Great central location to downtown. Although they didn’t have a great sitting area to enjoy your coffee in the morning, we would definitely come back here again just because of the convenience and the fact that they don’t charge $700 a night.

Super charming hotel! The room was straight out of the era in which the hotel was built yet with a modern bathroom. Hotel is conveniently located in the middle of it all. Ample bicycle parking near by. Hot tub was a nice distraction on a day we weren't sure what to do. Also the porch chairs were a perfect spot to people watch. Be sure to grab your breakfast donut in the morning on your way out to enjoy the island- it's very good! (The photo is the view from our room)

Nice older hotel. No microwave or fridge in room. No bike parking, needed to move bikes in the evening down a block next to Doud’s market. Didn’t hear other guests’ noise in the evenings as we have in other Mackinac hotels. Sauna/pool area was a very nice amenity. The little balcony was a good enough space in the mornings for coffee and got no direct sunlight, which was fine for us.

We absolutely loved our room as we had a water view. The weather was so nice that we slept with the windows open and surprisingly the night life was not loud even though we were in the Main Street to shopping and bars/grills. We loved hearing the horses clomp through the streets, very peaceful. The room was nice, only drawback was queen size bed as we are used to a king and no fridge.
The Murray hotel is centrally located which was really nice! The fudge store in the lobby had the best fudge of all the fudge shops!! Their breakfast burrito was a hit for my husband.
We needed time to shop after checkout so their luggage room was perfect to store our items until we had to catch the ferry.
We will definitely stay here again if we can ever get back!

We loved the character of the hotel along with the extensive artwork. We aren’t big on Mexican food for breakfast so we didn’t partake. Hot tub looks nice, but a little too cold once you get out in May. Wasn’t thrilled with the extensive #!of children, but they were quiet after 9pm.

We enjoyed our room very much; however, there were some areas that could be improved. The vanity area was small and in a corner making it difficult to see yourself in the mirrors. The large hot tub is located on the second floor. Not a rooftop in that it is surrounded by hotel rooms. No view of main street from the hot tub. It is not a pool, most children would be very disappointed if they were told they were going to a hotel with a pool.
The shower units are very slippery. I actually fell and fractured a rib the last day of our vacation. They need some bath mats or non-slip strips in the tub/shower units. The best thing about this hotel is the location.

The Murray Hotel is an old hotel. The hotel staff was EXCELLENT but the hotel itself needs some updates and some deep cleaning. We had a Spiderweb over our bed that had been there for sometime. The Fudge was awesome!

Had a last minute friend’s birthday on the island and thought I was going to wind up paying an arm and a leg. Found Murray and thought it might be dodgy at the price, but really like the location, the room, the pool and hot tub area, and the staff were all lovely. I’ll definitely stay again the next time I’m up.

I stayed in the single travelers room and it was perfect size for me/ I had a great view of the water and street activity. If you don’t want to hear the hustle and bustle of the street I suggest a room in the back. I had a nice corner room in the front. The bathroom had a lot of counter space and a window which I loved. Only suggestions would be bigger side tables and a plastic laundry bag. Also it would be nice to have access to the balcony but I get why they don’t allow it. 10000% would stay here again

From the first view of the room, it appeared as if I had gone back in time to a Victorian period home. The room was smaller than most hotels but arranged so that there was plenty of room. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The location was right in the center of most of the businesses and activities. This was my second stay at the Murray.
The downsides were few and not necessarily enough to be disheartening. The television only received the low channels, while some other guests said their reception was better. The most noticeable negative was that the odor from the Mexican restaurant on the premise permeated the hotel, even up on the 4th floor. Perhaps better ventilation would be the answer?

This is an excellent property. Thank you to Donovan for carrying our luggage from the dock to the hotel. It's very close to the dock only a couple blocks. The location is right downtown amongst all the shops and restaurants, you really couldn't ask for a better location. The hot tub and area around are great and super clean. They have free donuts in the morning and coffee, tea, hot choc. They do not have fridge or micro in the room, but you are allowed to use the micro down at the restaurant which worked out just fine. You can walk to The Grand and the Arch from this location. The hotel staff was all very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, I look forward to staying again.

The staff is phenomenal. Unfortunately, my friend sprained her ankle and we had to go to the med center. Everything turned out alright and that is mostly due to the staff helping us with getting ice packs, extra pillows/towels, and just helping us with the little things (doors, bags, cabs…) So we could continue to enjoy ourselves

The Murray is perfect in almost every way. It’s centrally located in town steps away from shopping, restaurants and the fort! We didn’t eat in the restaurant but it smelled good. We loved the 24 hour, complimentary coffee, tea and hot cocoa. My daughter especially loved the hot cocoa. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. The blanket was cozy. We relaxed on the sun deck and it was lovely. The pool/hot tub was very relaxing after a long day of horseback riding. My daughter and I loved the rocky road fudge, especially. Finally, the price is the most economical I could find especially for the value of the accommodation. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you for hosting us.
