Eric
Door to the room scratched so hard on the threshold that it was creating a groove into threshold. Bottom of door was held together by drywall screws. Also, there was a wash cloth draped over the shower curtain rod from a previous guest. Other than that, it was decent.
Michael
I liked that I had an option for ocean view with balcony. HOWEVER, they should let you know that you may get a ground floor with a balcony 🙄 so you know with people on the beach, there's no privacy. You have to keep drapes drawn so they can't see in your room. Also, the front desk lady was borderline rude. After she was done with her spew (so I thought), I asked where breakfast was located, and she was snippy and let me know she will \" get to that in a minute\", I personally wouldn't stay there again. The location and condition were fine, but there are many more to chose from on the beach.
Amy
The rooms were nice and clean, and the view from the balcony overlooking the lake was great. Plenty of parking.
The only negative was the pool and whirlpool. Pool was too chilly and didn't seem to be that clean, and whirlpool was not working....although water in it.

Nice location
nancy
The room was below par. The breakfast was in another hotel next door so not convenient. Wouldn't go back there.
Denise
This was a fun location on a beach in Mackinaw City. We had a balcony room with a beautiful view. An added surprise was fireworks over the Lake - and it wasn't even the Fourth of July. It's walkable to everything in town.
Joline
The property looks very clean on the outside in pictures but the exterior walls have not been cleaned in a very long time. The lobby to check in was very clean. The room was very clean as well. Very well stocked with towels, washcloths, and hand towels. It was very aggravating to get the luggage to the room with the cart as you have to go to the other end of the building for the elevator and go through 2 hallways and doors and maneuver thru very narrow hallways. There was no lock on the balcony door.
Bruce
Heart stay, I will return
Ketan
The front desk staff was unfriendly and not professinal
Piper
It suited our needs
Lilla
The place has a great price value ratio, the staff at the reception could be friendlier but the not-too-welcoming communication style was similar across Mackinaw City so it might not be the hotel’s fault. The place has excellent location, right at the port to Mackinac Island, free parking and buffet breakfast. Overall, I recommend it.
melissa
When checking in I saw mice and the rooms were not clean. Did not stay.
Niravkumar
Bugs every where, pile of bugs in bathroom, bed and outside. Staff doesn’t want to clean them up or change the room. We checked out 1 day prior to original booking because we can’t even sleep.
Paige
Outdated and in need of a thorough cleaning. Increased signage at elevator.
Miranda
Little ran down (old) but kept up pretty well.

Phillip
The room itself wasn’t gross but it wasn’t great either, it was extremely dusty and the carpet had a lot of stains. The walls are paper thin and we could hear every word the people next door were saying. The worst part was that we paid extra for a lakefront balcony room but couldn’t spend any time out there or keep our sliding glass door open because other guests were out on their balconies chain smoking and it would fill our balcony/room with smoke.
Koni
Clean, comfortable, good amenities
Matthew
Property was a very good value. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, but not great. For the price. This property is awesome. Just dont expect too much. The price matches the quality.
Theodore
Great location right on the beach. Walking distance to Sheplers.
enrique
The room was what I would expect from a 2 star hotel and that is not my problem. The staff were not friendly even down right nasty and uninformative. Almost mad that you asked a question, this based on my responses and what I witness with other guests. The breakfast is in another hotel and she did inform me of that. I walked all around the hotel ending with the lobby, no breakfast. I go and ask her about it and her response did you go to the 3rd floor. No I wasn't told that. We just left and ate somewhere else. Not worth the aggravation. Plenty of other places to stay.
Ray
Great all the way around and close to everything
Barbara
Convenient, beautiful view, nice breakfast
Susan
The front desk staff was exceptional. We came in late and he was cordial and friendly. Bery clean rooms, great view. Will definately be back.
Diana
The bed was the most comfortable of any hitel we havw stayed out. However, our room had a weird smell that we could not place, there was no wash clothes in our room and it was attached to another hotel that you had to go to for breakfast or to return your key card. Our bathroom door also did not unlock so if you shut it when no one was in there it took some time to get it back up. The fan in the bathroom was loud.

The young man that cleaned our room was very nice and our room was excellent.

Tired property, room did not have lake view and was very dark. Breakfast is on the 3rd floor of a nearby hotel. Needs a refresh.
cherry
The room we got looks like it hasn’t been occupied in a long time and never been cleaned again since. Corners are dirty, carpet is dusty and has a musty smell.
Christopher
Older motel that isn’t cared for. No house keeping! When I asked about the room not being cleaned, was told “we don’t do that anymore more.” Breakfast was bad in every way. Skip it .Nothing good to say.

