notice that they needed to put my kids in the lodge and move my husband and I to the Pines building due to a Expedia booking error. I called and spoke to Mr Patel, the manager and he said the reason was because of their construction not being done. (Why the lies about large group and Expedia issues within a week of the construction story?)
I agreed to split us between two buildings even though that’s not what I booked.
We arrived at the property and I went up to see where my teens would be sleeping before heading to our building. It was a war zone.
Refrigerators and doors off hinges obstructing the hallway stair landing. Multiple rooms full of drywall and construction materials between the staircase and our room. Exit sign and ceiling molding falling from ceiling in hall, no baseboards on in hall, so ragged unfinished drywall exposed, painters tape everywhere. No room numbers on the “completed” rooms so guessed by scanning each door. Ripped off screens from the window in the room.
Fumes from construction materials everywhere.
I declined the rooms and asked to get a call from the manager and for a refund. No response in 24 hours. Hotel hung up on me 2x today when I called

The rooms were very clean and spacious. Bed very comfortable. The hot tub felt like we were getting drowning in chemical fumes… the whole pool area honestly just felt stuffy. Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast! About 15 minute walk to St.Ignace downtown which was great! All around, we are very pleased with our time.
