After a very long day and a scary evening, we booked this place last mintue. Litterally 1 hour from booking to arrival. Drivng in we were a little bit hesitant because it was super dark. We checked in without issue. Coming into the site off the street was like a hidden paradise. BEAUTIFUL. I am so glad we had an emergency that we needed to book and discover this hidden gem. Our entire experience was amazing. The coffee was dreamy and the staff amazing! Highly recommend, I will be back with my family in tow.

We stay in this hotel as an airport stopover. 100% recommendation. Self check in was a breeze. We used What’s App to arrange ground transfers etc. little restaurant was great. Wonderful quiet location & felt very safe.

The king pool view room was dreamy! The whole property felt like a private mansion, in a secluded location (but near the airport). Food was average but we still loved the beauty and peacefulness of the hotel. I wouldn’t stay here more than 1-2 nights unless you have a car tho.

Arrived afterhours. Easy to enter Villa Palmeras as codes and room number provided previously. Room nice, but we had been traveling for 18 hours and did not carry water with us. We had expected to have drinkable water in the room for the three people registered but none was available. As it was afterhours (10 pm) no front desk people to ask.
Purchased breakfast in the morning prior to departure. Outstanding food!

I could not receive wi-fi in my room. I had to go out to the hall to get it, then it was very weak and slow. The TV in the room didn’t work. The margaritas were only half full. When we asked the server why the glasses were only half full, he just shrugged and said that's how they come.

The staff was courteous, the food was great, and the prices even better! However, the room toiletries dispensers were all empty, what appeared to be a hot tub was actually cold with a non heated pool. They advertise a sports bar, but there was no Television, only a projector that you had to hook up yourself. Being out of country made this function not work, so the Super Bowl at a sports bar was a flop. But for the price it was a nice stay and convenient by the airport with a driver easily arranged for us.

Very tidy and clean room. Surface was small. Breakfast was correct, staff was very nice. The most important point is that the hotel is close to the airport and 100% autonomous check-in/out. You can litterally arrive anytime and they provide you with all the codes to access the building/parking, makes it very convenient.

The room itself was not bad. I loved the location. The kitchen staff was really nice. I liked that you had a code to get in and out of the room and main door. My biggest issue with this location is the WiFi. WiFi barely worked and tv did not work. Also, it was almost as if they had up a scrambler because my cell phone would work just fine until I would get back to the hotel then it would go completely out. I have AT&T and Verizon and neither service would work. I had to drive to the nearest 7-11 just to be able to complete some work on my laptop. I even tried hooking up my hotspot and that did not work. The booking agent was very helpful and stayed in communication with me via WhatsApp’s the entire time. She did state that the internet was out and with no estimate time of restoration. I think that was true for my last day but not the others. The shower head was semi damaged so the water was not coming out of the actual head but in fact it was coming from behind the head. I got this hotel last minute because originally where I was staying turned out to be trash so I needed someone last minute as I was already on the island. Overall I do not think i would stay here again just off the internet connection alone. If they would fix that and the shower head I would recommend this place to anyone that does not want to stay in hotel zone and wants to experience playa del Carmen.

Upon booking, It was not clear that there was not a human on the property. I was traveling with another female and we DID NOT feel safe! We did not get the code to get in, couldn’t get the WiFi to work, the room was very hot, no elevators for heavy luggage.. etc.
we did enter the room in hopes of it being up to our standards according to the Expedia app. But it definitely was not! Very disappointed. I messaged the property and they denied a refund when we weren’t even there 30 min…

Staff support is lacking. Room smells like sewage and they refused to let us switch rooms or get money back. They refused to let us bring food in because they have a restaurant. The restaurant food is lacking and not good. No mini fridge in rooms to prevent us from going out and bringing good food back.

Upon arriving at the property, we couldn't enter or access the Wi-Fi; even the QR code wasn't working. We contacted you via WhatsApp, but you never responded with a solution; you simply sent the same photos. The television wasn’t working either. Since the WiFi wasn’t working, it was very hard to contact an uber and was very scared he would miss his flight in the morning. You’re not able to talk with anyone and the area is very dark and secluded behind an alleyway. The locks on the room door were broken and I have pictures to show this. Didn’t stay at the property, left and found another hotel downtown.

El personal muy amable, de eso no puedo decir nada. Sin embargo, el internet fue un problema para nosotros ya que era muy difícil conectarse y a los pocos minutos se desconectaba. El lugar está un poco alejado pero pensamos iba a ser fácil conseguir transporte, sin embargo era también un poco complicado ya que está sobre la carretera federal y muchas veces el transporte nos cancelaba pues tenía que rodear.