Tim
Beach front was awesome.
Robert
We had a good night's rest and the staff were pleasant. The curtains were too long and covered up the AC unit. There was a floor tile missing in the bathroom.
Lyz
Property on the water was great to see the fireworks show for the 4th of July.
Breakfast was in another building up the stairs, and it had poor air conditioning. Apart from that all was good.

very nice

The water temperature in the shower rotated between freezing cold and scalding hot. It could not be regulated.
The sink faucet was very hard to turn off.
The room definitely needs updated, if not, then a good cleaning.

Michelle
The staff was helpful and polite. The foom was clean and cozy!
Laura
The instant I walked into the room I was disappointed. I was overwhelmed by a musty smell. It was obvious that the cleaning that had been done is bare minimum. It was very grimy. The pool was very hazy as well. There was continental breakfast but we had to go next door to another hotel to get it.
Hesham
Definitely not the lap of luxury. And room and bathroom were clean as far as I could tell. Just needed a place to rest my head and it fit the bill. Still too expensive for the amenities offered.
Elena
Property needs maintenance. Carpets in room and hallways needed cleaning.
Jillian
Great spot
Great value. Great spot, easy and walking distance from town. Decent beds and pillows. Staff was friendly, efficient, and virtually unseen.
Derek
Nice hotel in Mackinaw City
Outstanding location with comfortable beds, ok breakfast, and ok service.

For the most part staff was excellent. Room was decent. Coffee maker in our room was faulty. Had to hold cord just right or it didn't work. Coffee was tasteless like tea. The rest of our stay was fine other than
ignorant guests. Left a day early because I couldn't enjoy my balcony (that you pay extra for) because of the ignorance of other guests. Throwing rocks at birds and our balcony (ground floor). My 84 year old mother was uncomfortable. I do understand it's not the motels fault but no matter what we said the father wouldn't stop them, he actually encouraged the 2 teenage girls. Shouldn't always rate the staff, something needs to be done about ignorant guests!!

Everything was perfect. Come check out to when we left. I would say it’s easily one of the better hotels I’ve stayed in at this price point. The property is right on par.
Melissa
I wasn’t sure what to expect after reading some of the reviews but our stay here was pretty good. I booked this hotel because of the location, we liked that we could walk pretty much anywhere we needed to go. I liked having a balcony and being on the water. The room was pretty clean but could probably use new carpet or a deep cleaning. The toilet seat was cracked but we were out and about for most of our stay so it didn’t bother us.
Nicole
Nice stay in Mackinac. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants and the ferry to the island.
Laura
We stayed for 3 nights at this property with a large group and reserved two separate rooms. Our stay was “fine” the rooms were generally clean, albeit dated as mentioned in other reviews.
This property, is in pretty rough shape. We had torrential rain while we were there and the gutters were all overflowing signaling a drainage problem. This was later confirmed when water came into one of the rooms that we were staying in. The front desk staff quickly dispatched the handyman to fix the ceiling and tried to get us to keep the same room which we refused. Clearly the water problem would not be fixed with a patch on the ceiling, and we did not want to risk getting hurt when the “fix” got wet again.
The front desk staff was not apologetic for the situation, in fact they were upset that we asked to switch rooms and had a pretty bad attitude about the whole situation.
Overall, if you’re looking for a conveniently located place to lay your head, this place may suffice, but I personally won’t be staying here again.

Amazing work
I really enjoyed the view it was amazing, I also liked how it was quiet and very clean.
Ann
This property and rooms need maintenance. In our room the tv did not work well, a lightbulb was out over the bathroom vanity, the peephole in the door was stuffed with paper, there was no microwave, and so on. The lake area needed cleaning, raking, removal of some large rocks. The rooms were noisy - kids running in the halls, plumbing from neighboring rooms and voices were easily heard. And guests in another room were feeding the gulls, which was noisy and dirty.
Yvette
The room was nice with a lovely little balcony that overlooked the lake. Reasonably priced with lots of dining and shopping options within walking distance. The one area needing improvement was the breakfast which was mediocre at best. The eggs were awful! Absolutely no flavor and the pancakes were tough.
Jill
This is our fourth year staying at this property, and it never disappoints. The staff are outstanding—always going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms are clean and comfortably sized, and the location is perfect, with the added bonus of having the beach just steps from the door.
Jim
The rooms need updating, the interior needs a makeover, would not stay again
Jackee
Everything was good
Beverly
Great balcony viewing of Lk Superior. We will be back!

