This was my 3rd time staying here and I will book again next year. Amazing staff and housekeeping. The kids waterpark area water could be a tad bit warmer and some of the features were not working but the kids still enjoyed it. Only warning would be is the bathtub is pretty slippery so use caution when showering. I've seen some reviews about the property being dirty but what I witnessed was people just leaving their trash laying around or littering, so I will not hold staff responsible for that.

Dingy, dirty, hot. room smelt like a mix of sweat and chlorine. Given a room right above the water park. Very outdated. No breakfast provided even though booking said breakfast. Waterpark is grimey. outdoor pool aging and murky water. Said beach access right across the street but its not. Location is convenient in the main downtown area. Overall not worth the money and lots of false advertising. Not even remotely close to the experience I thought we had booked

The pictures of the property are deceiving. The property is not maintained. The 4th floor halls, gym, arcade, and common areas did not have A/C (it was hot). The room door was not fitted properly leaving a gap into the hallway. The walls were damaged. The carpet was very old and damaged. The 4th floor windows slid completely open with no fall barrier. The waterpark is for toddlers and not maintained. The outside pool was cloudy and had a very strong chemical odor (not chlorine). The place is a dive. Do not recommend.

The housekeeping staff at the hotel is great! Even though we just stayed only 2 nights the staff made sure she changed the toiletries and clean the room and made the bed for us even though we did not explicitly ask for it. The hotel was clean, staff is very friendly and the indoor waterpark and arcade gaming area were great additions for the kids and adults both! I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here if i travel to Mackinaw city again!

The hotel is not well maintained and there does not seem to be any urgency to picking up garbage from around the hotels vicinity. The interior is extremely outdated and needs a lot of love. We didn't see a single staff member except for a front desk person.

The outdoor pool is a great idea but definitely needs work and requires a good cleaning. You can't see the bottom of the pool.

The best part is the location to restaurants, shops, and beach.

The hotel layout is one of the most odd layouts I have seen. We stayed on the ground level but the rest of my family stayed on the fourth floor. You had to go in through an unlocked side door, up three flights of stairs (or use the elevator to the third floor) go through a side door past an eerily empty dining space, up a fourth and final set of stairs to the fourth floor. Very strange. The hotel itself is in need of many updates and maintenance. The outside pool area is pretty gross and the water is very murky. The indoor pool and play area is ok.

I did give this facility a chance for my family to stay even after reading some bad reviews. As I approached the Front desk staff also claiming herself as manager, I kindly asked and respectfully asked her a favor to check if there’s at least one available room available for us to Check in early because our 11 months old baby needs a change and was very fussy from a long travel. This lady responded “ check in is at 3pm and I can’t help you right now because look at this papers in front of you! I’m am working on this right now! I have no time to check for your request! ( rude tone) This lady did not even hesitate to say it in front of the children. I was so disappointed, I came back and told her I need to cancel our reservation because I’m not comfortable staying in a place where staff does not even welcomed us with well manners. Where is the costumer service in this facility??? Even Expedia agent tried to talk to this lady and told me that this person was very rude even hang up on her.
I will give this place 0 star if there’s an option!

Very disappointing stay. The room was in poor condition—the refrigerator, closet, bathroom shower, and even the toilet paper holder were broken or damaged. The room also did not feel clean.

Another major inconvenience was that there is no elevator to the 4th floor.

The biggest issue, however, was the customer service. The staff was rude and unhelpful. When we raised our concerns, we were simply told to \"book somewhere else,\" but they were not willing to cancel or offer any assistance. They showed no interest in resolving the issues or making our stay better.

Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. I would not recommend staying here.

Room accommodation was not ideal, we were on the 4th floor. Elevator only went up to the 3rd floor then you had to walk across a ramp and carry your luggage up a flight of about 15 stairs. No ac in the common areas of that part of the hotel. Room was old & dingy, bathroom door made loud noises when being closed not a big deal until you closed it in the middle of the night and everyone woke up. Room door had a big gap between the frame & door. Also pools didn’t open until 11:30am. Definitely never going back to that hotel.

A nice place to stay and our room was very clean but other parts of the property were in disrepair. Getting close to the pool area there’s a very moldy smell and the windows are fogged up from the moisture inside the building. The windowsills and paint in that part of the building are also rotted and flaking. The pool area itself needs some maintenance but it was ok to use and my kids enjoyed it. The staff was super helpful and friendly and were the shining stars of our stay there. Our balcony room was very nice and clean, and since we were there during the car show we had a great view of the cars getting ready for the show and driving by.

I’m real easy going, simple, and easy to please, but my stay here was less then subpar.. so much so I actually feel inclined to leave a review. Staff were incredibly rude, dismissive, and uninterested in doing their job. We were traveling with toddlers and with a late arrival at 11PM just wanted to watch some TV in the room and take a warm bath after a whole day of traveling. Neither amenities worked. Went to watch a movie on our phone and the wifi was also useless. When I confronted the front desk, staff argued with me that I didn’t know how to work a TV and they had already fixed it after my initial complaint which was obviously untrue given we had just arrived and that was the initial complaint. The elevator stalled, the hotel itself looked as if it hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks, there were days no one had come to clean our room or provide new towels, something I had never had to ask for in the past.. when I moved out the coffee machine to make a pot, the amount of dust, debris, etc told me this room was not fully cleaned.. to top it off, the coffee provided in the room tasted nothing more than hot water, even after using 3 bean pouches.. as we were leaving we said goodbye to house keepers in the hallway who shrugged us off. The lack of care of and interest in doing their job shows and for what we were charged to stay there am astonished. Would have been better off camping with toddlers and saved 100s