The room was clean. It would have been nice to have a bathmat. There was a weird smell coming in from the balcony, so we kept the door shut between the bedroom and the bathroom area. The fan didn't work. Virtual entry was easy and communication was excellent. The food at the restaurant was very good, but a little pricey. Overall, a nice stay for an airport layover.

The restaurant food was all homemade from scratch and MADE WITH LOVE. There was no need to go out for food or have it delivered because the onsite restaurant was OUTSTANDING!!! The property felt so cozy and personable. It was a perfect place for my 5-day stay there. I couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else… Villa Palmeras is PERFECT!!

The property is very old and rooms need serious maintenance. Don't trust the room photos or high ratings. The AC was noisy and worked on single setting. The bed had certain constant vibration feel from the floor or wall idk. The pillows given were terrible and had worst ever filling which felt like some crumbled garbage. Balcony chairs were dirty and stained. The washroom needed serious maintenance. No hot water in shower. Very low pressure shower. No elevators to take your luggage to the rooms which are not on ground floor.

The parking door doesn't close at night leaving your car open to risk although nothing happened to us.

Very secluded area location and could feel little unsafe if you're going there late at night although we didn't run into into problems.

I'm summary, not worth even the low price you'll pay.

Staff seemed fine and I enjoyed the automated check in. It’s a perfect little location if you have a layover and know you’re not trying to get to the beach or enjoy the nightlife. However, I was not impressed with the cleanliness of the room. The drawer had someone’s leftover condom and half of some sort of pill in the drawer. If this was missed who knows what else was skipped over during the cleaning process

The room was nice. The grounds were well kept. The food was good in the on-site restaurant though over $4 CAD for a litre of water was a bit pricey.Since I got in late and left early, I never had a chance to try the outdoor pool. There is no printing facility on-site so either print your boarding pass before you arrive or be prepared to go digital. Also, getting a taxi to the airport needs a little work involving management unless you have the Uber app. And make sure you update the time on your devices as for some reason mine did not update and I ended up an hour later than I expected when I set my alarm.

I was trapped and crushed by the parking lot door and almost broke my ribs. I reported the incident through the WhatsApp number provided, but I never received a response or any sign of concern.
The door requires urgent repair, as it poses a serious safety risk and could lead to a tragic incident if not addressed promptly.

Also impossible to arrive their , instructions are no convenient , I drove over 30 minutes more to find my way to the hotel.
Nobody at the reception they just sent instructions very Impersonal , no food discount no room upgrade.
They gave me a wrong room I opened there was someone else
I was about of living the place and ask for a full reimburse.
This hotel lies everything

Upon arrival I was placed in a room a random room by staff, not knowing I had to download WhatsApp to actually find my exact room. The only good thing from this hotel is that the staff was pleasant but maybe because I couldn’t understand their language. The Tv is slow, remote backs are broken, and wifi is extremely slow! Sheets were stained and hair on sheets. I had noisy neighbors who were also smoking cigarettes after I saw a sign that said no smoking. It’s a nice hotel, it’s just very outdated. I would never stay here again due to my phone not working and the food is horrible! The only perk is it’s close to the airport. The transportation driver said it’s a unsafe neighborhood and tourists should’nt be in this area. We couldn’t even do excursions because it’s not in a hotel zone. Check-In process was very easy as everything was done through WhatsApp. Room was clean and had a great view of the backyard pool. The food available at the restaurant downstairs was some of the best we had in Cancun. Exceptional service!

Room was ok. Wife was terrified by how we had to get into parking lot and room as there is no one there at night so you have to do it yourself. All the lights where off when we got there so we had to use our phones also as soon as we got into the room we had to turn on the A/C cuase the room was like a steam room about 10 minutes went by and the power went out for about 5 minutes cane back on for like 5 minutes and then went out again. I liked the hotel just the location at night is not the best and having to get off your car to go into the parking is not great either over all it was fine

Wi-Fi connection was inconsistent and stopped working while I was in an important meeting. Tha manager seemed like a nice guy and tried to be helpful but this was too barebones for me. I would not stay again unless I was taking off the next day from the Cancún airport- which is close by.

I never had a moment of privacy. The window did not have a curtain. They invested in automation, but it proved ineffective when certain details were overlooked, such as the improvement of furniture. For example, the doors were noisy, and the access roads were unpaved.

I had such a great stay here! The hotel was super convenient since it’s close to the airport, and the self check-in made everything quick and easy. The place was very clean, the food was really good, and the pool was perfect—I even went for a swim and loved it. Overall, everything exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend!