Family trip

The building was in disrepair. Needed a good deep cleaning
Meridith
Very clean, right on the beach. Close to the ferry to Mackinac Island. Lots of restaurants and souvenir shops near by.
Kirsten
Our new favorite hotel! Love the beach access!
Gregory
I was not happy
Lori
The lakeside view was enjoyable and the fireworks a plus. Very convenient to town and dining options. The staff were friendly but gave incorrect directions. The connection between the two hotels was inconvenient and confusing.
Ahmed
very nice staff
Shemar
DO NOT STAY. BEWARE
Nothing about this hotel is decent. It’s DIRTY AND RUN DOWN. The best thing about it was the hot tub which barely looked clean. Poorly kept rooms- dark and dingy and dated and the air conditioning is inconsistent then have the audacity to leave an envelope for a tip in the room. I would t recommend anyone to stay here.
Josseline
Room was nasty! There was bloody stains on the sheets. The bathroom was disgusting.
Shaji
Seasonal vacation spot.
Randall
The drain in the tub was slow and sink faucet is leaking. Needs maintenence work
Vickie
Close to everything I wanted to do.
VICKIE
nice view
Stephanie
Outdated, not very clean. Won’t stay again.
Deborah
Very nice stay!

The lady that waited on me checking in was trying to be nice but she was really a B. The whole set up was awful. Having to walk into another hotel to get to an elevator to take us to our hotel and our room. The hotel looked run down. This was sad for a Comfort in.
Becky
Staff at check-in was great! Surfaces in room were sticky and there was visible dust in the AC unit. Carpets in the room were stained. Room was noisy. Water temperature in shower fluctuated between hot and cold with no adjustment. Staff at checkout was rude.
Karen
The parking, couldn't park near our room.
Dorcas
The room was clean, but i was disappointed because lights weren't working room to dark....the bathrub function was terrible werent able to use it, and thats one of the things i was looking forward since i might not have the oportunity to get in the pool. The pool was closed 😫 and no one paying attention to it ..it was just a place to sleep and thats alll
David
As an 80 year old, I found having to us an outdoor stairwell was somewhat cumbersome.
Also having to go to the neighboring motel for our breakfast was unusual and the pancakes and eggs were not warm.
I search for Comfort Inns as my previous experiences have been very good. Not this time

It’s a nice hotel. The room was very clean. I could smell the cleaning products when I opened the door. The Lakeview room was nice. The one thing I didn’t like was the breakfast area. It’s self serve and people had kids in there touching the food etc. I ended up not eating. I went across to a restaurant to eat. I’d suggest having staff serve the food. I was grossed out by someone’s kid touching the pancakes and licking their hand
Donna
Close to downtown. Has a nice beach right behind it. The one pool ladder had a broken ring that spun around and it felt quite hazardous to use. Otherwise the pool area was clean and the whirlpool worked well. Access to the beach was through a short enclosed corridor that was dirty and scary.. Room was dark and air conditioner was loud!
Mary Jessica
Nice view of the lake. The place is dated tho but clean.
Youssef
Who ever works at the front disk
They r so rude
U can’t even ask any questions or for any help

Property was close to town and had a nice view. One thing I did not like- our smoke alarm started beeping in the early morning because the battery was dead. I had to get up and disconnect it and then pull the battery out. Very annoying. When I checked out later that day, I brought the smoke alarm to the front desk and explained what happened. No apology, no nothing. Just took the alarm from me and said \"Thanks!\"
The property could certainly use some maintenance.
The room was clean as well as the linens.

Hotel was connected to another property making entry to rooms somewhat inconvenient.
Anny
good enough for one night. discounts were nice! light bulb was not working in my room.
Randy
This hotel is nicely located right in the beach. The only issue we had was their \"elevator\" was in the next connecting hotel as well as the free breakfast-on the third floor.
Gary
Great stay!
sharyl michele
Check in woman was NOT friendly. Spiders in bathroom. Corners vent anove not clean.
Craig
All good!
Phillip
While this property needs updating, it is convenient, comfortable, safe, and a very friendly staff. This property is close to everything in Mackinaw City. Breakfast is included in the hotel next door. Pool was a plus. Would stay there again.
cindy
Property was clean could use some updates lots of cobwebs everywhere. The property has a walkway to the beach which was a disaster, dirty and abandoned. It looked like it was a place maybe they use to serve continental breakfast but they did nothing with it. They could clean it up take the doors off and make it a breezeway or something. We didn’t like that the lobby was closed and no one was there till 7am and we had to go to next hotel for coffee and breakfast The private beach could use some maintenance and organizing the tables and chairs as well as the little picnic area (deck) with tables was full of spiders and cobwebs. All in all was a convenient place to stay for the downtown area quick walk to everywhere the staff (cleaning people) were very pleasant and helpful when we needed supplies
Julie
Pool and hottub were great- good breakfast- clean older hotel- staff was friendly and accommodating
Susan
A very nice hotel, walkable to the downtown area shops and restaurants. Nearby hiking was easily accessible.
JoAnne
Our room was very nice. The breakfast buffet was very nice and the location and beach behind it were great.
Beatrix
it was all right, beds comfortable but needs updating. Staff was very kind.
Twana
Great beach front property. We watched the fireworks from our balcony off the water!
Craig
