I rented a \"pet-friendly room\" so the odor of urine was no great surprise. And the rate was reasonable. By the time I rented there were no regular rooms left. I think the \"Straits Lodge\" must have been dorm rooms when it was built. The rooms were more compact than a normal hotel room, and slightly smaller than a cruise ship cabin. There was a nice bathroom, a room with 2 queen beds, and almost no other space. A cruise ship cabin would have a small couch and a small desk. This room had one comfortable upholstered chair, there was no room for anything else. The air conditioner was adequate, but was a \"dryer hose\" type instead of built into the wall - just surprising - it worked fine. Downstairs there was a coffee counter where a light breakfast and a coffee could be bought. In the week I was there I saw multiple groups of folks who were obviously heading for the ferry, who gave up on ordering so as to make it to the ferry on time. In the room there was coffee and a coffee machine.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mission Point! The staff was amazing and helpful. We always had a great meal and wait staff. My kids enjoyed the story time with cookies and juice, arcade and pool. All were great amenities. The property is beautiful with great views and things to do. Well maintained as well. Ice cream was a hit as well.

Beautiful resort! The staff was friendly and helpful. We love the large lawn by the water and the mini golf. The restaurant was overpriced - $43 for 2 coffees and fruit for 2 people! However, everything is overpriced on Mackinac Island, so we weren't shocked. We upgraded to have a room in the main lodge with a water view, which was not worth the upgrade price; we still had a long, uphill walk to our room and we could barely see any water. Overall, it's a beautiful and fantastic resort, but I don't think worth the money.

Mission Point Resort is a beautiful property, only a 15 minute walk from town. It is immaculately maintained and the lawns and gardens are full of lovely flowers, constantly in bloom. We stayed during the lilac festival, when the lilac trees were in their full glory, so it was very special! The staff could not have been kinder, and bikes were plentiful and easy to rent at the resort. The view of the grounds and the lake is magnificent!

The one thing that I would say to keep in mind that you have to pay for a shuttle to town and back or to go off the property, which is a very long walk if you don't take the shuttle. This was slightly inconvenient as the fare each way does add up.

Great resort, I’m sure even better when temps are warmer and pool options are open. Morning breakfast in the restaurant was excellent. The floors seem rather thin as the second night we had a family with kids above us, wow do they make a lot of noise. The 5am crying, stomping and screaming was a bit of a jolt, we just aren’t used to that. Otherwise, decent stay, nice resort, great staff and help.

Mission Point is located in the east end of the city. It is located in a great location as one can easily walk to Main Street yet be assured of a good night’s rest. Rooms are clean but tight. I had a king room with room attached with double beds. Each room has TV, sinks in them but shower & toilet room extremely tight. My daughter and I are slim built and I think those who are larger would find it difficult to maneuvered in. Rooms have fridge, coffee maker and microwave for added convenience.

The room was clean when we arrived. The staff were helpful. We stayed at the Straits Lodge building but we stayed on the other side of the one elevator it had they need a 2nd elevator. The walls were thin so you could hear noises pretty easily. The food at the restaurant was very good for both dinner and breakfast. The view from the front of the hotel was pretty amazing. We also liked hearing the history of the hotel from Pat. We walked to the hotel and it is pretty walkable and quieter since it is away from downtown. Lastly it is very pet friendly and that was a plus for us.

We hung out and played games in the piano room when it was raining and got excellent massages at the spa. Dinner at Chianti was amazing. Everything on Mackinac Island is old so take the property conditions with a grain of salt. Many restaurant options on property. Pool could use a make over but still gets it done. Convenient location. I would stay here over any spot along the main road due to the amenities provided and still only a 12-15 minute walk from town.

The water view wasn't that great, the bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan, the heater made a really loud noise, found 3 bugs in the room, tv was very small and was mounted crooked on the wall...etc.

Our family had a great stay at Mission Point. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and well kept. We stayed in the straights lodge. Nothing fancy about the rooms but sufficient for our stay. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the Round Island Kitchen. Food was great. I liked the location of the resort. It was a good walk from downtown and away from all the commotion.