Spent 5 nights here. Surprised while looking for a hotel in the area that was reasonably priced, how many didn't include a microwave & refrigerator. Some had one or the other only. Found this hotel by going up in price somewhat. Amenities page shows microwave, refrigerator and laundry facilities. Our room was ok & had a balcony with a partial lake view. You could see the ferries coming and going after they got passed the Ramada Inn across the street.
PROS
• Location - ferry access to Mackinac Island across street AND saved the 10.00 parking lot fee
• room with a balcony with water view
• hot, hot water
• good water pressure & a great pulsating shower head
• plenty of towels, washcloths and toiletries
• bed comfortable - no bed bugs
• No dead or alive bugs such as roaches were seen in room.
• table with 2 chairs
CONS
• NO laundry facilities despite what the amenities page shows
• VERY small microwave (10\" tall & 18\" long)
• VERY small refrigerator (17.5\" tall & 18.5\" wide
• both are stacked inside a cabinet and have to get on floor to use
** Shouldn't complain too much since at least room had both items unlike other hotels in the area**
• Had to program TV myself to get channels. Remote wouldn't sync with TV. Info & guide button on remote didn't work. You could view the guide but couldn't go directly to the show from that page.
ANNOYANCES
• bathroom door didn't open all the way
• sink in main living area but only place to hang a hand towel was to drape it over the hair dryer

The bathroom door had no threshold bar on the bottom so we had to step over it otherwise we stepped on sharp tacks. The door to the room where the door clicks in was hollowed out. The third floor smelled musty like mold. Kids had fun at the Waterpark but a lot of components were also broken there. The tipping bucket doesn't function and there was a broken knob on the sauna. Very large hot tub, water appeared clean, but you could tell the park was pretty old.

The room was extremely cold upon check in and took 8 hours to get up to a comfortable temperature. Breakfast was not available, likely due to seasonal off time.

Waterpark was enjoyable an fun for the kids, yes! I can’t complain as it was under 100$ for me and 3 kids and waterpark. Yet, the room was very worn down. Shower rod broken, hair in the tub, left over items from previous stayer. We found a dead mouse electrocuted and stuck in the socket thst was broken.

Overall… for the kids to have some fun, I’d do it again for the price. But could absolutely use some TLC.

Crown Choice did not have an open pool so we stayed at the Hamilton. Hamilton served all our needs! The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful and efficient! He helped get our service switched over to Hamilton at the same rate and room type! Older hotel but it is still decent! We enjoyed many of the amenities! Pool, hot tub, workout room, breakfast! Kids all felt safe and comfortable too!

We've come back to this hotel multiple times , we love it ! The indoor water park , pool and hot tub are great! Even a game room and pool table. We've been during rhe summer and winter, and its always great. The only thing I wish they still had is a continental breakfast. They used to have it, and they have a very spacious dinning area. All in all, our family highly recommends!

The room was not clean, I wiped some type of food off the bathroom outlet, had to clean the toliet seat off. The water park was dirty, looked like there was blood on the drains, and the hot tub didn't work.

Everything was great besides the waterpark and pool area was cold , it was cold and snowy outside I understand but they need to turn the water up some and the heat on . That is the main reason I stayed at this place . My grandkids were very cold in the water .

I contacted corporate with my concerns and was offered a certificate for a future stay. unfortunately we live in Louisiana and this was a one time experience to see some snow. the certificate was useless but when i tried to explain that i needed another form of reimbursement i was told no. the reason was and i quote \" room service(meaning collecting trash and towels )was not a separate paid service\" Last I checked collecting wet towels from rooms and replacing them was included in ANY hotel stay. We had essentially collected 4 days worth of towels for 5 people and accumulated as much trash, not including the trash that was there already.(we had a kitchenette so take into consideration food waste) we had the opportunity to speak with the front desk one time, otherwise it was closed and we had to use the hotel down the road for services. There were wires hanging from the ceiling where a smoke alarm was meant to be, a cigarette butt under our fitted sheet, we found that on night 3 when the sheet popped off the mattress. broken dresser, broken hairdryer. we were moved to a different room on our last night and same story, smoke alarm missing, tv in the back room didn't work. A pair of socks were in the bed, we returned those to housekeeping. The lights in the back didn't work. There was building supplies left out on the second floor dining as well. sauna didn't work. pool was great. Maintenance Man 100%customer service was not great. we deserved a little compensation for all that.

Our stay was awesome other than the fact that our personal jacuzzi was dirty, being s previous house keeper I know to check the jacuzzi by running It before EVER getting into it, and it was FILTHY. also it think it’s great that myself and my boyfriend got passes to the water park, however the water park should say it’s SPECIFICALLY for children, and after I noticed that, it was fine, because I noticed they had a huge well heated pool and awesome big jacuzzi PLUS a sauna! For the adults! , however the sauna Did not work!! And that really sucked!! The bed was a king however it most luxury hotel rooms and for the price the mattress is much better than the one that was provided! But the room was very clean, that staff was great, although a little slow cause they were short staffed. I’m would probably end up booking at a different hotel where I know the beds are better and there is a water park for both adults and kids. overall out of 10 I would rate my stay a solid 6, and that’s only because without my voucher the rate for the deluxe room with the hands for the park just wasn’t worth it, considering how dirty the jacuzzi was and the fact that the bed could have been way comfier(considering other stays in cheaper hotels in mackinaw) and the fact that the water park wasn’t for adults at all and the sauna being broken.
