Location is good, but that's it.
Truly the worst hotel experience I've had. We were given room 123, which should never be sold... Smell was awful, upholstery was ripped, no windows (ot looked like it had originally been a room for staff to rest), beds were in two separate rooms with ceiling fans that had lights. Fans spun, but the lights in both rooms would not come on. That was enough to demand (nicely) a different room. There was no argument, as I'm sure they knew all about that room.
The second room was a lot better, but still had a musty smell. The bathroom door was hard to close, and to wash your hands, you had to open the door, and go around the corner to the sink. Who designs a bathroom like that?
Incredibly, a charge for $2.41 was added to my card - for a room upgrade? Who knows.
Stay was one night, one week ago.

The location is about the only positive thing I can say about this motel.

Problems started at check-in. I booked two nights through Expedia, but the front desk employee said the computer showed I had already checked in. He knew I hadn't, but instead of handling it quietly, he complained to another employee about someone not checking IDs and having to figure out who was in my assigned room before eventually finding us another one.

We arrived around 5:00 PM (check-in is 4:00 PM), yet the second-floor hallway was still cluttered with multiple housekeeping carts and at least a dozen bags of trash, making it difficult to get our luggage to the room.

Around 10:00 AM the first morning of our stay, despite not checking out until the following day, someone pounded on our door to see if the room was empty. Given the confusion at check-in, I suspect the two issues may have been related.

The room itself was in poor condition. The shower handle was broken, the shower only had hot water with no temperature adjustment, and the room had just one bar of soap for both the sink and shower. A piece of corner molding had fallen off the wall and was simply leaning against it. The carpet felt so damp and grimy that I kept my sandals or socks on for the rest of our stay.

The location is convenient, but poor maintenance, housekeeping, and overall management made this a place I won't stay at again.

NEVER STAY HERE.
Our hotel room started off missing a shower curtain, the previous persons garbage still present, and their shower stuff still in the show; and the front desk staff was unable to help find a shower curtain. So we had to head out for the day without getting to shower. Then we noticed several bug bites on all of our legs. While packing up, we noticed that the room didnt even have a smoke detector in it. The manager refused to speak with me and said they would fix it. No regard for the fact that they had seriously endangered the life of my family. Just excuses about not knowing. You would think that checking basic safety would be part of the checks between guests. But I guess Super 8 is okay with violating safety and occupancy laws. NEVER STAY HERE.

The room was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. However, the room had a noticeable moldy smell, the TV remote batteries were dead so I couldn't turn on the TV, and the Wi-Fi signal inside the room was too weak to connect reliably. It was okay for a short stay, but these issues affected the overall experience, so it wasn't a great stay

This hotel needs a complete renovation. The outside is a shambles, the pool area is gross and the room we had was smelly and moldy. I couldn’t wait to leave, and neither my husband or I got any rest so we packed up at 5 am. The shower and bathroom were grungy and the carpets in the hallways were thread bare and filthy. Dogs were everywhere, so who knows who or what peed on the carpets. Gross!!

We loved our stay at Super 8 Bridge in Mackinaw City. Our room was well-appointed. We had a closed in balcony with two comfortable stuffed chairs, so we could view the Mackinaw Bridge in the night without bugs bothering us in excellent seating. The chairs were also put to use during the night when we moved to sleep in them and watch the sun rise. This was room 305, which is just over the main entrance. Other rooms had open balconies. Our three night stay included one night we watched a thunderstorm roll through the UP/St Ignace area, one night with lots of dense fog hanging on the Straits of Mackinaw, so our view was of the Bridge fading into nothingness, and one night that was overcast, however the Bridge was still visible.
Our room's bathroom had no scratches on the side moldings and the tub was spotless. The toilet flushed completely each time we used it. The fan was noisier and could use some maintenance, but it was only on when we were in the bathroom so it did not disturb sleep or leisure time in the room. The beds had woodsy headboards and a side table and chairs matched it with a woodsy look, as did the end table between the bed and a dresser. It was a leisurely walk to Fort Michilimackinac on the mainland and to the public beach by the Bridge. Food was within a couple blocks and it is easy and safe to walk to the main tourist areas or ferries to Mackinaw Island from this hotel, if you are a walker. Definitely will stay here again next time!

Got there at 2:00pm was told they didn't have a room ready for me. They told me that check in started at 4pm. Came back at 3:45 parking lot was almost full. Meaning people checked in way before me. Got to the front desk told them I had a support dog. They told me that I should of let them know earlier and they had to find a room for me because only certain rooms are allowed dogs. I told the to cancell it and give me back my money then. They told me that I should of let them know on the third party app . The app said pet friendly and the room I picked said pet friendly..there was nothing that asked if I had a dog. If they didn't make it where I was the only person that had to wait till 4pm this would of never happened. Woke up at 6 am and told them if I was going to get treated like this I would of went some other motel. I stay at macinaw all the time never had this problem. I won't go back there again. Room was nice. Staff was nice, although I was told on the phone ahead of time that the pet fee was $25, it's actually $50. Not a huge big deal (apparently it was changed a year ago), but when I paid it with my debit card, they charged me twice. The second charge eventually was refunded after 3 days, but for a few days my account was down $75 from what I had budgeted (extra $25 for pet fee from what I was told on the phone & $50 erroneous double charge), so if you're on a tight budget, luckily I wasn't, it could really hamper your plans until they refund their mistake.

After looking through tons of hotels we were a little nervous with all the reviews, I would say dont trust the terrible reviews here our stay was just fine!!

The good!

Amazing location! We could walk to the bridge and that was a huge positive for us! The room was clean, the shower was hot!, the pool and hot tub were clean and the kids enjoyed it! Some staying at the same time said staff weren't very welcoming/friendly but staff were friendly and helpful to us!!

The not so great

No microwave in the room, as reviews state no breakfast, there was some mold in the calk in the bathroom but other then that everything was clean!, the pool was also peeling (the painted "liner") and made the kids a little itchy but is wasn't anything a shower didnt fix after swimming. Beds are a little firm for my liking but kids slept great!

Over all we would stay here again

When we arrived, we were told we had to pay an extra "environmental fee" (about $6.86 for 2 nights) to pay for some fee the city adds. (there was NO indication of this when I made the reservation).
The beds were comfortable and the sheets were clean. But it said, in the paperwork we were given at check-in,that housekeeping wouldn't come in the room until we left, but they still did. Parking wasn’t very good. The TV channel selection was not good either. Entrance nearest elevator was uneven and hard to pull the cart in. THE WiFi wasn’t good. (My devices immediately came up with a warning not to use their WiFi and it was pretty weak to boot).

Did not like this property at all. We chose this property based on the website & being pet friendly. When checking in, the woman informed me it would be $50 for the pet fee. I told her that we have travelled a lot with our 2 small dogs and have never paid that much. In fact, had only paid a $15 fee the night before at a different property. She then proceeded to give me the total bill and said it was $50 per dog. I about dropped my teeth! I was about to tell her we would not be staying, when her coworker stepped in and corrected her - it was $50 for both dogs. I told him I thought that was still high. He told me the owner had raised the price because he had just put in new carpet. When they told me where our room was, I asked about an elevator since we had luggage & was told there was not one in our building. Thank goodness it was only 2 floors! When we got to our room, we were disappointed to see how small & dingy it was! I would suggest to the owner they should not only replace the carpet, but clean up the mildew in the shower, invest in nicer sinks, update the furniture, fix the plugs, put in better lighting, etc. All in all, would definitely not recommend this place!!!