Overall the resort and the amenities are nice. When we entered the main lobby we were optimistic this would be a good stay.The Straight lodge however is dated and the walls/floors/ceilings are paper thin. We were kept up all night by a crying baby and woken up early by someone’s barking dog. The view of the lake is great, not from The Straight lodge but from the front section of the resort. My kids enjoyed the arcade. Rooms were fairly spacious. Bike rental at the resort was convenient. Food was great at the restaurant. The window AC had a constant drip sound all night from the AC unit from the floor above. The daytime at this resort is nice, nighttime, not a great stay.

We were in the Straits Lodge. Would've preferred to be in the main lodge as it was raining and we had to walk outside to get the taxi. Overall, the room was adequate. It's old and needs renovating, especially the bathroom. Coffee maker worked well and it was nice to have a mini-refrigerator. Round Island restaurant was good for breakfast. Not a lot of atmosphere for dinner. We went elsewhere.

Wonderful place. Beautiful grounds. Do the 6:15am free Sunrise hike. It’s 45 minutes round trip including the time seeing the sunrise. The rooms are a little dated but the building was a mission for clergy. I didn’t try the food inside but looked like pizza, burgers and mac n cheese for kids.

Loved the chairs out on the lawn overlooking the water...very relaxing. Didn't like the fact that our luggage when leaving was tagged and sent to Sheplers, when we had told them we were using Arnolds...inconvenient.

The grounds are beautiful and the staff is so friendly. The mechanics are a bit old, which is good to keep in mind when placed in a room near the elevator. It’s not horrible but definitely noticeable. Additional small touches to the room would make a huge difference. There are few places in the bathroom to hang your things and no furniture to unpack into. There is also a lot of empty wall space in the room where shelves or wall hooks would be super helpful.

Pool was freezing in July. Fun little putt-putt on property. They gave each kid a card for the arcade with some credit on it. Bike rentals are a small fortune (more than I've ever paid to rent a car considering it's about $100/day PER PERSON).

Positives include the proximity to the lake shore, walkability to town (though there are many other closer hotels), beautiful gardens, and close hikes like arch rock. I also love that there were physical room keys. The parts that I didn’t like- The building is very old and has not been updated. The rooms were not very clean- lots of bits of dirt on the bathroom floor and tub. We had a baby stroller with us and despite the receptionists saying they put us in a convenient room, it was on the second floor in another building and just about as far as you could possibly have to walk from the lobby. Overall impression: for the steep price that we paid, I was expecting nicer accommodations.

Overall great property.
We had many many glitches along the way including needing to change one of our rooms. Very annoying…. But the staff was amazing and really helpful the whole way through. The grounds are magical in the summer. Downtown is a quick 10min walk or $10pp horse ride down. Spa was relaxing!

The location is great. The hotel could use some work. The cleanliness and up keep were lacking. We also couldn’t use the hot tub because there wasn’t enough water. For the cost it wasn’t ideal.

This property was fine. Very nice location a bit away from the business of Main Street but very walkable. Lovely grounds overlooking the lake although we were in the Strait Lodge away from the water and overlooking a parking lot. Beds were clean and comfortable. The rooms are very old which is part of the charm, but the tile in the bathroom was in rough shape and overall felt a bit dated.

The hotel itself was okay at best, the room itself wasn't cleaned very well and the water pressure in the shower was very weak, the beds were okay and pillows were okay, but good luck getting into the restaurant

The property is beautiful and well maintained. I enjoyed the morning offerings such as walking tours and yoga. There are no water refill stations anywhere which is a shame. I bring a water bottle with me to avoid plastics, but there was no water available to fill it. I would have also appreciated a coffee/tea station in the mornings. Most resorts offer coffee and water so this was slightly disappointing. To add insult to this, I paid $8 for a latte which took a while to make (very slow)! The fitness area/gym is outdated with old equipment. Other than these inconveniences, the property and its location are lovely. The staff are welcoming and friendly.
